"Proxenetismo"! These idiots of the Fiscalia (equivalent of District Attorney) just woke up from a long slumber prodded by someone higher up and discovered an exotic concept.

Upon further research, Casa Blanca was raided back in May and they seized over US $900 K from the premise. Interestingly, nothing was mentioned about sex or trafficking or pimping. Could it be money laundering of some sort is involved?

This YouTube video shows the luxury vehicles seized, among them a Range Rover, Porsche Cayenne, and a Nissan GT-RR (wow). You can also see a couple of those big-butted Venezuelan women (fully clothed, however).

Casa Blanca was in fact busted once before in 2006, and Pasion back in 2013. Not sure if they mean business for real this time.

Someone did not get paid on the upper Echelon scale.

The same operation just 2 miles east at the International Car Wash on the Autopista requires a 1000 peso exit fee and hasn't been touched. I've tried to get a few of the girls to meet up early in the day before they head to work. You get a clear feeling that they are terrified to do so for fear of upsetting the bar owner. Somebody didn't get a cut.

I've lived here two years and have been advised by my step son to stay away from Pasion. Odd that the university students know.

Chef Brian at Romanoff. One helping was 400 pesos, in a scrumptious ginger sauce. I had two helpings. No more dinner. LOL.

I presume the meat was fresh and local but like in any third world country it was bone and all. See photo.

Goat meat is quite cheap in Florida, but has a lot of bones and fat and comes from Australia, of all places. I wonder whether the goat meat in supermarkets in the DR is local or imported. You would think it would be local, but you can never be sure these days. 180 pesos per pound is pretty expensive if it includes a lot of bone, not so bad if it is all lean meat. Goat meat is very tasty, when you can get it done right. I quite like the Jamaican curried "go-ut", but the Dominican stewed goat with wine sauce is good too. Mannish water is also a form of goat soup from Jamaica that is supposed to have an aphrodisiac effect. It should be effective for old goats everywhere.

Actually, it is not a wine sauce, the one the locals use but one made with rum. It is the only dish that, I am aware of, where this product is used. While in other countries it is widely used in cakes, tarts, sauces, creme, flambees. Dominicans don't. Here in Bocachica the Ole does not sell it and one gets it at the local butcher. They are native to island and driving in the country side you see plenty of them. I remember that in NY you could by leg steaks with just the bone in the center and 0 fat,.

I am particularly fond of chivo (goat meat) but it is expensive. I can get it in a few restaurants but it is all frozen and tasteless meat. I asked a young lady to cook it and gave her money. She made it at home (with 4 pounds at 180 pesos a pound) that was enough for her mom and brother as well. She brought the stuff to the hotel and I had bought some steamed rice to go with it plus water and a fruit juice for her. Had a great lunch, followed by a short siesta and then some languorous sex. It is 94 degrees outside. She just left. God bless the Island and its inhabitants.
