Nearly everything is negociable in the DR. The three factors you need to consider are your amount of luggage, your risk tolerance, and your fluency in Spanish. If I come back I will not be over packing. If you're bringing your kite surfing equipment then you're going to need an airport taxi or even a minivan. If you're more of a lonely planet type traveler then you could get away with a taxi with a more ramshackle taxi or one of the bus services either a higher end bus like Caribbean Express or a simple Guagua. Here is the Rob, you can't really negotiate or even know that you're on the right bus if you don't speak Spanish. Don't change money inside the airport, they will short you about 10 pesos to the dollar. Outside you'll get closer to market rate. Would suggest possibly having a 20 and then a ten and another $20 in $5 bills then you can pull them out of various pockets as you negotiate.

Was wondering best way from STI airport to caberette, getting some way different prices, one site said taxi should be 27 $- 35 $ is that about right because other sits were saying 100 $ any information will be helpful! Last time I did it was from Sousa years ago, oh and everyone knows flights are really crazy fll. Pop, over 1,000 dollars and fll to STI looking like 5-6 hundred after all the extras, and might be stuck taking spirit air, only directly flight, would not even think about getting on one of their flights ever again unless big front seat available (and still not happy) LOL.

So yeah I figured I would post here and show Caberette some love. Its a total different vibe from Sosua but its a good vibe. Been here for 5 days now as I'm staying directly on the beach. First night in town I went and got fucked up late at night Ol Eddie Kane Style from the 5 heartbeats. Walk the beach like a drunken stumbled bum from the Mojio Bar back to my spot with no problems. Love the fact that in Caberette on the beach they have a daytime scene and a night time scene on the beach if you're night owl like myself. Everything is in close proximity so I honestly don't need to drive anywhere. Janets Superstore for groceries is less then 30 secs away and the Soctia bank is right across the street.
As far as the ladies goes there working girls but they're a little more discreet then Sosua. I haven't partake because I've imported my hunnies. I brought my girl from the states to celebrate her bday as she's bi sexual and love women. We had a good time from the hunny dip Oakie put me on last year so we had her come stay with us for the past 5 days for an all day all night fuckfest bonanza. She also went and brought another female that loves girl so it been like the playboy mansion. It really is a surreal feeling to have a hunny give you head while my girl from the states nonchalantly walks in, get what she needs from the room and then casually walks out like its all good carry on with deep throating LOL. Or my favorite this past weekend seeing all 3 ladies eating each other out on the couch at 3 am like its time to dine on southern cuisine happy hour and all ol coolie does is jump in and start slinging dick, like a young Ron Jeromy in the 70's. Ol Coolie can be a nasty moutherfucka so I told both girls that they had to get tested before we meetup because jumpim from condom to condom dealing with multiple women sucks donkey balls. Tests was only 50 bucks a piece and they get the results back the same day with no worries.
The best place to party at night is the Ojo club. It felt like I was back in Vegas as it was the first time I been in club since covid shut everything down. Love the scene as theres internationl regular ladies young and old to be had if you so choose to run the regular gambit. Saw a 70 yr old white lady popping bottles with her 25 yr old sanky man and she was having a blast. Again there was working girls but they were alot more discreet with their business. Ooh and beware of the ladie boys. Saw a group of them chillen outside the club and if one isn't to careful and get to drunk you might wake up in the crying game LOL.
Its the down season which works for me as in my humble opinion this time of year in DR the weather is perfect. Its hotter then the sun about to go nova with no rain drops hardly in sight as the views on the beach is NON stop breathtaking. If being on the beach hearing the constant waves doesn't calm your soul then I don't know what will.
The only negative is if you want to explore other towns and head to Sosua and Puerto plata I highly recommend that you get a car. So far its costing 20 dollars one way just to sosua and 20 dollars to get back. Thats crazy to me and I'm to tall to get on a motoconcho. Other then that If you're a beach guy and don't mind splurging a little bit on yourself to be directly on the beach then the center of Caberette is perfect for you.
Peace.

Posts: 3Chica-friendly beachfront lodging recommendations / warnings?
I'm pretty sure I'll stay in a beachfront hotel / condo in Cabarete for two nights at the end of November. I've bookmarked several inexpensive places, and now I'm looking to narrow that. Can I bring a chica in from the beach through the security gate? What about through the front door? Of course, I'm not going to pick one up 10' onto the sand 10 minutes after arrival, we would be much less obvious. This would be one evening. BTW, I'm near-native fluent in Spanish, if that might make a difference with a security guard or desk clerk. TIA.
Leading the pack, mainly because of review ratings on Booking.com:
Oceanfront Cristamar (10) - (based on only 7 reviews, though).
Casa Lilly (9.6).
Residencial Mananero II (9.4).
Okaina 2 (9.4).
Bahia Residence Cabarete (9.3).

Same as in England people sometimes derisively call an old car "the old bus".
Guaguas for local transportation are common all over the DR. They may be small (or less commonly large) buses but are usually minivans.
"Carros publicos" (usually just "publicos") are shared taxis, usually family saloons like Corollas and they squeeze two passengers onto the front bucket seat and four in the back seat (meant for three). Both types run fixed routes and will collect or drop you off at whichever point you want along their fixed route. On some routes the driver may be willing to make a small diversion to drop you off somewhere not on their route. For example, the publico from Puerto Plata to Sosua will always make a diversion through Montellano town center or to the airport entrance if requested without expecting extra payment. In other cases a tip will do the job. "Publicos" can be called "guaguas", especially in areas where buses do not run.
Both types are very cheap. Puerto Plata to Sosua costs around a dollar for 17 miles. For greater comfort in a publico, pay double and have the front seat to yourself.
You can often commission a publico privately as a taxi for your sole use, much cheaper than a normal taxi, but they can be battered old heaps.

Are guaguas unique to Cabarete or common in DR? Are they some kind of shared taxis or minivans? Thanks.

Why I stay on red alert outside of my home and keep my head on a swivel. Roam with people who have less to lose than you do? Better maintain your situational awareness at all times!

I matched with a couple other "massage therapists" on Tinder while there, I will have to check it out next time.

I spent a few days in Sosua (see report) and sandwiched in Cabarete before Blackbeards. I came here mostly to relax, chicas would be secondary. I stayed in some nice condos on the beach. I was only going to bring a chica in if I saw something highly desirable. There were are few chicas on the main street from time to time, nothing that looked great. I would hear voices from the dark when walking back to the condo at night. But I couldn't see them so I kept walking. I would see a few nice ones in the clubs and restaurants on the beach. On the weekend, it looked mostly like families, boyfriends and girlfriends together, but a few girls in clusters. Not a scene like Sosua, but it is there is you are looking.
I created a fake facebook so I could use Tinder. I matched with a girl on Tinder that I emailed back and forth. A massage therapist who would come to my hotel! Her price was $70 for two hours, including massage. I said what the hell. 28 years, long hair, slender body, probably 5"10. Dark caramel skin. Small breasts but great for her body. She came dressed in the middle of the day like she was ready for the clubs, high heels and everything. I got some dirty looks from some of the older women while walking to the condo, I just smiled back!
Turned out to be a great session. She put on some crotch less stockings. CBJ but deep throat. We did multiple positions, then finished doggies. We used our translator apps to talk some, then she actually gave me a decent massage for about 30 minutes. Then more sex in multiple. Unfortunately I lost her digits. May have to delete Tinder and start over.
I met a bartender that was chubby but cute, not too young but much younger than me. We went to the disco, but I would have to have one more trip for her to come home I am sure.
Carabete is a great beach, not much action for P4P, but a little is available. This is probably a good place to bring your favorite from Sosua or elsewhere.
