    Motorbike?

Will you guys let me know please. I know the first thing you're going to say is don't do it, it' dangerous as hell. I know, I've seen friends die in Thailand. But is it possible to rent a small motorbike there in Santiago, or Sosua, or Puerta Plata, or even, or the capital. If so, how much, you think. 200 a day. 300. 400.

    Thanks alot in advance.

Please do not go with Emilio, the dorky guy with glasses driving a white Toyota Camry, I am so pissed of I can still remember after more than a year (look at my past reports for details). He actually talked Hotel Matum staff into walking up to my room and knock and walk in and threaten me when I was there with my chica the foll. Morning after all I went thru the fist night, worst experience ever with a taxi driver. On the flip side I really got a decent and nice guy driving a red taxi but I don't have his details. I don't know for sure but maybe the red taxis are better? I would definitely go with one next time though I am renting my own car these days.

The close to the monument one gets I heard the better the places get. I don't think this is true but whatever. I was thinking of looking at this place.

Albertos Suites in Santiago has gotten decent reviews. I have not stayed there. Seems it is located about 4-5 blocks from the Monument. Price is inexpensive.

Around the Monument there is Matum Hotel and casino with a popular food cart out front that sells empanadas. Empanada food carts on the sidewalks are popular in Santiago. Montezuma Bar and Restaurant in front of the Monument is an easy meeting spot for Santiago chicas, good service the times I was there, you can buy a beer while you wait for the chica to arrive. Kuka Macara restaurant is located next to Montezuma. El Tablon with outdoor seating is a place for food drinks that faces the monument. Wind was a new restaurant that faces the monument. One street behind where Montezuma is, there are several small bars, that street can get a lot of people on a weekend night. Ahi Bar is located somewhere close to there and is popular.

    9 p. M, you won't make it. Good decision.

The reason some people are looking for info on getting a taxi from STI to Sosua is that there are several flights that get into STI after the last bus goes to Sosua. I have taken a taxi several times and know the bus system as well as anyone but you can't take a freaking bus if it it isn't running dude.

Most leave every hour, like Carib Tours, two terminals, paradas, in the city, and then there is Cibao Lines, I don't know their schedule. Cost is about 300 pesos. Cheap. When you get off the bus, take a motor concho, motorbike, unless you have a lot of baggage, take a taxi. No more than 200 pesos from the bus to a hotel downtown Sosua. ALWAYS ask the price before taking alternate transportation.
