    "La Brisas" shut down

Just spent a weekend in Cabarete. The bar where most of the pros used to be, "Las Brisas", was shut down last week; nobody could tell me if or when it will reopen. I found that some girls now are at the "Bambu" bar, also at the beach just a few houses away from las Brisas. They were sitting in the back at the bar close to the men's toilets.

Hope that this info will help somebody in his search for some fun.

It's closing sometime this month if I am not mistaken.

Can anyone confirm the last day of operations and the new location?

    cabarete vet

    Hola,

I haven't been down to cabarete for awhile...since last january.I plan on going down the week of dec 11th.I usually stay at hotel kaoba which has been great for me.I was just curious about two things.

Have the prices for food gone up?

I've gotten girls for $40 has the asking rate gone up? I can sometimes work local girls since I hang out in the neighborhoods etc. but last year the money situation took an obvious pinch to my wallet.Lets just say I ate alot of pizza with my pussy.

    Thank you for any information.

    you are indeed right...

but for those of us not living in DR and that dont have tremendous time to invest...we have to make due...now, I will say that bargaining power increases exponentially later in the night, when many of these chicas dont have money to even get home...and all they have to look forward to when they get home is a hungry bambino! even if their performance is minimal...that is what the booze is for! I always in invest in at least 2 drinks for the chica when an investment opportunity is spotted...and then keep a cheap bottle of brugal in the fridge for the nightcap...truss me...it works every time!

    Cabarete SW not for me

Was my second trip in DR, as I had met a nice girl in juan dolio previously thanks to a swiss guide who knew the boss of the bar where she worked, things had been easy.
But in Cabarete, I was staying in an unfriendly big "all inclusive" hotel located 3miles away east (Camino del Sol). There was a small bar in a muddy path with dim light 300m which had rooms at the rear but I did not find nice cheerfull girls; they seemed quite bored. If they had invited me to share one of their dances, may be... I went 2 times, and saw not great action, so I went into Cabarete along the main street, up and down to spend the time (I am not a surfer nor windsurfer, just a small middle-adged monger).

During the day, always 3 or 4 very average looking girls waving at passers by, in a Pattaya-like bar in the middle of the street. However I inquired about the price; 1300

Pesos seemed a joke ; it was not.

Some girls waited in beach bars too near volley field, seemingly waiting for tourists , but i am shy, and these bars are not sex oriented as in Thailand, so I just looked, one noticed me and came to me on the beach, quoting again 1300P , she was better looking, but I assumed I should have no room included, so I left.

Another tourist had found a 1000P middle-adged lady not to bad, where there are small barracks farther, but I only saw 2 or three monsters.

I went to the "car wash" located 500m after petrol station (direction Sosua, at the right).

At least I saw 20 to 30 girls, some were quite handsome (not as much as in kenya however), and they had room at the rear, 1300P all included.

But as I am stupid I thought it was 3 times my pattaya beach girls and they were not better, furthermore I believed I could not even take any pictures as souvenir inside their brothel.

I felt very frustrated when I went back home without a fuck, angry because unlike asiatic, they never negociate, they prefer not to work.

One day , coming full of sand from beach in a small path, a youngster on moto proposed me a chica for 1000P, but I was not ready.

Went to Sosua by gwa gwa (minibus), but it was around 5pm, all bars where empty. Did not try nights, regreted to be stuck in Cabarete where the scene is narrow.

    Pro, non-pro.

    Hi Johan007,

I have read your answer, and I like your opinion. For my next trip in DR or other country of latin america, I will look for more non-pro girls.

When you arrive for only one week in a new spot, the facility to have sex, it's to go in familiar bars or disco, but you are right the result is better with non pro even if this take more time.

    Regards

    Jack.

    Cabarete vacations.

    Hi,

I were for one week in cabarete, it was my second trip in DR, the las time I were in Boca Chica, in december 2004.

My hotel, the Tropical Casa Laguna, is in the center of cabarete, near the beach and the mainstreet. Good hotel with four swimming pools, good services and food for the price ( one week all inclusive, with the flight from Paris and the shuttle Puerto Plata-Cabarete, 440 Euros, roughly 500 dollars.).

I was disappointed when I saw the prices asked by the girls, and if you can fall the price, the service is bad. The girls think you have a lot of money because you are white male from Europe or US, ultimately you are fed up with this attitude. Even if I speak spanish, bargain is hard because you know after the service is minimum when is not bad.

There is a bar on the beach "Brisas del Mar", good place with local music, with dancing and the price for drinking is cheap, beer Pesidente 70 pesos. There are a lot of girls,(20-30 old),they are very pretty, but very expensive, minimum 2000 pesos, and bargain is very hard. When you know that a waiter or charwoman who work in the hotel earn for 1 month 4500-5000 pesos!!

Another bar in mainstreet, "Chiringuito", girls more older and less pretty, but the prices more attractive.

If I pay the same fare like in my country, I prefer say no. The two times I had sex for 1200 pesos, bad experience, but maybe I didn't have luck!!.

I prefer Boca Chica, people more loyal with the tourists, but it was before the crackdown.

The next time I will go to Colombia maybe, I think the mentality is better for mongering, when I read reports, but DR is very good for the beach and cheap vacations.

    DR Trip Part I

    Hello,

Having returned from a week in Sosua and Cabarete over Christmas, I will share some of my experiences with you all. First, a bit about myself as a reference point for you all. I am a 25 year old white male living in New York City. I don't have problems finding girls to have sex with in the United States, but have more than a slight obsession with Latin women. Before this trip, i had never paid (money) for sex, mainly due to the fact that i don't need to. I speak enough spanish to get by in Spanish speaking countries. Also, i had never been to the Carribean or Latin America. Ok, now on to the good part.

    Monday:

My flight left JFK at 7:00 a.m. with a layover in Miami, then on to Puerto Plata. I arrived at the airport around 4:00 p.m. and was picked up by a taxi driver who worked for the condo complex i was staying at in Cabarete. I would definitely reccomend asking the hotel you are staying at to send a taxi to pick you up, as it can be a little intimidating stepping off an international flight in a strange country. Once we arrived at the Condos, i paid him $20-25 USD with a $5 tip. I checked into my room and went in search of an ATM to withdrawl money to buy beer. I made the mistake of getting onto the back of a moped taxi and asking him to take me to buy beer, not just opening my eyes and noticing supermarkets all over the main street in Cabarete. Of course, he realized i was fresh off the plane and ripped me off. Truth be told, i should have known better as i was aware of not only the exchange rate from U.S. dollars to pesos, but of approximately how much i should be paying for a taxi ride. Note: a cab from Sosua to Cabarete, which is a 10-15 minute ride, should be about 8 U.S. dollars, which is approximately 200 pesos. This is a good gauge for how much taxi's should cost you in the DR. Anyway, he immediately took me down a dirt road into the heart of the barrio to some shady supermarket that was probably owned by a friend or relative, and must have essentially said to the owner, "rip this guy off. He's new, white, and has money." It was already dark at this point, and i just wanted to get the fuck out of there, so i paid the high price for beer, then got a ride back to my condo. i paid 100 pesos for each 22 oz. Presidente (should have been about 50) and 500 pesos for a 2 minute ride on a moped. It's alright though, i'm sure it's a rite of passage of some sort in the DR, as i take comfort in the fact that i'm not the first American to get ripped off there, and definitely won't be the last. Also, I would reccomend carrying small change, as people in stores or taxis see you walking around with 3 500 peso bills, which in actuality is only about 60$ U.S. dollars, but is not something people will want to give you change for, so they will try to just take the whole amount as payment. Anyway, this sucked, but i was in the DR, and now had a shitload of beer, and was ready to begin my vacation. I drank some beer, and went to a restaurant attached to one of the hotels in Cabarete. It was a buffet and sucked. I paid 400 pesos for all you can eat and drink, but like i said, the food was nothing special. Went back to my room afterwards and went to sleep.

    Tuesday:

I woke up hungry and decided i needed to buy food. Let me make a suggestion at this point. If you are an american with above average intelligence regarding international travel, you will soon come to relaize in the DR that the restaurants have a captive audience. Americans, Europeans, and other people from priveleged countries that have the luxary of full shelves in supermarkets in their native land are in the DR for one reason: vacation. They (tourists) don't want to cook and can afford to eat shitty, overpriced food while on vacation. I however, quickly noticed which way the wind was blowing regarding dining in the DR, and found my way to Janet's Supermarket at the east end of Cabarete. Long story short, if you're staying in a condo or hotel with a kitchen, i would advise you to buy groceries and cook food for yourself, as most of the restaurants and bars are cheesey, overpriced, and catered to white people. A perfect example of this would be "Jose O'Shays" a (you guessed it) Dominican Irish bar in Cabarete. Lame right? I was in the DR to fuck beautiful women, drink Presidentes, and get some much needed sun on the beach, not go to bad restaurants and bars with cheesy tourists. At Janets supermarket, i bought bread, pasta, cheese, water, salsa and chips, eggs, milk, cereal, and beer. I paid about 25 U.S. dollars for all of this, which lasted me most of the week. Again, i remind you that a cheeseburger at one of the touristy bars along the main strip costs you 8$ U.S. dollars and is not what you want in a cheeseburger. This goes for the pizza as well, though living in New York, i had to at least try a dominican pizza (which in comparison, was also pretty bad). I hope i'm not boring you all with the basics, but i feel some of these early observations in my trip made the rest of my stay much more enjoyable and cost effective. Now onto the chicas.

So tuesday night, after having laid on the beach all day and having finally gotten a decent meal in me, as well as some beers, I decided to check out Cabarete night life. Cabarete is essentially one street paralleling the beach, that takes about 5 minutes to walk from end to end. Along this street is alot of lame all inclusive hotels, bars, and restaurants. At night, everyone is just kind of walking around eating and drinking, not much else. However, i was in search of one thing. This place is crawling with women. I came across what i saw as really the main bar in Cabarete to meet hookers. It is an outdoor bar in the center of the strip with anywhere from 10-15 girls sitting around bullshitting at night. as soon as you walk up, they just go nuts. One after the other, they try to make eye contact, then touch you, get you to buy them drinks, give them your cigarettes, etc. I would like to take this time and give another piece of advise. "quizas luego senorita" is a polite way of saying, "perhaps later woman" when you are propositoned for sex but don't want to go with that particular girl. I choose Ana. She was 29, had big tits, and wanted 3,000 pesos. I laughed and told her i would pay 1,000, to which she agreed. We went back to my condo, got a massage, cbj, and FS. After about an hour, she got dressed and left. Couldn't have asked for more. Another note. Alot seems to be made about guest friendly hotels and whatnot on this board. My experience in the DR was that if you played it low key, no one really said shit to you. Most hotels and condos have security guards, but if they approach you about bringing a girl to your room just give them 100 pesos ($4 U.S. dollars) and they will look the other way. I would also say it is a good idea to get on the securities good side if you plan on bringing girls to your room frequently. A good way to do this would be to offer to buy them some water, food, or beer during the day, as many of them seem to work almost 16 hours a day and are mainly just hanging around making sure nothing bad happens to the guests. By the time the night rolls around, they remeber you as the guy who offered to buy them a beer, not the tacky american whose here to fuck their beautiful women. More on this subject later though, as it kind of came around to bite me in the ass. Ok, i'm tired of typing but still have another 6 days to report on, so i will do that later.
