That reminds me, next time I'm in the DR (Memorial Day Weekend), I'll have to get some phone numbers for future reference. A sharing of the wealth for those, in the know. Following the unwritten and often written code will ensure that we continue to make the rules. Note: guys NEVER let the chica set the tone or you're fucked even before you get started.

A friend passed these along, worthy advice.

1. Don't get emotionally involved. Don't go meet the family.

2. Never give a Dominican a second chance. First time is their fault, second time is your fault, and guaranteed there will be a second time.

3. Don't tell me about your problems. Everyone's got problems. Your problems are your problems, not mine.

4. Don't give out your phone number.

5. Tell them only what they need to know. The more they know about you the more they have to use against you. Keep it on a "first name" basis. (This rule will also serve you well with everyone you deal with down here)

6. If they somehow get your number and call you, hang up when the subject of money comes up.

7. Never bring them home with you. Down here you're KING -- you have the power. You lose all your leverage as soon as they pass through customs.

8. If they don't please you, dump'em fast. Don't be afraid to say "Get the FUCK outta here". Give them taxi fare and throw them out physically if you have to.

9. Make no promises.

10. Lay your cards out from the go. Just like with a taxi, let them know upfront what they can expect, how much you're willing to pay. Make sure you bargain a little or they'll think you're easy and you'll get no respect. If they treat you right give them a "propina" or "regalo"

11. Trust no one. (The most important rule)

A final word about rules:

Like the old saying goes: "Rules are made to be broken". The important thing is to break them only when it's to your benefit, when you have more to gain than to lose.

A closing thought:

Beware of the girls you meet that say "I'm not a puta". If they'll go out with you treat them as you would any of the girls. They are the worst, more skilled at scamming you. They will wind up costing you a lot more. At least the working girls are honest about what they do.

For a Short Time I paid $30.00 US and $60.00 US for all night.

5. Prostitution is Legal. Unlike engaging in this activity in the United States there is no change of being arrested with your name in the paper. Being arrested in my case would be a real nightmare.

6. Gambling is Legal - Casinos with very low table stakes. A $1.00 per hand blackjack, Craps, Poker.

7. Good Beaches – At Costambar and Sosua have nice beaches.

8. Beer, Rum and Cigars- Presidente beer, Brugal Anejo Rum ($2.00 a bottle), I don’t smoke cigars but many of the guys I met at Blackbeards enjoyed them.

9. Good Food – Fish and chicken dishes are very good. The steak actually is not as good. Beef in the DR does not meet the USDA standards. Go to Kansas City for the best steaks, go to the DR for the best fish.

10. The Good People – The management and staff at blackbeards and/or the Palace are their to make sure you have a good time. Other guys that are also traveling alone are there to help each other have a good time.

Most tourists never venture far from the reservation. There are bargins I hear even in Costa Rica. They don't teach whoring in school yet so its not all common knowledge.

I want to thank Ford and Dashing Dan and several others that PM’ed me. I am glad that you enjoyed my report. I enjoyed writing the report, looking at my photo’s, and reliving my trip. I bedded seven girls all under 25 years of age in my week in the DR. What a great vacation I had.

Let me explain a little economics to Mirco. In a free market it is both supply and demand that sets the price. As long as the Dominican people are getting poorer and poorer the supply of girls that are forced into the market, because of their awful poverty, will increase, and the prices will stay low.

President Hipolito Mejia is one of the most corrupt leaders in the world. . The US, IMF and World bank have loaned or granted monies to improve the roads, build schools, ext. Somehow this money winds up in Swiss bank accounts controlled by Mejia and his cronies. Opposition leaders are jailed and intimidated. The “free press” can not get ink to print their papers. Ink is controlled by the government. He was suppose to be term limited this year, however he has bribed and/or coerced the DR legislature to change the law so he could run again. He only has 15 to 20 percent support in the country, he can not keep the lights on, there have been several nation wide strikes. However, in May I am sure Mejia will be “reelected” in a stolen election Anyone who remembers the Woody Alan move Bananas knows how the third world changes leaders. Costa Rica after decades of the some kind of leadership has actually had a bit better governance. This has more to do with the market for pussy than the demand side.

America in the mean time is getting wealthier. We are 4% of the world’s population (285 million people) yet produce 25% of the worlds GDP. I spent under $2000 for my week’s vacation. I had a great week, sunshine, good food, drink, and yes young and beautiful girls. $2000 is approximately what I earn in an average week before taxes. Mirco, if you are a shop rat earning $8 to $10 dollars an hour, and the prices in the DR are getting to high for you, I might suggest you go next door to Haiti where they have even a more fucked up government than the Dominican Republic.

Snowbird, why the hostility toward Blackbirds? It sounds to me that they tried their best to get you the girl that you wanted. They finally did, and then you blew her off. I enjoyed my stay at Blackbirds very much. As my grandmother would say, it only cost 10 percent more to go first class. I also liked the palace, and believe that I could have enjoyed myself their as well. I believe that choice is good. That there is room for both Blackbeards and the Palace, and I hope they both do well.

Newbie Economics:

I agree with Ford; Mirco, as a soon-to-be-first-timer, I figure it's worth my peace of mind not to haggle the first time. That doesn't mean I will go above 3,000 for an all-nighter, I will NOT. I know enough spanish to say, no, gracias. Then there will be another chica anyway. But for us first-timers, if I can speak for us, we may pay a *bit* more at first, then we will learn the ropes. What *is* important is that no one goes down there and offers more than 3,000 for all night (or the corresponding amount for 2-3 hours). We have to have some solidarity or, as has been said, the place will be ruined. So, to all my fellow newbies, even if you are bald and fat (I'm no prize. trust me!), don't even think about exceeding the 3,000 limit. Once that genie's out of the bottle it goes to 3,500, then to 4,000 (yikes!), then the whole thing is busted and we might as well stay at home. Better to have underpaid/paid the right price and to lose it until the next night, then to screw it up for everyone. Let's face it, this is the last place with great proximity to the U.S. that regular guys can afford. Let's show some monger solidarity. I understand (believe me!) the eagerness to please the chicas, but a little restraint will serve us all really well for years to come. So to speak. I don't mean to be on the soap box, especially since I am a newbie, but the economics are inescapable.

Where did I ever say that I think you should spend $200 on a chica? The guy said he's 45, on his first trip to the "DR" , speaks no spanish and wasn't in the mood to haggle - so he went for 68 bucks. He then said he had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed himself! I say good for him! I do agree however, that this is quite high for experienced travelers.

Greetings everyone. Long time, first time.

I'm a very infrequent monger but I'm trying to pick up the pace. I've been to Aruba and Curacao (loved Campo. Planning a trip again this year)

I'm planning a trip to the DR in early June and I was contemplating staying at BlackBeards. I have a question for Snowbird.

What was the name of the chica that didn't show? I want to make sure that she isn't one of the girls that I was considering from their website.

Exactly due to the same attitude of our many compatriots another paradise - Costa Rica was spoiled and lost very fast. DR is the last thing left in the reasonable proximity to our country and doing what you are doing is the best way to lose the last place in the world where we can be and feel wanted and respected. You seem to have the same attitude that I do when I go on vacation - the important thing is to enjoy yourself and have fun! This is what we work for, this is what we vacation for. The idea is not to see how little money we can spend or how little we can get over on the girls for. (Even though I'm in my 30's, speak good Spanish and have a full head of hair )

The money you spend in the "DR" never adds up to much in the long run anyway!

My take on Blackbeards and comments on "The Palace".

In a recent trip to the DR I was staying in the area at the Palace and decided I needed to check out other venues, in case at a future time it was booked I needed a second location. I booked a room for one night over the net and went to check the digs out.
Yes I think it is better there, the rooms are nicer, the facilities are nicer, the staff is great. It ends there. When I made a visit two days prior to checking in, I selected, with the help of the staff, two girls to see in the afternoon. I arrived early around noon and checked in, verified that every thing was in line for my afternoon activities and showered. I waited and waited and waited. Knowing there is real time and DR time I allowed an hour to pass before seeking management. Now this is a girl they told me was realiable and provided good service. They tried calling her or one of her friends. Another two hours go by. Still no chica. Now if I was in charge I would apologize to the guest and arrange someone else. After all she came from their book not mine. Instead they told me to be patient. I waited another two hours before she showed up. SHE IS NOW FIVE HOURS LATE! She was a nice girl but not worth waiting for. I decided to bail figuring that my late afternoon appointment who was not there yet would not show until midnight. As luck would have I bumped into another guy who was coming in to do a ST with his girl. He had a driver. I said here are they keys to my room which has two beds and I borrowed his driver to run me back to the Palace.

Now the Palace is not as nice but I like the location, the quiet street, its location to all the activities, and John and Gordo.

I would stay their hands down. I like the ambience of the place.

Just my opinion.

One last thing. For a overnighters I pull my girls from Boheme (sp) and have been happy most of the time. The girls from Cystals have almost always been a disappointment. Got one girl from the hole in the wall place in PP (can't remember her name.)

If you doubt what I have said, just keep in mind, the swing at the Palace. I bought it, brought it and installed it.
