Any specific info on Las Terenas would be appreciated.
I've been a frequent traveller to Sosua and SD and know the scene at those places quite well. In Sosua hooking up is like shooting fish in a barrel, a lot of hustlers and Mafiosas all over, the clubs, the pushy girls, the lies, you gotta get your game on, etc. etc.
What about Terrenas? I've been there for a short time, terrific little town. But where is the action? Not on the beaches, from what I saw. Pretty girls around, but no obvious monger scene that I could see. Could that be a good thing? But does anyone have any real experience here? Is it just a matter of sitting down and waiting for a sweet gazelle to walk by?
Would appreciate any help. I'm planning a longer trip there in May.
Thanks!

Hello sidney,
As I am doing hoyday in Juan Dolio now about 10 Jears, cannot understand why you are dissapointed. Shure, it is not so crowdy as Boca Chica, but, if you can passionate a bit, as I did, you can find vey nice girls, willing to give all what you want and not always waiting for the money. The best girs are not waiting in the bars. Ask a girl walking in the street ore a waitress in a shop or hotel, and you will be wondering, what happens.
Good luck!

spent 9 days in dominican republic in july. flew into santo domingo using continental, arrived around 11 a. m. rented a sub compact car from alamo, $415 dollars for 9 days. a chevrolet spark, i believe it is made in korea, did not appear to have air bags. has a plastic storage opening on the door, with a circular opening that was perfect size for a large bottle of presidente. i drove to the jaragua and had a few beers with a chica that i met online. i then drove to carrefour, a large department store on autopista duarte, where i met another chica, that i had met online. it was around 6 p. m. when i left carrefour to drive to samana, las terrenas.
there is new highway that goes to samana from santo domingo. there is one entrance, near the toll plaza, only in the direction, from the airport to the city of santo domingo. i did not know know this at the time, as i was driving away from santo domingo in the direction of boca chica. i drove past boca chica towards juan dolio. if you want to go to juan dolio you have to exit the highway where it says boulevard. i stayed on the highway. this highway doesn't have an exit for what appears to be 20 miles. i was looking for the highway to samana. eventually i pulled over at a bomba (gasoline station) and they told me the entrance for the highway to samana was back near the toll plaza closer to santo domingo. i got back on the highway and there were no exits and this highway is separated by two rows of metal traffic barriers. eventually i encountered one area where someone had cut through the barriers and i was able to make a u turn. missing the highway entrance for samana cost me extra 90 minutes.
the entrance to the new highway for samana is on a service road close to the toll plaza, that is between santo domingo and boca chica and the entrance is only on the side that goes towards santo domingo. there are about 4 tolls on the highway. total cost about 20 dollars. i don't remember any exits or any gas stations on this highway. they seemed to have built it straight through old plantations, small mountains and rice paddie fields. drove at about 80 miles an hour, faster in some spots. supposedly a dangerous highway with a number of fatalities, in that some people travel this highway at a higher rate of speed. the first hour i still had daylight, the second hour was night, one horse crossed the highway in front of me. second time that a dark horse has crossed the road in front of me in dom. rep. , the other time was at night in puerto plata, on the main road near playa dorado.
the highway to samana is not complete, where the construction ended i had to make a right onto a smaller road. there is no barrier blocking the highway, where the construction has stopped. i then drove the local road on my way to las terrenas and the hotel gran bahia el portillo. dark road with some mega potholes, hard to see them at night. various locals and motoconchos along the road. drivers in dom rep sometimes will not take off their high beams. also sometimes motoconchos without lights and other assorted vehicles with broken headlights and tail lights. i would not suggest doing this trip at night.
i finally arrived at the hotel at 10pm. i had the chica from santo domingo in the car with me and this was the first night i had spent with her. this hotel is o. k. , kinda of expensive. mostly europeans and families from england.
the next day i drove to las terrenas, there is a small airport outside the hotel gran bahia el portillo. las terrenas has a road along the beach. i visited the hotel alisei, seems like a nice place, non-all inclusive, some of the rooms have kitchens. i ate at the restaurant in hotel alisei, the food was good. waitress was from argentina as was some of the other workers there. some people use all terrain vehicles to get around in las terrenas. i would probably stay at hotel alisei the next time i go las terrenas. i drove around las terrenas in the day with my chica in the car. i didn't see any working girls, i did not experience the nightlife in las terrenas. the next day, sunday, i checked out of the hotel and drove to playa rincon.
along the way to playa rincon i passed where they have tours for limon falls, guys stand in the road trying to get you to stop, to get you to take a tour of limon falls. i saw dominican women on horseback. playa rincon is over an hour from las terrenas. i passed the other bahia hotels. samana bay and others. gran bahia has one hotel on an island and a boat has to take you there. the side road to playa rincon is not the greatest, about 6 miles on a semi paved road, a few places just with gravel. playa rincon was beautiful. drove up to the beach, parked the car on the sand. no other people there, in the middle part of the beach. at one end of the beach there is a fresh water stream with some outdor bbq type places to get food and beers. i fucked the chica in the water and got a blowjob while standing next to her in the car. we had that section of the beach to ourselves. afterwards i ate at one of the shacks at the far end of the beach, they sell the grouper (mero) by weight. the one we got was three pounds, the guy guts it, then they season it and place it on the pit to cook. not sure where they get their water from to clean the dishes. the fish was delicious, had it with tostones and three large presidentes. price was under 30 dollars, maybe i got charged higher foreigner price. afterwards drove back to santo domingo and checked in at that the jaragua hotel. not sure how the mongering scene is in samana. it was a good experience to see that part of the island. playa rincon is one of the best beaches i have visited, especially since a good portion of it had no other people. if you do decide to drive to samana, my advice is drive during the daytime. once off the highway the roads are curvy and up and down, with ditches along the sides of roads in many places, as well as some large potholes. much, much easier driving in the daytime.

Does anyone have any info on these two towns. I have read reports on Barahona, but it seems quite a long distance from these towns. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Sailor02

just got back from barhona. many trips. typical girls available. the best place is on malecon near the Los Robles cafe. strip is well attended. couple of bars off the park square that usually have girls in there.
Costa Lamair is located on the other end of the malecon, it owned by an american "joe". i never had any trouble but they will hassale you to register and then want to charge you more. a better choice is outside of town about 5 kilometer. playazsul small, armed guards but best food in town an discrete. stay away from the receptionist as i have already been to meet moma. another place about 10kiometers out is on the left, cheap but no problems.
happy hunting
