Now about this guest friendly budget hotel business, I personally do not use them. I rent Villas (2 and 3 bedroom houses with private swimming pools in the backyard). I rent SUV's to get around in so I am not dependant on taxis or motoconcho.

I dont seek out the company of other mongers as I prefer to run my missions solo. To me, BB is like a concentration camp. A set group of mongers in a small fish bowl passing around the same group of putas. That doesnt appeal to me.

You would be surprised what you can find on the roadside or just roaming around the downtown area of POP. Its not just the bars and nightclubs were chicas can be found. Semi-pros and non-pros are there to be found. Doesnt take much more than a smile and some spanish conversational skills to score.

With so much talent to be had, I see no reason to patronize establishments such as BB. You can do much better, and have a lot more fun on your own.

At 47, you are still too young for Type 2 status mongering. Leave that for the senior citizens with limited mobility.

The TYPE ONE MONGER

The type ONE monger is young, 20 – 35 years old, and speaks good to moderate levels of Spanish. This monger would be at the beginning of his career and have some, but limited disposable income, and net worth. What this monger lacks in means, he makes up for in energy level. A type ONE monger in his 20’s can stay out until 4:00 AM bar hopping, dancing, drinking and get up at 8:00 AM, bright eyed and bushy tailed. (for us Type TWO mongers I am 47 these days are long over)

The best Dominican Republic experience for the type ONE monger would be a guest friendly budget hotel in Sosua. There are many clubs and massage parlor establishments to visit and in the morning and day time the Sosua beach (the beach is real nice). The type ONE monger will spend $25.00 to $35.00 US Dollar a night for the hotel and another $20.00 to $25.00 US Dollar per day for meals. The type ONE monger will buy cases of Presidente at grocery stores to drink before heading to the bar and save money on beer at the clubs. He will spend $10.00 to $20.00 on drinks.

On chicas the type ONE Monger bargains hard. He spends only $30.00 to $40.00 on a short time, or $60.00 to $80.00 for all night. The type ONE monger is disciplined, if a chica does not lower her price the Type ONE monger moves on to another Chica. No problem the type ONE monger has much energy to find another Chica that will accept the lower price. The Type One Monger will spend $100 to $150 US Dollars a day on this Dominican Republic vacation and have a great time. He may write reports on the board that are entertaining and informative. Blackbeards is the perfect resort for the Type TWO monger. You can get a deluxe single room at Blackbeards for $45.00 a night. (the room is clean, the air works, and the showers have hot water) Meals and drinks will cost you another $50.00 to $65.00 a day, because you will be buying drinks and dinner for yourself and a Blackbeards Chica of your choice. The Type TWO monger doses not mind this at all because he enjoys the company.

The Type TWO monger does not enjoy bargaining for price with Chicas, it takes the fantasy of a girlfriend experience away from the situation. The type TWO manger likes the fact that the going price is pretty much established, $50.00 US for a short time and $100.00 all night. For all of you doubters, I have returned. I have been over in Amsterdam for a few months and have not had a chance to post. I will post picture when I get a chance. I can't believe all of the hating that I have read on this site about my excursion to BB's. The fact remains, I did what I did. I don't have any reason to lie. Nice got to disagree with you about the hot watter, it went from hot to cold, to cold to hot in my jacuzzi suite, once i went to a single deluxe it wasnt that bad though.

Some people have asked some questions so here are some answers. Ana Miriam is run by Frank and Ana. Frank was a businessman back in the states who was doing quite well. He went to the Dominican Republic and fell for Ana, sold his business, and moved down there. Ana was one of the chicas who got paid for sex. She used to hang around Blackbeards. So was actually very pleasant but always trying to get business for the other chicas. Many times Frank would show up and get intoxicated. The truth of the matter is that once you live in DR except for the exchange rate, the weather, and the chicas there really is not too much to do down there. This is why drinking is so prevalent. You can go windsurfing or scuba diving but there is not much diversity as there is in the cities of this country. Returning to Ana--one monger was offended by one of his buddies making a pass at Frank's wife. She is really no different than the other chicas at Ana Miriam. She's played the field and continues to do so. I used to believe otherwise but after talking to many chicas, talking to her, and seeing a couple of things, I found out otherwise. In fact, Frank would do Ana and another chica at the same time. This explains why Ana is so good at dealing with the chicas, the prices, and the setup of the place. Frank is the businessman and Ana irons out the details of price, the behavior of the chicas, and the fact that she is a citizen, and native, helps iron out certain complications (legally and economically). When the place first opened they attracted many tourists who waited until their wives went to bed to sneak out and lay some chicas at Ana Miriams. When I went there I approached a chica and she was quoting 4000 pesos. I looked at her like she was insane and simply walked away. The reason for this is because they were getting away with it by overcharging the tourists who were sneaking out. Frank was originally charging the salida at 500 pesos but had a dispute with his wife and she started complaining that it was 1000 pesos and that he did not know what he was doing. In fact, he was charging me the 500 until the dispute with the wife. He later changed it to 1000 and said that it was because I came there with a taxi driver and that the driver wanted a commission. I explained to Frank that if that was the case I would pay the commission out of my own pocket. He became evasive. Frank could not even did not even know the name of the taxi guy. This is kinda strange since he should know all the taxi drivers who go there. Frank is a good guy to talk to but tends to be stubborn and hates to admit his mistakes. The average tourist would not know all this since they do not speak the language and cannot find out through various sources what is going on. Also, if you've been there enough times you'll start seeing some of this stuff. If money is no object just go and enyoy. The setup is nice. Ana is okay but if you are an American you need to be careful since many Dominicans only care about getting your money. Ana is no different. She will always favor the chicas over you (I saw this with her at Blackbeards and still see it). I could not help but laugh when Frank himself had told me never to trust a Dominican and they can never be your friend. I found this strange since he married one and moved to DR. In other words, he's had some bad experiences opening up shop and living in DR! This is common when you look beyond the surface. About that chica who is part Brazilian. She's not. I know the chica and one of my buddies had a long talk with her. She just said this to drum up business. If I recall, though, she was fine. They overcharge at Ana Miriams. One can pick up a chica at El Classico discoteque for 1000 pesos, short term. From what I saw the chicas were fine at Ana Miriams but overpriced. Plaza Mambo overcharges because some of the chicas from Crystals go over there. You can always get them down. There are rooms in the back to do the chicas and I found some gems but it has more of a Latin atmosphere. When you add it all up you save money at Blackbeards. The last time I was at Blackbeards the quality was pretty good. It is not unusual to find someone running in there trying to drag mongers to go to Ana Miriams. Sometimes they get a cut. I recall one of the Englishmen living in DR taking me to Crystals and trying to get me to take a chica friend of his for 5000 pesos. I thought the guy was insane until I realized that he was getting a cut. In fact he was getting a cut for quite a number of things. Of course he will never admit this. One of my buddies in Sosua informed me of this. I was surprised at this but then again I was also quite naive at the time. The chicas pay Mercedes who whoever is in charge of them some of the money they make at Blackbeards. I've seen this with my own eyes and the chicas have told me. The chicas always dog the tourists. I've heard them myself and this is why you should always keep a distance from them except to have sex with them. There have been complaints to administration about this and I have met some mongers who have been to Blackbeards many times complain to me about the issue. One should just screw them than ignore them. One needs to understand that we are their on vacation. They live there and have nothing else to do but to gossip all day! Overall, though, the chicas are okay as long as you understand that they are this way. You just need to know how to deal with them. To give Blackbeards a fair shake I've met some nice ones and have had some good conversations but one needs to use discretion. It is not unusual once you have sex with one chica all the other chicas will know how you perform in bed. Many times they know what you like and don't like in bed. Many mongers who have gone to Ana Miriams, Crystals, or El Bohem say that the money was not an issue. I always tell them if this is the case then they could have gotten laid in the states and not pay the airfare and hotel cost to go to DR. Others say that even with the overpaying it is still cheaper in DR. My answer is why pay double the price for the same thing you can get half price! As for places being target or not targeted by the government this is the scoop. When the new government under Leonel Fernandez entered office the previous president Hipolito Mejias had bankrupted the nation by stealing money from the national bank. To counteract this the government had to reset the exchange rate from 50 to 1 to what is presently about 28.5 to 1. They did this gradually over time so many would not be aware of it. They also raised the interest on cd accounts to 32% so gain an influx of American money. Added to this the United States Embassy said they would give aid to the Dominican Republic as long as they took an effort to end prostitution. This is difficult since prostitution is legal in DR! So the Politur starting doing sweeps to show an effort was being made to end prostitution and to shake down the chicas for money. after the DR presented its case to the world bank (the case being that there economy was stable [despite the fact that many private banks were closing left and right in DR]!), they were granted international loans. After this the national bank immediately lowered the interest on cds (immediate like slash it by fifty percent). They continued to lower it even after this sudden downturn. I have some friends who have encountered some difficulty because of this. The United States continued to put pressure on DR but since DR is making so much money from the sex trade, in the Dominican Congress they emphatically stressed that prostitution was legal. The same pressure that the US put on DR they tried to do with Brazil but the Brazilians looked at the US government as if they were crazy. The US government took some retaliatory measures so the Brazilians did the same (if you have doubts check out the cost of a visa, for an American, to that country!). Now about drugs, minors, and not paying taxes in some of these places. These serve as good reasons for the closure of these places when there is no reason to keep them open. If you look at the pattern of closings in Santo Domingo some places they will not even touch. There are also some legal and economic implications for opening up some of these places (as I said earlier, this was the advantage with Ana being a citizen and native!). Talk to any American who owns a hotel in the Dominican Republic and he'll tell you stories. You'll really get an idea of what is really happening.

There are many places to visit. When I was there I went to Galactic, Babylon, Cubanita, Crystals, El Bohem, Longbeach, Mountain View, El Principe, Escape, La Chosa, Crescent Moon, Hemingways, and a couple of others whose name I cannot remember. One or two of these places are closed now but many are still open. In fact, I went to so many places I cannot remember half of them. I of course also visited Plaza Mambo and Ana Miriam on my other trips. I'm sure I've said enough.

I appreciate the details in your report, but I know from experience that a lot of people find it very difficult to read a report that is written as one long block of text. It's kind of like trying to eat an entire steak in one bite.

I know how this happens: You're banging away at the keyboard, putting your thoughts into the report as fast as you can write them. However, if you could hit the return key every few sentences while you're writing, and thus break your report into smaller paragraphs, your report would be much easier to read, which would certainly be appreciated by your fellow Forum Members.

I have to say I really enjoyed my time in DR this is a fantastic place. I took the advice of someone who posted a while back about The Field of Dreams Inn. Let me say this was a great choice. I have to say worth every penny and cheap at that $47! Billy is a fantastic host and he and his son gave me and the others a fantastic tour of the local hang outs. I have to say I am at his debt for that! I flew out from Los Angeles for the weekend and it was worth it! I cant wait to go back. Thanks for the great tips guys and I will have to sit down and give a more detailed report. In the mean time, happy hunting!

This place used to be called Luz Maria.

There are some nice chicas here.

They ask for 3000P which is paid to the bar. I think the bar share is 1000P.

The rooms are horrible. No air conditioning and no running water. Hot as hell and a bucket of water for a shower.

I know the two girls and found out they each got 3,000 pesos for their time. (They each work to raise and school 3 kids and you can't do that with a few shots of booze and somebody's "irresistable charm").

Considering we're getting sex for bargain-basement prices, no need to rip the girls off, either.

Took one out to eat last week and suggested we take the leftovers back in a box. Figured she could take it home and save a few pesos. (Her place was "furnished" with a small wooden table, two plastic patio chairs and a small fan to try to deal with the Dominican summer heat. Most of the money gets sent back home for the kids).

Welcome to the board and sounds like you had a good time. My experience with the BB chicas is that they are all about the cash, no matter how good the dick is. With that said, I am not here to argue whether you hit some chicks for free or not. If you did good for you.

Personally, I monger to get away from these American sluts and their fucked up attidudes not because I cant get any. I also do it to live out my fantasies (at greatly reduced costs). In DR, you used to get a fine ass girl for no more that 1000 pesos for ALL night, and pay 500 pesos for short time. Now some of the crabbiest biatches are asking 2000 pesos!!! Needless to say I have not been there for some time now and probably wont go anytime time soon.

Now that you've discovered this board, use and learn from it, teach your friends in the the hip hop community that there is no need to spend 100-200 USD on a chica in DR (maybe not you but some of your buddies are and spoiling these hoes rotten!!) when the per capita income in the DR is 6,000 USD per year. If you start traveling to other Islands , You will run into even finer ass Domincan chicks. what you pay or dont pay totally depends on the chic, your skills and whether or not the place and the babes have been spoiled.

Here are a few pointers:

This is a relatively small community and as you travel, you will encounter many familiar faces. Talk and get to know the lowdown on a place so as not to overprice the Market--(would u or your boys pay 600k for a bentley that u know costs no more than 350K?) You also have mongers here with different backgrounds and means--most of whom willing to share info.

With that said, there are different levels of mongering-there are places where they do have "upscale women" where a monger with unlimited funds can spend like there is no tommorrow. Understand the difference and adjust your spending accordingly. (South Beach vs a ghetto club). This not to say that these upscale women are any finer but its all about the marketing--think Lexus ES 300 and the Toyota Camary--same car, different marketing, huge difference in price..

Chicas: They are funny creatures and learn QUICK. Know the market and the going rate. Overpaying a low class chica more than her worth, fucks up the entire market as they talk to each other, raise their prices and give subpar performances. Would you pay an ugly/unknown video hoe, Esther baxter/Melissa Ford rates at $3,000+ a video? hell NO! But what about fucking a chica that looks even better for 50 USD All night long? know the difference between upscale babes/places and the regular or ghetto ones.

Once again-you are traveling in a country where the average person barely makes 300-500 USD a month if that, so understand where to flash the cash. Being low key and not attracting to much attention would be prudent. You will run into the haters. I also dont need to tell you that platnum chains and the rolexes can also stay home.

Lastly, other than understanding the market and what it can bear, know the cultural differences. Most latin men, being macho treat their women like shit. I dont condone this type of behaviour and this is also one of the reasons why these chicas love foreigners, the other being our money. Some of these babes are fucked up in the head and will exploit any perceived weakness(they will try you). So do treat them nice but be quick to dismiss them should they get out of line. Pay them the going rate or go home empty handed if the price is outrageous. Do some of them fall in love? Of course, they are also human.
