Hoping to make it down to Mobay for the first time. Are hotels gf or do they charge additional? Thanks ahead for any comments as I've been looking at the Wexford as possibly base.

I just got back from Mobay and I was staying at the Wex. It is "visitor" friendly during certain hours of the day, I think 10pm is the latest before they charge you to bring anyone in. I wrote the exact times in one of my posts. I think this will be my last visit to my dear Mobay.

I have to accept that it isn't what it used to be. It took me some time to let go, because I have had some good memories in the last 9 or 10 years I have gone there. There was a little bit more foot traffic this time than it was in December, but still no fun. I was checking out the shop girls who work for the Indians and most of them are not good looking at all. I was told they get very low pay, so I thought they would be easy to take out and hope for other things. Didn't see one that interested me.

Luckily, I met someone on my last trip who has things going in her life-own her business and has a car! We spent 3 of the 4 days together, so I didn't get to hit any MPs. The night scene was dead? I arrived on a Thursday, but didn't go out, was recovering from a long flight. You do need a car in my opinion, but for me, to drive in a foreign country, with driving maniacs and top that off with driving on the left side of the road, no way. If I were to go to Mobay again, I would stay at the Holiday Inn and make the best of it.

BTW, I had a bad experience at the Wex, so I know I won't be staying there anymore (and my bellman / hookup friend quit). When I arrived, some guy (I won't say his name) was checking me in. I have never been checked in by him before and the ladies all know me. He asked for my hotel confirmation number? I have never been asked for that. He acted like he was not going to check me in without it, like he was hoping I didn't have it and he could turn me away. I had to go online to my expedia account and get it. I arrived at 10am but he said the room would not be ready until 2pm! I have never had that happen.

They don't have a baggage room, they tell you to just leave it in the lobby. I didn't get a room until 3pm. My friend was with me and he was so nice to her. He told her what floor and room she was in, treated her like a guest. This hotel is by far no 4 star hotel, but you are paying some good prices. I only like it because of the location. Since I have come to my senses, it doesn't matter, my next trip will be Kingston-first time or Holiday Inn Mobay.

Stayed at the Caribic. One day I was charged 20 but other days I go by for free. I will be back 4/18-25.

Yes sir! JA is awesome. I think I am going back every 2-3 months since I am a teacher and have plenty of time off. Hell, I am even considering moving to South Florida just so I can fly there more cheaply.
