Thanks guys for the useful information on the condos, I agree with everyone here, if you are kind, considerate, and a overall good person, you will get further with the chicas, than just wanting to screw them. Obviously thats the goal but, I am by nature or at least try to be, a warm person to who ever I meet chica or no chica, I guess thats the key, I have notice some on this board bragging or boasting on How they come at the chicas nasty, or wanting to make slaves out of them, Wow. I think thats a problem with that person, and not the chica. That person, must have little datatk disease. I have had two similary, conversations with a few guys both in Sosua, and POP, this one guy bragged to me after hes done with a chica, or the f. Ing puta, as he refers to them, he physically puts them out, he says he gets a rush out of demeaning and then throwing them and thier money outside on the ground, like they are some sort of animal, I guess he expected me to go along with his, conversation or agree with him, but I gave him a look of disquist, once he saw my reaction, He quickly tried to change what he said, That he don't act that way with all the chicas just the ones that deserved it. I just walked away shaking my head, thinking wow what a jack ass. Thanks guys for listening. I was really bothered by these conversations. I will never treat anyone like that ever. Guys try to treat them with geniune respect, you will be amazed what youll get in return, a great time and self respect. Priceless!

I agree 100%, if you treat the chica with respect and treat them like human beings you you get a whole lot more, i have had chicas not acecpt any money from me, just wanted to spend time with some one who treats them right. They get enough of that dumb shit from there own guys down there, you think they want some american doing the same thing to them treating them like sh*%! NOPE!

Something I notice about DR in 3 years of going there is that most business places do not customer service, or treat the cunsumer with respect because he/she is spending there money at our place of business. When i go places and they act like that i let them that they are wrong and i will not spend my money here anymore and tell others not, and you will see some results.

I totally agree with the above never never never give authority to a latina even as much you think she is a nice person as soon that there are in a superior position over you they simply behave this way (despotic dictator) and I had experienced worst: met a girl in Costa Rica really nice and once back home send her ticket to come over in my country she had been in position to know some crucial and confidential info about my buisness and she turn to be a complete devil, *****, piece of shit, psycopatic jealousy completely controlling me, because of her blackmail of insuniation of knowng all type of confidential info then after six month her visa expired she went back home and call me back asked me to send her an other plane ticket so she can be back here and teling in a very sweet voice that she like me a lot and how nice it is to be together I just answer I will call her again tomorrow after hanging up I phoned my cell phone provider and had my phone number changed, end of story btw she was a hell of a good shag never enough sex with her always asking for more a three holer but before entering the back door I had to rimmed her wich I do not enjoy a lot but sill it was worth it.

I also love Blackbeard's tremendously. You have captured in detail what I've been hearing for some time, which I must thank you for. I think I'll wait until those two seriously crass, uneducated, and extremely disrespectful hostesses are gone. You have convinced at least me to stay away until they get their act together. I sincerely hope their management reads this forum, so we can hope BB returns to its previous prominence and not have this slant attached to their good reputation. Let's hope things change quickly. I miss this place, but I really hate wasting money on bad customer service. I like to get my money's worth and right now this does not appear to be the case.

I fear that I have given you the wrong impression. I was not pleased with the customer service of the "hostesses", but I assure you I got my money's worth in my 9 night stay at the resort. There are other ways to achieve your needs at BB's. A couple of the girls allowed me to use their phones to try to contact the missing parties. Even John personally tried to help sort out the paperwork which was causing confusion. I am certain that if I asked Jose to help me in this regard, he would have cheerfully done it. Jose's motto is "nothing is impossible. "

I spent nine glorious nights with 4 different girls, and I was in no way short-changed. I had a fantastic time. I can't wait to go back. Blackbeard's is still Blackbeard's!

At the 30 minute mark, I asked if this was a bad time to talk, and was again told two minutes. After a total of 45 minutes, Paola finally talked to me. This is not the excellent customer service I have become accustomed to at Blackbeard's! ...

Well, she had something to say back to me, but I didn't understand it, because it was delivered in rapido Espanol. But it was accompanied by head wagging and finger waving, and I am pretty sure it was not a dinner invitation. This is one rude woman. I am not making this up....

I had personally observed two other veteran guests air their concerns to John concerning these two ladies. John was very fired up, and pledged that there would be changes to this situation very soon. At this point, I also spoke to John, telling him how much I love this place, but that these two are poor representatives of the great hotel he has put together here.

I guess the biggest change is the departure of Charo and Jennifer, and the arrival of Paola and Luche, to supervise the girls. Like many other members of this board, I held Charo in the highest of esteem. Great person, who did an amazing job in what is pretty much an impossible situation, managing these girls.

I am sorry to say that the replacements, Paola and Luche, in my opinion, do not appear to be anywhere near being in a league with Charo. First of all, they speak little or no English whatsoever.

Granted, their business is based in Latin America, but their clients are principally North Americans. So if BB would like to maintain the strength of their American customers they would be better off training their two new managers to adopt an American Service and Support mindset.

Much harder for these managers to get trained in is conversing in the english language. This is going to be huge and nothing good can come of this for their ENTIRE customer base. That is, even the europeans are fluent in english and expect that language to be spoken as a baseline. Sorry to say BB is in trouble here.

I just returned home the other day from Blackbeard's visit number 6, dating back to one year ago. This was my longest stay, 9 nights. Nine might have been overdoing it for me, but somehow I managed to get through it.

I have always had a great and memorable time at Blackbeard's, and this visit was no exception. The problems I have encountered there have been few and far between, and hardly worth mentioning.

In a nutshell.- I LOVE THIS PLACE!

I guess the biggest change is the departure of Charo and Jennifer, and the arrival of Paola and Luche, to supervise the girls. Like many other members of this board, I held Charo in the highest of esteem. Great person, who did an amazing job in what is pretty much an impossible situation, managing these girls.

I am sorry to say that the replacements, Paola and Luche, in my opinion, do not appear to be anywhere near being in a league with Charo. First of all, they speak little or no English whatsoever. I do speak some reasonable, awkward Spanish, and I can make myself understood. But understanding others speaking Spanish to me is a whole different ball game. I explained this to the ladies on several occasions and pleaded with them to speak very slowly to me. They were basically oblivious this request. In fact "oblivious" would seem to be an accurate description of their overall personas.

Not only that, they both have curt, impatient attitudes. I am as polite and respectful as any guy who visits that hotel, and rarely confront anyone (and even then do so with courtesy).- but these two really mistreated me. One afternoon, they were seated in the patio area, doing there paperwork. I approached and asked for permission to sit down. Permission granted. Paula indicated to give them two minutes. No problem.

I wanted to ask them to phone a particular girl (let's call her Moca) to confirm my date with her for that evening. I had set this up with the girl 4 days earlier, knowing that she was then taking 3 days off to spend with her family over Christmas. I had spent time with this particular girl on previous trips, and had found her to be extremely dependable, but still I wanted to call and confirm.

Paola looked through her paperwork and informed me that Moca would not be working tonight, she was "infirma. " Paola explained to me that this meant she was having her period and would not be able to work. I told Paola that I thought this might be incorrect because I had just recently spoken to Moca, and I was confident that we were on. This went back and forth for 5-10 minutes. All I wanted was for her to make a damn phone call for me, and she insisted that tonight there would be no Moca.

The facial expressions, rolling eyes, and body language, and attitude of "whatever" being used by this woman were very unprofessional and downright rude. I was very put off, but I persisted and finally she relented and made the phone call. The phone was turned off, she said. She reiterated that Moca would not be here tonight. Ten minutes later, Moca walked through the door, dressed beautifully, ready for the evening with me. We had a nice dinner together at an off campus restaurant with another couple, and a wonderful night and morning together. Infirma my ass!

Damned if the next day and evening I didn't go through the same scenario again. Another girl, lets call her Franca, with whom I had spent the first couple of nights, was also due back from a Christmas visit to see her family. Same nonsense. Infirma. Won't be here. More attitude when I asked for their help. They obviously just wanted me to accept their declaration that the girl was sick and would not be here tonight, and leave them alone. It was like I was wasting their valuable time by requesting assistance to confirm an appointment with one of the girls. I have been under the impression that this is an important part of their job description.- assisting guests in arranging a successful pairing with a companion. Finally the call was made, and Franca's phone was off.

After the bikini contest, as the hour grew later and I had not heard from Franca, I again asked Paola to try the call for me. Ten minutes, she said. "NO! " I told her. I do not want to wait ten minutes. Yesterday you told me two minutes and you made me wait 45 minutes. She denied that, she said that was not true! What? I was there, and I did have to wait 45 minutes for her attention. I told her that if she did not want to do her job and help me that I would find someone else! I told her that I thought she had a bad attitude.

Well, she had something to say back to me, but I didn't understand it, because it was delivered in rapido Espanol. But it was accompanied by head wagging and finger waving, and I am pretty sure it was not a dinner invitation. This is one rude woman. I am not making this up.

Well, Franca did not show up until the next morning, but it was not because she was infirma. She was very apologetic. Her bus from the other side of the island had gotten in well behind schedule, she had rushed over to the hotel looking for me and was told I was out for dinner. She then walked over to Solo Meo (which she knows I frequent) to look for me, but I was actually at another off-campus eatery. I thought it was quite sweet of Franca to go to the trouble of trying to locate me. Certainly a display of customer service far superior to that which I had received from her supervisors. Her story was confirmed by a couple of hotel staff that I asked. Once again, Paola and Luche had given me incorrect information (and delivered it rudely). Infirma my ass!

But the point is that she was not infirma at all, but Paola and Luche did not want to hear it. It was like I was being looked down upon because I had the nerve to question the information they had written down in their notebook regarding girls' work schedules. If it was written down in their book, it had to be correct! What a bunch of crap.

In fairness to these ladies.- they have been on the job only a short time and it would be unrealistic and unfair to expect them to measure up to Charo, because Charo is, well, Charo. But You would hope that they would at least bring to the job an air of cordiality and customer service. I am sure that John will have this situation sorted out very soon.

Anyway, aside from those brief aggravations, I had a great time, and I can't wait to go back in April. Blackbeard's may have changed some, but it is still Blackbeard's. John still has time to talk to guests and make sure that everything is being done correctly. It is evident that John loves the place, and wants everything to be perfect.

Perfect it isn't.- but it is close enough to perfection for me! Paco, Jose and Martha in the office are an absolute pleasure, and are always interested if everything is okay. The restaurant and bar staff are a delight, I wish I knew all of their names, because they are all fun and wonderful. Carolina, Monica, and the beautiful Bonasa come to mind. The housekeeping staff (thanks, Santa) is tops. The new chefs seem to be doing just fine. It may seem like a silly comment, but the salads are greatly improved. I like salad. The new salads are larger and more varied. The several meals I had at the hotel, all different chicken dishes, were all very good. The special Christmas night meal.- roast chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad, pumpkin pie.- quite delectable indeed!

The girls did not seem to be out in quite the usual numbers, but the numbers were more than adequate for me. I am rather particular in seeking and selecting girls at BB's, and unfortunately for me, what I look for seems to becoming more and more scarce. I like thin, fit girls with a small tight butt, small to medium boobs, pretty face. There were 3-4 girls on hand that more or less met these specifications, so I was well taken care of and had a great time. Nevertheless, it concerns me that the trend of the roster seems to be moving away from my preferences. So many of the girls possess either a large butt, or too-big boobs, or extra pounds around the middle, or all of the above. I wish we could add some more slender pretty girls to the roster. Maybe that is a reflection of who their supervisors are. The two new supervisors do not appear to have missed too many meals lately.

Again, I want to stress that I truly enjoyed my visit. It is always great to see old friends such as Hilda, Mary, Josie, Isabella, Carolina, Andy, Leticia, Jary, Sonia, and others, and to strike up acquaintances with some of the newer girls like Luce-Maria, Madeline, Anais, and Elizabeth. Some of the prominent missing faces included Cristal, Yojanny, Joca, Kilsea, Miel, Joanna, Wendy, and of course Sirenita (suspended yet again! ).

As always I took tons of great photos of the girls, and they love the 8 x 10 enlargements I bring for them on every trip. This trip included a one hour visit to the beach for a bikini photo-shoot with two of my favorites. The results were spectacular! So for now, I will stare at my photos on the computer and look forward to another adventure in April.

Still cannot get over the isolation of BB's. No where to walk and explore outside of the place. I keep saying I will never go back, but I know they will see me again one day soon. Sosua is waiting for my mucho returns!

You are not the first person to say this, but I really don't understand it. From BBs you can walk hundreds of yards along the beach, and there are a few bars and restaurants close by. You can also walk to the small shopping plaza where there is a grocery, internet cafe, a pharmacy, and a few other small stores too.

The area around BB is very pleasant for walking.There are many beautiful flowering trees and hedges, winding lanes, breezes off the ocean, the ocean, the beach.

It is a very pleasant, relaxed setting--much more so than Sosua, which has nothing of particular interest other than souvenir shops, bars, and restaurants, plus a couple of discos and a casino (now two casinos, I think).

And you are only 10 mins by motoconcho from the center of Puerto Plata.

I read about this "isolation" of BB several years ago before I made my first visit to BB and the DR, and I imagined that it was stuck in the middle of nowhere, but it isn't at all.

I just came back from BB's a couple of weeks ago Dec 08. I was a judge in the bikini contest (again).

This was my second time at BB's and I know everybody has thier own opinion but I still love BB's. All the girls treated me like a king. Of course there were a few that really stood out. I am going back in July and will explore Sousa a little. Even though I am not too old (45) I am not into the "Hunt" I like the sure thing.

I had the itch to give BB's another chance after my Nov. Sosua trip. Stayed during the new year's eve week. They had a nice Friday night bikini party in the disco. No pictures allowed in the disco. That was the best night, not new years eve. I still like the BB's girls a little better than sosua. Had my freak on with Leticia, Isabel, Josie, Yanni. Girls performed well. 6 days is too long. 4 or 3 may be better. Still cannot get over the isolation of BB's. No where to walk and explore outside of the place. I keep saying I will never go back, but I know they will see me again one day soon. Sosua is waiting for my mucho returns!

No, it wasn't me. I was down in Feb of 08, and then again in August and just got back a couple of weeks ago (early December). I did run into JP on my August trip though.
