I know what your saying Mr. E. but as an Amazon Prime member who lives in NYC, a lot of times it is the convenience of not having to get dressed, get in my car, get gas, crazy traffic, look for parking, people in the stores looking for confrontations, long checkout line, lady in front of me with 10 coupons or can't / doesn't know how to self checkout, go back to parking spot, car broken into, back in traffic and finally home and have a part missing-AARRHHH! And, how often do we just get that one item? You're going to blow more money out there. Yeah, I will GLADLY pay the 3 or 4 extra bucks with free shipping and in 2 days its right outside my door.

You just have to research and know your shit. I was about to buy something on Amazon yesterday. Before I clicked to buy it I said let me scroll down and look at a few reviews first. One review said it was 1/3 the price at the grocery store. I did a google search and looked on the Walmart site and they were right as rain. So I am taking my ass to Walmart to buy it. They condition you to assume Amazon will be cheaper when evidently it is not always.

I've never seen any value at duty free, I think they make their cigarettes a bit cheaper and one or two in your face bottles cheaper, I find most stuff to be more expensive for sure! Used to by my mom and girls perfume and carry it around to come home and find it cheaper, one other (last time ever) was drinking and brought a watch, look up watch at home on my couch way cheaper on internet!

Buyer beware as always; I often buy Atlantico Rum on the way back, which is slightly cheaper at the airport, and I don't need to pack it into the checked luggage.

You usually Find it in the airports. Some larger local stores have it. I think the average price is around $85 or 5000 pesos. Damn shame. I remember when it was $24 in the Bahamas nine years ago.

Night Runner. Thanks for the info. I may stop there on my way to Sosua in a couple of weeks. What are the asking prices, time limits and do they negotiate?. I heard the prices were fixed. Also any suggestion on what accommodations (rooms) to book. Any other info you might think is relevant in my preparation to go would be greatly appreciated.

There is a Blackbeard's forum in the DR section. I would be good if updated posts where there. There is much info Pre Covid, post re-opening, a little info starting to trickle in.

Chica prices are fixed 2500 p /1-2 hours, 1 pop. Book rooms through the blackboards website. I like the deluxe single rooms on the be floor. (second floor rooms opposite side of pool / restaurant).

Just returned from a week at BBs. While this was my first trip, I heard from MANY of the regulars (on station) that almost everything is back to normal. The biggest hassle I had was from the AA desk agent who tried to tell me that DR was not allowing PAX sans a recent PCL test. I showed the agent a copy of the latest country travel bulletin from the gov site and of course, she stated that it meant nothing as they could only rely on the guidance issued by AA. BL. She stated that I had to proceed at my own risk (no shit) and that I could be subject to being returned. Needless to say, there was NO issue with customs or immigration upon landing at STI.

While I spent most of my time at BBs, I did go to the beach almost every day and ventured into town only a few times. Nothing overly radical as I was just looking to relax. BB's featured two shifts of 10-12 ladies each, plenty of talent for most everyone present. All were very pleasant, some had a bit of drama, but nothing to get wound up about. Jenny's is open and busy as hell. I did do some booze pricing as the prices at Jenny's (booze) are the same as 2-3 places in town.

Headed back in Dec, let me know if anyone wants to join in.
