It is up in the Santa Cruz/ Santa Clara section of the island near Christoffel park.

A local can direct you from there, but make no mistake about it you'll be the only tourist onsite.

OK boys. I just joined WSG- great site. I travel internationally most of the year and can give you the low down on practically every country. Here is the scoop on Curacao.

I see lot's of comments regarding Campo. My advice, avoid it. You'll be disappointed with all the 3-5 girls and, worse, the cash & dash attitude. If you pay more than 50 Guilders ($35 USD) you're paying too much. $1USD= 1. 78Naf (Guilders). The place is good if you just want to blow a nut on any girl regardless of looks. No GFE here boys. So where do you go instead? There's a couple of places.

Havana Vieja (across Dennys)- not the nicest place but every now and then you'll find some real sweet chics that come from Dom. Rep. 50 guilders to take them out, 150-200 guilders for the whole night. I like mine young and thin with lots of T&A. I found various there.

Race Cafe- the chics come from Colombia. Here I found some sweet girls just as I like them. 100 Guilders to take out, 150-200 for the night. Mind you, I've gotten away with paying ZERO to the girls if you really know how to romance them. Some great GFE.

Amigo Terrace- Not too far from Race Cafe, most girls are from Dom. Rep. and Venezuela. There are some definite cuties there. I have not taken out a girl from there yet so I don't know the prices.

Play Station- Probably the best because it has A/C. The girls are from Dom. Rep. and boy can they dance. A flat 350 guilders to take them out includes the girl (yes, it's pricey). For those you are interested in practicalities, here are some info about accomodation and cars in particular :
- I had indentified Michel Car rental as the cheapest one. Car are basically maintained and so is the service, but I would recommend this company. Using cabs will kill you.
- Similarly, I had identified Ceri Neger's apartement (see curacao.com) as the cheapest solution. For 36USD/day, you get a large apartment with A/C room. Closer to the action than Flamingo (15 minutes from Campo Alegre).
- Diving seems to be quite cheap as well (I paid 53 USD for a 2 hours refresher course).
- Internet? Guess what? I am sending this from a free UTS hotspot. It was hard to find a decent computer shop to buy a wireless card, but the effort was worth trying. Do not beleive the UTS One tel website regarding the location of the Hotspots : the only ones that are valid are in Punda, Willemstad.
All in all, Curacao is really a cheap mongering place.

It seems from this board that you get a better price if you pay in florints rather than US dollars. Strange because Columbian are generally interested by a hard currency, like in St Maarten.

I was just wondering if it is really worth to change the US dollars in one of those expensive Bureau de Change or even in a bank taken into consideration that they charge you for the change.

In my case, I would even have to change my local currency in USD before my departure, or take some cash from an ATM for which I am also overcharged by my bank.

The first day in Curacao is in the books. And, what a day it was!

The Hilton hotel is very beautiful and the room is nice. It was just pretty quiet yesterday with not many people around other than couples and families. .......It is kinda sad, but its been my experience that the quality of Colombiana providers is a whole lot better in Panama City and San Jose Costa Rica than it is in Aruba and Curacao.
