I called and let the lady know when I will be arriving. We setup a meeting for Hotel Barcel Lina in Santo Domingo. We are meant to meet and then head out to the apartment.

What's your opinion of hotel Matum.

I just stayed there for three days two weeks ago and it is fine. Be sure to get a room in the middle of the top floor (second floor) otherwise you will hear the incessant disco music every night after 11 PM. Matum has a large swimming pool although it is largely unshaded. The staff is fine and the room itself is fine.

Hotel jardines is ok. If you pay for 2 people you won't have any problem bringing in guests. The hotel platino is similar, but there is a gas station on the corner that has a restaurant. It fills up at lunch. You can people watch. Plus its a little easier to catch a cab. In either place its worth it to pay for the bigger room. Enjoy!

There are a few overpriced Italian cars that you can buy that will be a status symbol but will never work worth a shit. I used to own an Alfa Romeo that I could no longer afford the repairs for.

Then there are moderately priced Japanese cars that will run forever and always get you where you want to go. I have driven the same Lexus for 20 years now.
