One of the things that I noticed is that those from the USA seem to be sleeping on Barahona. Visitors from other countries run deep there.

If people are rolling thru they certainly are not posting about it. Or at least posting any details. These are mine:

Hotel Caribe - excellent value. Right in the middle of the action and walking distance to everything in the central part of the town. I pipeline my girls from the area on the dating sites or bring them with me. There is not "active" mongering scene like Sosua or Boca Chica. It's just cold approaches in bars, clubs, restaurants and the malecon. Nice thing is most places have open air seating. Like a friend or two, I am not a big club man but do like a patio style bar. It is not overrun by western tourists acting like idiots. The extranjeros rolling through tend to be on a higher level. And in the know.

Last couple items of note of note. If you are a coffee drinker or know someone who is the coffee in the yellow package with brown lettering at the supermarket is top notch in the area and not easily found in other parts of the island. There are also some independent brands I have never seen in any other parts of the island. There are also a lot of other great beaches but they are bit of a ride. Worth every minute in my opinion. Playa San Rafael is one of my favorites!

Another road less taken spot: Bani gots some hot chicas! And some good restaurants serving up the bird. Along with mangos that are not attached. Enjoy gentlemen. What you know about rolling down in the deep?

Well I am certainly glad some of you have have finally discovered Barahona. I have to agree. It is one of my favorite places and has been for years. It is good not to be afraid to travel. And remember gentlemen, the search function is a terrible thing to waste.

After I arrive, she has six plantains from the country for me. I've seen plantains sold on the street ranging from five pesos with a price ranging all the way up to 16 pesos in the store. The plantains she gave me are of excellent quality. They were similar to ones I that I purchased on the side of the highway when I returned from Barahona. (Yes, I said Barahona. It's further than two blocks from my house. No, I can't explain it. I guess you just have to ask Mr. GoGo. He made the statement). I can use two to prepare mangu for me. Mangu is one of my favorite Dominican dishes. Add some meat and a vegetable and you have a rather inexpensive meal now don't you?

Action is more low key and one club where most working girls hang. La Bodega. Rent a quad. Go to Playa Bonita which definitely deserves the name. You can eat French food from former chef to a former French prime minister or pizza and local fare. A bit further is Coson. Go to "donde luis" right on the beach with the freshest fish you ever had. Have to enter on a dirt road so quad is best. Many hotels can book a day trip to salto de limon which is very nice. The mule ride out to it can be scary but the salto is worth it. Another trip that is cool is laguna gri gri.

As far as the town goes for normal bars and eats, I like one love surf shack for Canadian breakfast and bar eats. Mojitos has great mojitos and a killer view with good cheap eats. Upscale I like tres caravelles. Maybe the best pizza I have had in DR was at la vita e bella.

(Visiting friends in Las Terrenas in a few days, but planning on taking my own place.) My attached friend tells me there are a lot of westerners with beautiful Dominicanas. Are they from the town or are these gents bringing amigas from elsewhere? Is Tinder or some other app useful in the area?

I'm planning to venture out to some of the beach towns on the south Coast. Not just Boca, I'm going to San Christobal, Juan Dolio etc. The purpose is mainly day trips on the weekdays trying to aviod crowds. That being said I wouldn't be opposed to mongering. Other than Boca does any towns on the south coast have a mongering scene? Sosua and Boca are the only places where you can pick up on the beach. Obviously the Santo Domingo and Puerta Plata Malecon's have pick up scenes, but I wonder about the other towns. I've met so many chicks from San Chirstobal that I wonder if they all just go to El Conde to pick up mongers.

When hanging out in locations where there are not a lot of tourists, how do you find local chicas? I am not sure if it is a good policy but it certainly is feasible if you are not picking women off the street and of course, you have to be able to know the market in peso and the ability to have a conversation with the locals. I spoke to a owner who is Dominican and owns a restaurant here. He received his formal training in the United States of America. He explained the food is healthier and of higher quality because of production methods and that the supply chain is shorter.

That is a very valid point. The length of the supply chain is a critical matter and of course meat can be flown but it would not make sense but for premium products. The taste of food, is certainly a factor of what has been fed and the length of time between production and consumption.

I also like vegetables a lot and in the DR, local fruits and vegetables are a major attraction for me.

I understand your point but for me, hormones do not make it better quality and chew-ability is not a prime factor. The taste of meat is more important. I have bought "res" in Playero, Sosua and stewed meat was really soft and tasty. I also had grilled meat (a potpourri of pork, chicken, sausage and beef) at the Italian restaurants and I imagine it was local meat and it tasted scrumptious. The point is: given a choice between free ranging animal meat and animals that are corralled, so that to disable their movement, to make the meat tender, I know what is my choice.

You have good taste in meat. I certainly think highly of chateaubriand in France and bistecca fiorentina in Italy but I know nothing of Argentine meat (never having been there) and while I certainly enjoy Matsuzaka, at $100 a steak and rice, it is not something I did on a regular basis and always on expense account.

The meat in DR is excellent and it looks delicious e g. at Jose Luis supermarket in Puerto Plata and at a lesser extent but still good at La Sirena and at Playero in Sosua. The problem of the hard meat is because it is immediately processed and packed after slaughtering. The dead animal parts should hang at least for 2 days and after that being processed. What to do to make the meat tender? At my time in DR I had that small fridges with a small compartment as freezer at the top inside. Under this a trays was installed. There was enough space to put the steaks and meat cuts. The temperature was slightly above 0 degrees celcius, so it was not frozing and the meat was kept fresh. After 2-3 days the meat was ready for preparation and the meat was tender and very tasteful. The meat get spoilt when stored in the fridge at normal temperature.

Their favorites often cost 1500 - 2300 for a bottle. And when I tell them how much I paid for my bottle they are amazed. How about that? But King's Label has no prestige attached to it. Because it is aged and bottled here in Republica Dominicana. But the juice originates elsewhere. Actually it originates where only Scotch is made. Because it is Scotch mixed with other whiskies and then aged and bottled. But no one notices like when you are sipping out the bottle of Johnnie Walker Black. Personally, my thought is: "Who gives a fuck what others think?" I just saved enough to go fuck a prostitute and still be drinking well. LOL! Now can I tell the difference between King's Label 12 YO and say for example a Dewer's 12 YO at 1500 DOP /750 ML. Damn straight I can. Because I make it a point to know what I am tasting and drinking. But can I say that Dewer's 12 YO is worth three times the amount that King's Label 12 YO is worth. Oh hell the fuck no! Do I have both on the shelf of the bar I had custom made in my home. I sure do. But that is because I was able to get the Dewer's 12 YO for 1190 DOP. Got to watch every peso I spend.
