I just arrived here after 8 nights of heavy mongering in Sosua, so have been feeling a bit 'shagged out', literally! I will report fully on Sosua at a later date, as I will also be heading back there in a few days. After the relative peace of Sosua and the north coast, arriving here yesterday during the rush hour was a total shock to the senses, with all the traffic, pollution and constant car horns and alarms going off.

Thought the area of the bus station where I arrived with Metro looked a bit calmer and nicer than downtown where I am staying, so headed up there today by taxi, walked to the 2 shopping centres nearby just to check them out. As I said, have been feeling pretty tired, so so far have just been checking out the ladies, a few nice ones in and around the shoping mall, but was not exactly stunned by them.

Earlier on today I decided to take a walk to this bar 'Selena' that Blk Big Bootyluv was talking about. Found the right street, and walked up and down it both sides of Avenida Francia but could not find it. But stupidly I did not write down the number before I set off. Is it definitely still open? Could you please advise me though, is this place open during the day, and if not around when does it open, and would it be safe for me to walk there in the evening from downtown, Calle del Sol? By the way, I am medditeranean looking if that helps! I agree with you that walking down Avenida Francia seems middle class, but Avenida Franco Bido is a fairly rough looking street full of small repairshops and businesses. And last thing, is it called Bar Selena or Bar Salinas, as you quote both names in your posting?

I have a couple of other random questions that I cannot find the answers to on the previous 20 pages, if anyone could help with these it would be greatly appreciated.

Are Casa Blanca and Illusions near to Passion, so if I did not like one would be easy to check out the other? Any ideas which has mores curvy ladies and less barbie dolls, which are not my type at all.

Hotel / Casino Matum, worth checking out? Do pro's hang out there, and what is the name of this restaurant next to Matum that was quoted.

Where is the international car wash? Are there any other good ones?

I would apprecaite any advice because tonight and last night have been wasted mongering wise, well at least I will be able to recharge my batteries. Tomorrow I definitely plan to get some action.

Passions is on the road heading toward santo domingo, there are about 8 cabanas one after another on that road. Ilusiones and casa blanca are on a different road. Ilusion and casa blanca are about 2-3 blocks from one another on the same road. That road heads toward Moca. One guy picked up a chica from some chica who worked at a food cart, I believe near the texaco gas station. There is a texaco gas station on ave estrella sadhalla. At that intersection with the texaco, you take ave juan pablo duarte east to get to ilusiones and casa blanca. Friday and Saturday nights, santiago gets going. Monte Bar is usually busy every night, try to visit MOMA, Overlounge, francifol, Camus, Dubai to see non-pro chicas. The Hodelpa off calle de sol has a casino where some pros hang out.

Late at night beware street walkers around the monument, they looked like transvestites when I drove by in my car.

I have never visited a car wash in santiago, so I can't help you with that. If you have a car you may want to pay a taxi driver to show you where different venues ar located, you can follow behind him in your car.

I think I stopped in that place once years ago. A few blocks away is Hotel Tropicana or Tropical. A real dive. I used to go there when I was staying at Colonial and was bored as they were open in the daytime and cheap cold beer. Also the first time I went there was a cute girl 7.5 or 8 with a nice body and she quoted me 500 pesos, on site or in my hotel. Seemed to good to be true and I was sort of beat. She sat with me for 3 hours, we drank beer, made out, fondled each other and when I left she asked for a tip to buy lunch. Gave her 100 pesos and she was happy.

Of course this may have been 6.7 years ago. The few times I have been since there were not any chicas as cute as she was and most were lets say "less than attractive but. If you hit Billboa it may be worth a stop just on the somewhat slim chance of a diamond in the rough.

Prices are 400 peso bar fine 1000 or less for the girl. You can have them in the bar for 800 pesos. A few notes about Pasion. Buy your beer outside at the restaurant / bar. Its 150peso large presidente or 100 small. Inside its 325 first large one and the waiter will most likely pocket 25p tip without asking you. They told me the next drink inside is cheaper but I did not try. I was so pissed I will never get a drink from the waiter inside. The loco chicas made me do that. Next, if you really find a cute one and you are not confident to take her back to the hotel all nite for the huge price just go to the cabana for an hour, which will still be 2500 to 3000 (tln runs from 4000+) , those are my numbers, I am sure others have theirs. Even for ST price goes up if she has to leave the premises. Never take one back for TLN unless you are really comfortable and make sure you use the pasion guarantee that if chica leaves earlier than promised you can go back and get a refund. Take her with you to the guy at the outside restaurant and finalize the terms. Threaten to call pasion if she starts making excuses.

Now, I had no problems with this gal that I would fully recommend. She stayed till 11am before I had to leave for my flight and agreed for a last pop (4th) just before leaving (for a small tip + her 4k pesos for TLN). Just let her take charge, she knows how get the job done.

I have eaten at bot those places food is ok. They both have live music i like the open air resturant better no particular reason other than the view. Both are a bit pricey took a chica there we spent 3k RD. We had a 4 both had 4 course meals wit drink. Although tht was considerly cheaper than any nice resturaunt in the US, however i dont go to DR for fine dining. My. 02

I was there last night. The one guy at the restaurant/bar outside the main club speaks good English. He tells me Pasion is now open 7 days a week. Use him for any translation services. U could still get ripped off. 3 out of 4 girls I got back to my hotel so far have been runners, finding some excuse to runaway and not stay the promised duration. The biggest problem is they make you pay upfront. I think that can be negotiated with the guy, next time i'll try that. There are some stunners there, but they quote real high prices right off the bat. I had 3 last night ranging from 2k pesos to 3k for 1hr. have some pics for later. The cabanas there are average at best with the showers not working. B.t.w. I drove around at night and the car washes were closed.
Today, I am waiting for my bags to arrive (American screwed it up as usual) so i can start driving to Sosua.

I promised my friend Big Up, that I would take photos of Pasion in Santiago. I took these photos at night during a light rain so they are not the best photos. Pasion is located a little way past Zeus Cabana. Pasion has a large parking lot with guys who will help you park and watch your car. Inside Pasion there are probably 50 tables. I was early, but many tables had bottles of cranberry juice already on them in preparation for the customers who would come in later and buy bottles of vodka. A few chicas were sitting on sofas near the entrance, I did not get a good look at them. I had two chicas from Moca with me who wanted to return later in the night to Pasion in more sexy clothes, so I stayed only a few minutes in Pasion.

I have driven many a time to Santiago from Sosua on the mountain road. It is safe and usually not much of traffic. For the first time driver at night maybe a problem because of the fog and twisting roads. But daytime is not a problem.

I have made it in 45 minutes from sosua town to near the Casino in santiago where the monuments are. I do not know where the airport is. I have never taken the national highway via Puerto Plata. It is very crowded especially during the daytime and for a time I believe it also goes through the mountains. Location of STI maybe right on the highway. If you can negotiate the local roads in Santiago it is better to take the mountain road.

That narrow mountain road that you can pick up from making a turn near plaza hache in santiago and brings you to some sugar cane field between Puerto Plata and Sosua. I would not recommend that road. The road is narrow, no guardrails in some places, sometimes part of the road is washed out reducing it to one lane, pedestrians walk on the road, many curves and tight bends where you have to worry about coming head on onto another vehicle coming in the opposite direction or hitting a pedestrian because other vehicles have boxed you in. Too much work for me that road.

I have a wifi capable phone with international data ablitites. I just used that everyday while I was there. My cellphone company had a international plan.

I wouldn't ask the hotel staff where the bar is. Just grab a taxi and tell them where you want to go, believe me they know. It shouldnt b more than 120rd in the day and up to 180rd at nite. I have become a firm negotiator after this trip, I hope that you are too.

Passions has great quality of pros but I its overpriced and you are rushed after one ledge no bueno.

I have the sprint evo. I called sprint and they said voice and data should work fine but they wouldn't guarantee the gps (google maps nav or sprint nav). I hope it works, has anyone tried it?

b.t.w. BigBlkbootylvr - I ate the open air restaurant next to Matum last time. I was the only one at that hour and made some eye contact with the lady behind the counter. I had no clue she was available. Not sure if we are talking about the same person. Do you have her name of the waitress you did by any chance? thx.
