Well, I was in Mobay and Kingston about two weeks ago and I must say I was not positively impressed with what I've seen.

Had a one-day business meeting to attend in Kingston, so I thought I'd take a week's time to have a look around this interesting country. Landed in Mobay and right out of the arrivals the trip started off with the wrong foot; taxi driver insisted in trying to charge me 20 USD for a one-and-a-half kilometer ride to the strip (a ride that costs 5 USD and that is okay to pay as much as 10 for a tourist just landed). Took a good ten minutes to make him have his mind around the fact that I wasn't giving him more than 10 USD for the ride, then off we went.

Arrived at the hotel, a cheap solution right on the strip, the desk tried to charge me twice the price they advertised on the net. Would have fucked them off and left but was really just too tired after a sleepless twelve hours flight so I gave in and crashed on the bed. Woke up in the middle of the night and off I went to get me some strange; the main street (hip strip) was infested with all kinds of hustlers trying to sell drugs, food, drinks, taxi rides and low quality pussy. A really bothering behavior that takes a while to get accustomed to even for a well travelled and pragmatic individual.

Got to a strip club and sat to enjoy the show. Picked up a decent looking darkie and headed back to the hotel after she agreed to a few hours work for a hundred usds. Back to the room the performance was so-so and she started pulling out a bitchy attitude more and more as it took me a while to get off. Her attitude got really disturbing and it took some effort not to kick her ass out of the window, but I tried to play along and focused on busting a nut and fuck her off of my room.

Finally made it and then the next pain in the ass started with her trying to scam me on the exchange rate, an altercation ensued but I held my ground, then she finally grabbed a watch that I had left on the table and ran away with it and the money I gave her. Jamaican police is also a joke, won't go into the details of the story but it was just a waste of time.

So I had been 12 hours in the country and felt under attack from all sides.

The rest of my stay didn't differ much from how it started.

Jamaicans have a really disturbing attitude toward foreigners, they all try continuously to get some money out of you by trying to sell you something, offering services or straight up begging. If you have been to Cuba or DR it is just like that with the difference that while cubans are usually quite smooth about it, jamaicans by contrast are so raw and rude about it all. They just step up to you and straight ask you to give them something or buy something to / from them.

After the first two or three days of culture shock I just started to answer "I'm not giving you any money!" to whoever approached me no matter what they asked. If some guy in the street asked me "what time is it?" I'd say "I'm not giving you any money. It's five o'clock."

It pretty much worked and I started having some relief from the stress these people brings.

They will give you a hard time at first; guaranteed; and the sooner you learn how to deal with them, the better off you will be.

On one occasion I even felt racially discriminated against by a black emplyee of a food joint. Been around the world many times and this was the first time I felt like that.

Also, from the pum-pum (local slang for pussy) point of view be advised that Jamaica is not a country to go to if you're looking for pay-for-play; sex workers are lazy and offer lackluster performances, many of them have nasty attitudes. This is one country where if you stay a while you're easily going to have more pussy than you could have time for, but of course this is hardly going to happen if you stay for one week and never come back anymore. Jamaican girls are generally good fucks when she's your gal. Had a Jamaican girl before and she could really shake it properly. Not the nastiest ones, but good fucks nevertheless. I have also fucked good Jamaican hookers in Suriname and they all were alright, not so much so in Mobay tho; not at all. Mostly blacks, with very few mixed breeds.

The positive sides of the whole thing are; above all, the island's nature is just gorgeous.

Simply driving across the island will offer very characteristic sceneries; from the luxurious tropcal forest, to the paradisiac beaches and even a few characteristic corners of civilization. Jamaica is by far more beautiful an island than Cuba and the DR, IMHO.

As far as humanity is concerned, all the british have contributed to this ex-colony and its civilization is metal sheets and the whole palce looks like a fuc*ng dumpster as a result; shanty houses everywhere and the top notch buildings look like any industrial area warehouse from around the world.

Didn't have the chance to see any nice building, a church, a monument. Anything. Nothing at all.

Best structure I've seen is the Spanish Court hotel in New Kingston, stayed there and I'd recomend it even tho it's not a cheap stay at two-hundred odds usds per night.

Nightlife in Kingston can be interesting if you're into clubbing or street parties and like the atmosphere and music, but you'll definitely need a local guide to take you to the right place on the right night or to be with you at the street parties whose best ones all happen in less-than-upscale neighborhoods.

Local food is great if you like it hot and spicy.

Been to a strip club in Kingston, called 38 or something like that, not far from the New Kingston area or even into it. Nothing special at all. Slow night, few uninspired girls. Didn't like it.

Jamaica's redemption only came toward the end of my week's stay. After the initial culture shock you eventually get the grip with the local's ways; this people is quick-tongued and loves to bust everybody else's balls at any given time, no matter where they are and what are they doing.

You will buy a coconut from a street vendor and while you drink the water off it the rastaman will say things such as;"go for it mon! You the furrrst one to drink water from a coconut."

It is some kind of humour that slowly grows into you untill you master it and love it.

Cool people, and some of the laziest I have ever seen. On one occasion entered a tourist information spot just to find of the three employees two of them deeply asleep and one quietly laying back while listening to music. Took some serious shaking to wake up one of the two who were sleeping, and she came back to reality startling like she had been in a REM sleep phase. Told them I forgot what I was looking for, but all I wanted was to be introduced to the guy that paid their salaries; I must know this guy, I said.

Of course, what I wrote is the result of my meagre and superficial experience so take it for what it is.

My advice would be to visit Jamaica for more lengthy stays than one week; lets say two weeks at least. Don't go to buy ass, it's not worth it and you will get much more for your money elsewhere. Jamaican hookers usually offer the same kind of experience any street walker in any outskirts of towns all around the world would, and usually at a higher price.

Still a cool place to visit tho.
