I was greeted at the airport by a company rep and taken to the grocery store as I had requested. I was then taken to the most astounding tropical villa I had seen on the islands. How long were you there for? I checked out the DR Nights' website and all the packages offered seem to be for two of three nights. I really need a 'relaxation' vacation where I can unwind for a couple weeks. I'm thinking of maybe six or seven nights at DR Nights and then move on to another resort for the remainder of the trip.

My understanding, and I am no expert, is that she could file (in Colombia) that I wasn't financially supporting the child and the next time I were to enter Colombia I would be held by immigration and taken into custody, I don't know if this is true or not. I am quite aware that if I wanted to stay out of Colombia there isn't shit she could do to me but I have no intention of doing that, I spend a lot of time there and plan on continuing to do so.

I offered many times to move my ex-novia and my daughter to the USA and she has no interest in doing so, I was surprised by that initially but the family bond in Colombia is so tight that she could never leave her parents behind especially her mother.

It sounds like your ex is pretty smart. I offered my ex-Colombiana to come on a fiancee visa for 3 months. I would send her to English class, teach her how to drive, and she could get to know my family and my city to see how she liked it and if she would have any problem adjusting. She said no because she wanted to get married first. I just couldn't get it into her how stupid it is to permanently move to a place you have never been with people you have never met, who speak a language you do not know. She suggested that my family visit Cali to meet her. She was missing the point entirely. From there we broke up but remain friends.

What a nightmare. Having a child with a Dominican girl. I love dominican women but can you imagine the phone calls and stress of having a child living in the DR. I have seen many gringos with babies there. I had a novia who a daughter by a gringo. I got to know him. He was miserable but girl knew all the legal steps she needed.

The reason I want her to have the passport is so that she can have the option to attend a USA university when the time comes, a degree from a USA school holds much more weight in Colombia than a Colombian degree. It is much harder to obtain a passport when they get older, the best time to do it is when they are very young.

I have had intentions of moving to Colombia but have had some personal setbacks here in the USA that have delayed me. I have full intentions on obtaining a visa based on the fact that I am the father of a Colombian national. In order to do this my daughters mother has to sign papers stating that I financially support my daughter, I am not afraid of this at all because I do support her and would never even think of doing otherwise, not a lot of money but enough to make sure my daughter has what she needs. I travel there often and keep an eye on where the money goes.

The dominicana would be stupid not to cooperate for the passport. With the passport, when the kid comes of age he can petition for relatives to come to the states, he can get SS when you retire, she can sue for child support amongst many other benefits.
