Yep, and you still haven't read the Mo'Bay forum either.

Friday night is Pier 1 night and everyone goes there on Friday night. You will need to take a short taxi ride there. No point to go anywhere else really on Fridays.

In the Mo'Bay thread there is a post, by myself, titled "Friday Nights at Pier 1" setting out exactly how to get to Pier 1 and what to expect there.

Friday nights at Pier 1 is probably one of the best nights in Mo'Bay so have fun. If you got Saturday free too, then I suggest you head to Moods (assuming you are not trying to score with a non-pro while you wait for your Kingston girl). Moods often has a freaky show on Saturdays (live fucking and sucking on stage) which is something you must experience while in Jamaica, it's so much better than live sex shows in Amsterdam or Thailand.

Sunday can be a bit quiet, but gather lots of numbers at Pier 1 and at Moods and you can set something nice up for yourself then. (Get a cell phone, it's only about USD 25 and a good investment to make your trip better.)

They also travel to other locations, check them out at Knutsfordexpress. Com.

    Thanks.

That's actually a very good price and would certainly be a good option. It would cost that much on a JUTA shuttle just from the airport to Ochi. And it would be a lot more comfortable for her than a route taxi.

    Good find!

but get a jamaican behind the wheel of a car and all of a sudden that sense of urgency you expected at the restaurant emerges in a hell bent fury to get there even a millisecond faster than the speed of light. there are only two foot positions in a jamaican car. all the way down on the gas or all the way down on the brake. you'll get overloaded trucks that think they are as quick and nimble as a motorcycle as they weave in and out of heavy traffic. and you never know when someone will stop on a busy highway to chat with someone on the side of the road.

i drive there now, but only on very familiar roads and usually at the very least somewhat scared and sometimes deeply terrified. for me, the freedom to move about at my own pace is worth it and it actually costs less than all of the taxis i would hire during even 1 day, and i have access to private parking at most of the places i need to go.

I agree with F&S, unless this woman (or any woman in Kingston) is something special, I would just stick to the women in Mobay. Go downtown and you will meet more than enough fine women. Hang out at the patty store and offer them some lunch or something.

I have not been to Kingston yet, and I don't have anything negative to say. I will say my experience in Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta were different, because you had city girls and country (or beach) girls. My point is the level of sophistication between the two were obvious. You may have the same experience with King / Mobay girls.

Like I always say to my friends: Don't bring sand to the beach.

Using locals for transportation takes careful negotiations.

Otherwise I would tell her to find a local that wants to make a buck (there is an island full of them!) agree on a price you are willing to spend and have her and the driver meet you at the final destination for payment. I wouldn't pay for anything upfront in jamaica. That's just how it is down there. If she is on the up and up this should be no problem. Same with the driver.

IMHO you are looking at $100/150 for the ride.

There are city buses and route taxis that go from negril to mobay. No idea about kingston though.
To be honest, I would not spend the money on importing a girl all the way from Kingston to Mo'Bay. There's plenty of local honeys for you to have fun with in Mo'Bay plus you can't really ditch her if you get bored

But if a particular girl has taken your fancy, and you really want to take her to Mo'Bay then have her take route taxis. It's only USD 12 and pretty much just as quick as having a driver take her. Even if she says that she wants to take a charter taxi all the way and for you to pay for it she won't do that. She will then take route taxis to Taxi Central or the airport, then a charter taxi from there and pocket the difference.

Or, why not head up to Kingston to visit her yourself? Gives you a very different perspective on life in Jamaica to be sure so is pretty interesting, but be careful since Kingston is not safe but it's fine if you are with a girl that you feel you can trust.

Also what type of electric services to they have there? Is it 110v or 220V.

Voltage is the same as the USA. If it works in the USA it will work there. That has been my experience.

A cell phone is also a must have accessory if you want to try to get with a non-pro girl, or two non-pro girls.

There are two options to acquiring a local cell phone, bring an unlocked phone from home and buy a chip for 500 jamaican, or buy the cheapest local phone available which will cost you about 2, 000 jamaican. You will need to show your passport to get the chip since that is jamaican law, so take your passport with you to the store or you will have to go back to your hotel and get it and stand in line again. Making cell phone calls and sending texts is very cheap in jamaica, so don't load your phone with more than 500 jamaican of credit for two weeks. Topping up is expensive, so do a big top up in the store when you get your phone / chip.

There are two digicell stores that I know of in Mo'Bay, one on the hip strip towards the end (close to Buccaneers / Jolly Rogers so on the opposite end from Margaritaville) and one in town. The one in town has a much better selection of phones, and going into town to get your phone / chip is a good way to go on your first venture into down town so my recommendation is to head there in the morning of your second day in Jamaica. To get to downtown digicell, either ask a taxi to take you there (for 300 jamaican) or take a route taxi, get of at taxi central, and walk straight down the street past the gas station and a bit further. The digicell store is on the left side of the street.

Having acquired your new cell phone, go have some lunch and as a challenge try to get the waitress' phone number. Then walk over to the local shopping mall, and flirt with girls that are hanging around, that work in stores etc. This is so much easier than you think if you do it with a smile, act nicely, etc. Say things like "I just got a new phone, do you mind if I try it out by ringing you?" Believe me, this will get you her number in eight out of ten cases. Then ask her what she is doing for dinner, ask her to have coffee with you, or something. Make it your mission not to return from downtown with your new phone until you have the number of five hotties! .

Some more musings / tips on cell phones:

Don't lend your phone to girls or anyone else without watching carefully, since they will text themselves credit from your phone otherwise.

You can use your home cell phone on roaming too (US phones work in Jamaica) but this will be expensive, and girls and other mongerers will not want to call you since it's expensive.

Put your phone on silent. When jamaican girls call you and you don't pick up then they will phone five times at least which is annoying even if your phone is only on vibrate.
Above posted in the Mo'Bay thread by myself three threads back. What's that saying about leading to water again?

Just get a sim card and add about $10 to the account. I call the states a couple times a day, usually 20-60 min per call and that will last for most, if not all of my trip. Local calls are super cheap as are receiving calls from the abroad. It is part of a Jamaican initiative to make first world communication options available to all Jamaicans at an affordable cost.

You may be able to get one at the airport. If you are staying on the strip, there are a couple phone stores that can set you up.

I update my account online if I am not going to be there for a while to keep my number in service. It makes it easier to have an active phone as soon as I arrive. (It's usually ringing as I get off the plane)

Have you had any experiences with CC as it pertains to Jamaica?

    Is it worth the money?
