We have arrived on the island yesterday and immediately dived into Campo. Here's what we found on our first run through the Camp:

Almost all girls are from Dominican Republic and Colombia. They stay on the island for 3 months under a work permit. If you are staying on Curacao for more than 5 days and plan to go to Campo everyday it can be a good idea to buy the VIP entrance ticket. You pay a one time 50 guilders fee that will grant you a full month free pass into Campo, so you don't have to pay the 10 at the entrance to get in. Make sure you have ID on you if you want to buy the VIP pass. Once inside you will be greeted with a nice view of an open square with rows of small houses on your right and left hand. In the center there is a main recreational area with a small restaurant and a club where there will be strip shows every now and then. There's an MC who will announce once a strip show is about to start. Campo plays loud music in the open air, mostly bachata and salsa. As we entered Campo we went straight to the bar, grabbed a beer and we then started to explore the place.

Going with a group of friends, we're flying this weekend. A few months ago I had a great time in Brazil, first time mongering, so I'm curious as to what Curacao and the Campo have to offer. What makes you think that vitamin C has any effect on the prevention or cure of Chikungunya? The only prevention is avoiding to get bitten by the mosquitoes.

Your right, its just a prevention in case your already here, repellents can help.

I visit Curacao every year but with a broken heart I decided to cancel my vacation in January (one week) because this freakin Chikungunya.
