Aruba had 90 new positive cases yesterday. 1500 active now. On a small island.

People just need to stay away until they get it under control.

Scroll down to August 5, 2020, where it states:

"August 5, 2020 Aruba government announces additional measures including closure of bars and nightclubs. During a press conference this evening, the Aruba government has announced that all bars, rumshops and nightclubs are to close as of tonight at 8:30 pm until further notice. "

So, has that changed, especially given the fact that it is now August 24? If bars and nightclubs are closed, that is definitely going to impact mongers in Aruba, as many reports written here in the Aruba ISG thread indicate WGs can be found in the bars and nightclubs.

    San Nicolas Going Forward

I have been traveling to Aruba once or twice a year since 2005. I really wonder if the San Nicolas red light set-up is going to survive this pandemic. I remember back in 2005, there were probably a dozen or more really good bars with 5-6 (or more) great looking Colombians in each bar. The last 5 years things have been dwindling each year. Black / White Bar, Copacabana, and Chesterfields were about it the last time I was there in August 2019. Now that there have been no Colombians the last 6 months I really wonder how the remaining bars are going to survive. Also, with the oil refinery shut down for years now I think the Aruban government would like to repurpose that entire area. Will be interesting to see what happens, I will always have great memories of my times in San Nicolas.

    Covid Stats

August 4 there were 8 active Covid cases in Aruba. Yesterday, 1160. New cases trending down, but still at 60 yesterday. Aruba will not be on my list of travel destinations any time soon.

All true except that Aruba is not in lockdown. I live here. Everything is open. Hotels, Restaurants and stores are all open. There are only a few restrictions. There cannot be gatherings with more than 4 people and you have to wear a mask in every establishment. There is also social distancing rules in every store. But outside you don't have to wear a mask. Furthermore the economy is picking up. Things will be fine. Tourist are welcome here. It is a perfect time to come and relax because the Island will not be crowded.

A local Aruban guy went to Holland. He returned, left quarantine early and worked in 2 bars and a night club. All while having and spreading the viirus without knowing it. In 2-3 weeks Aruba has gone from 5 cases to over 1000! There are about 1000 active cases on the island right now giving it the highest per capita covid rate in the world! The island is on lockdown. I might want to go to Aruba anyway for other reasons, but it would be even more appealing if there are any Colombians or Venezuelans left.
If Tinder is any indication, there are still some under the radar. I've learned the sweet spot when looking at distance and most of the stuff I'm seeing is spot on, though I could be picking up some Punto Fijo or Campo Alegre by accident.

Would there be any Colombians or Venezuelans left on Aruba when it reopens?

    Second timers better experience

My second island experience was much better than the first. This time I went with a "this is what I want list" and stuck to it. As with my first trip to Aruba I had limited mongering time due to my travelling companion. But this time I was less frantic as I'd scoped San Nicholas out the previous year and had lost my cherry. This year I was not to be distracted by anything but what was at the top of my bucket list. My first early morning in SN I cruised and saw a few but none were what I had "bucket listed" so I passed them by. Took a 30 minute drive and returned to a similar situation. OK. Strike three for my first attempt but I had no regrets. My second attempt started like my first but I did see a few other mongers cruising and learnt there route. I took an hour drive hoping for some new choices would appear. I made two passes and was getting nothing but the same and I was weakening as it was my last day to relieve my stress. On my third and last pass I found her. Thin, dark skinned. She spoke less English than I spoke Spanish but we managed to agree on $60- and we were off to the races. Her room was clean and neat. At 5'2" she was very well proportioned and I had a great time exploring her Colombian assets. Safe sex was all that was on the menu which was fine by me. Things started hot and heavy with lots of foreplay and when we finally commenced, I didn't last long as seeing my white hips pound her beautiful black ass put me over the top. This was a long time fantasy and a first for me. Hoping things go even better next year!

    Going to Aruba

    Hey fellow mongers,

I am going to Aruba this June and if I can sneak away from the family I would like to see a Venezuelan prostitute. I won't have much time so go to SN is put of the question. I might be able to see someone hanging around Gustos as I will be staying in a hotel 10 minutes from there. Do you guys know of any incall close to Gustos?

Hate to say it like that, but it depends.

If you can find a parking spot right in front of one of the 3-4 remaining clubs, and it's not too late (like 8 pm), and you go directly into the bar, do not get drunk, do "the deed", leave the bar when it's not too late (like 8:30 pm-9 pm), survey the area to make sure there are no shady looking people hanging out near your car, walk straight to the car, get in and drive off. You should be ok.

IMHO I don't think walking from bar to bar (especially at night), stopping in the alleys, stopping and exiting the car without surveying the immediate area for at least a few minutes is not safe. Of course, the majority won't be robbed and won't have their car scratched or otherwise vandalized. But there have been plenty of incidents and let me assure you that will continue for at least foreseeable future.

Also I recommend having good and reliable car insurance.
