Hey guys, I have been to Santo Domingo many times within the last 3 years but I have never been to Santiago before. I am limited in my spanish but seem to do well along the Conde. I am traveling there this december for 28 days and want to give Santiago a try. Question?? Is there an area in Santiago similiar to El Conde in Santo Domingo ??? What is the best side of town to stay ??? Are the ladies as easy as in SD ?? Any suggestions??
Thanks Lew

I will be in the DR for three weeks starting Oct. 14. I hadn't planned to stay in Santiago very long but this thread makes it sound interesting! I need to read a lot more posts and then I'll have a few questions. I hope someone out there can help me.
Negro, your posts have been great. I hope you have not disappeared from this board.

I have a trip planned to DR over the New Years holiday. I'm arriving Santiago the 30th, and plan to stay there for a couple of nights, both to rest up from the long trip from the west coast and to avoid too much travel hassels over the holiday. After that intend to spend several nights in Sosua, before returning on the 7th to USA.
Is the New Year a big deal in DR? Will the pros be on holiday, or will they be working?
I am low key, not a party animal but enjoy a fun time. At 57, although I am in good shape, I don't kid myself about being a player for the young women. So I stick to the P4P action, but do enjoy treating the right woman to a nice encounter (i.e. dinner, dance, etc. if she is in to it). Because my time is limited, does anyone have any suggestions for how to meet women in Santiago that would be available?
I speak okay Espanol, and always try to learn about the places I visit like a tourist in addition to the time spent with the ladies.
This is my first trip to DR, most of my travel has been in SA.
Thanks for any ideas.

I will be in Santiago this week for three days, and I need a taxi driver to take me out of town for work. Of course, I am looking for one who is not only honest, but is good at scouting up non-pro talent in the small towns I am likely to pass through on my way to the city of Dajabon.
Please post or PM any names or connections you might have. Any advice on Dajabon would also be appreciated, as there is little posted. Thanks F

I love Santiago and have always set things up in advance with girls I know and have them meet me there. I will say I have yet to meet a Taxi driver that could not set me up or at least point me in the right direction to find what I wanted. Several have asked me and never asked for any kind of a tip etc. I assume that you are trying to do the same thing. If you know some girls that are working or need to make a few extra dollars.....it seems very possible to me that you are....you are doing nothing more than the Taxi driver whom is just offering to help. When I first started to go to the DR I was not just wet behind the ears I was dripping. I meet a veteran...perhaps like yourself...who took me under his wing and helped to show me the way. If that is what you are doing....I say thank you and I may PM you in the future for advice.

Thanks much for your input, it is very appreciated! I booked last night and the rate was $140.00 per night. I tried to get the breakfast vouchers like Tits N Toes suggested, but they said it was some sort of promo they were running, I try for again when I get there.
I know it's expensive but I will look around for something more reasonable for future trips.
Thanks again!

I never said that the girls were not out there doing it and lieing to people.
What I am saying is everyone knows. Everyone knows. Just like like the girls know your a pimp. You get $$. They get $$. Your NOT doing this to help your fellow gringo. Without getting paid. Or either are your "girls".

Thanks a whole lot for the information. I tried to send you a PM with my questions, however I dont believe you have that function working.
The PRO action in the casino is encouraging, kind of like a little built in candy shop, which will be needed because I dont thinks that these normal girls will hit the sack on a first date. As far as a regular girl it is my intention and maybe just a dream to actually settle down with somebody.
I have no intentions of hurting anybody in anyway. It's hard to get a clear reading on these girls because they seem to be possesive.I am a grown man and I am realistic. I do realize that they want an opportunity to expand there lives however the girls that I am talking with are genuinely sweet people, I dont think it's all an act.
You are correct that the key with the ladies is a knowledge of Spanish, mine is OK at best, although it has gotten better since my steady communication began. I'm actually honing my language skills with some private tudoring now before I arrive later this month.
Everything is pointing towards the presence of nice, sweet, sexy, educated normal girls in Santiago, if that is what you are looking for I have a good feeling it's the place to check out. I do know that this board is mostly geared toward P4P, so to those I do apologize for going on and on about this subject.
If nobody opposes I will post both my PRO and NON-PRO experiences once I get back.
Thanks!

Posts: 220I agree 100% with the report and will add my recent experiences at the same Hotel. Fridays is open. There is a nice gym at the Hotel just behind the pool. I have stayed three times in th past four months for several days. The first two trips I was with the same girl for a few days. I was on the 5th floor "Club" level key access etc. No problems, they check the girls ID and all was great. As to the cost for this floor it is not cheap and it is not worth the extra money.
I love the Hotel over all and will go back. I did run into a little problem on my last trip in May. Same floor etc. but after two nights I changed girls for the next two nights. Went to sign her in and was told that there was a new policy that you could not change names (girls) etc. and be on this floor. I was pissed! For what I was paying I should be able to have an orgy if I wanted. I calmed down and said no problem I understand. I said I wanted to check out now 4 nights early and that I was going to the Marriott. I was asked to please wait. In 5 min. the Manager was there. She explained the new policy....and I explained I was leaving. She said she had a Jr. Suit on the 3rd floor that I would like, was cheaper and she would show me the room to see if I liked it. I did not problem.
During my stay I never had a problem during the day with security. At night I was stopped a couple of times so they could check the girls ID to see that she was registered to my room etc. I should also add that the girls were always dressed up and they did not stand out from any of the other guests there. No heavy make up etc. I stayed for two more nights with the girl I had arranged and then checked out and went to the Marriott.
I went to the Marriott and stayed in the Presidential Suite (the only suite they have) because I had scheduled two girls for the last two nights and did not want any problems with checking them in etc. I have stayed at the Marriott 8 or more times in the past 18 months and know most of the staff and like the place. I have changed girls there daily before. They make a copy of the girls ID I sign saying I am responsible etc.
In my experience if you and your lady friend(s) are quiet, respectfull and dressed well you will decrease the odds of having any problems.
I will be returning to Santiago in late July (25th) for 3-4 days and 7-8 days at Blackbeards.

Posts: 14Hodelpa (both Gran Almirante & Centro Plaza)
Girl Hunter Sorry for the Delay... (I always start with IMHO and YMMV but here's MY take on the HODELPA'S)
Centro Plaza is on El Sol a few blocks south of the Monumento de Restauracion (maybe 8 or 9 blocks)
Prices are between $98.00 USD to $145.00 (more for a Large Suite) depending on HOW you book, WHEN etc. Rooms have AC/HW/Mini bar-fridge that you get a key for with no charge (unless you lose it).
I brought in the SAME girl for 3 days in and out without a second look.
I saw Gringos with (and this is not a Dis but most guys will understand) More PRO looking girls (HEAVY makeup, Scantily clad etc) but I didn't see them hassled either.
Gran Almirante I stayed there twice...Enjoyed both times...There is/was construction of what I think is going to be a "FRIDAY'S" next door so I think the area is coming up.
Rooms are $118.00 to $3-400 for top suites with concierge service...I stayed 2 different times for around $140.00 usd. Breakfast is good and they'll SOMETIMES give you vouchers but you have to INSIST when you book.
The Casino has PROS that mill about and gamble...just strike up a conversation after you observe eye contact and body language OR someone dressed like (come F*ck me)...There is always a Security guy at the door that leads from Casino to Inside the Hotel (at the Restaurant side) and I don't know if they'll let you through with a PRO...but if you get to know the DESK people...I think it would be better to walk out of the Casino STREET exit and then back into the main lobby, give a lil' wave to the desk and be on your way.
One night a female Mgr on Duty made me come down to get my girl who I had been with for more than one day...I came down and asked her why and she "claimed" that the FLOOR security guys wouldn't have let her up...Who Knows...but I haven't had any MAJOR problems.
I'm actually curious as to what would happen if you showed up with a different PRO nightly...
I would stay at The Gran Almirante AND Centro Plaza again...BUT as I previously posted I found some MEAGER (3500 DOP a week accomadations and no longer WANT to spend $140-160 usd when I can get along with Hot water/a bed and not much else...lol)
I actually like Blackjack 21 and do visit the Gran Almirante everytime I'm there...he ganado cada vez.
I said YMMV in ALL of these matters AND I'm a Santiago OPTIMIST so because I found cool stuff it's hard to EVER have a bad word to say...it's my personality as well but the girls and experiences have been VERY positive for me.
If your into fitness there is a gym nearby (you could actually walk if you wanted 10-15 minutes) Golds is in Centro Plaza for 250 dop a day (which strangely enough is nowhere near DOWNTOWN centro)
McDonalds and KFC are within walking distance and a Grocery Store for regular supplies.
If your Spanish is decent you'll have a ball, adopt a taxista (meaning use the same one every trip) and you may get extra info/tips...they all line up on the Casino Side of the Hotel.
Enjoy, Be smart, Be safe!
