What about taxi or Uber to go to Campo?

I have been to Curacao and definitely don't like to drive there. If I stayed at the Hilton (where I can go diving during the day without the need to drive anywhere), the drive only looks to be about 15 minutes. Any thoughts on taxis / Uber to do my nightly mongering? Thanks.

    In town

I'm in Curacao now for 6 more nights, I have a rental car also. If anyone wants to go hunting, let me know.

I'd highly recommend staying in Willemstad or somewhere on the south coast and drive to Campo as needed. It's a 15 min drive from Willemstad and it gives you opportunity to do a lot of other stuff between Campo visits.

Dive shop and location to town

The Hilton has a excellent dive shop, Caribbean Sea Sports, I have been diving with them for years. The Hilton is a good hotel, easy drive to the airport and into town. When in Curacao you definitely need a car. I have been coming to Curacao for the past 15 yrs, Campo is safe, some of the local places that are mentioned are not in very good areas. Campo is an adult candy store with cheap prices.

The walk from the Renaissance to willemstad is 10 minutes or so over the pontoon Bridge and perfectly safe. We stumbled back drunk every night with no problems. 27 Curaao is a very cool bar Nieuwestraat has a lot of cool bars. You'll see them. There was even one outdoor bar around there doing kareoke one of the nights. That was fun.

As far as dive shops, I don't know if the Renaissance has one. We used the dive bus. Great guys and were very helpful. I definitely recommend them. It's maybe 15 minutes south of willemstad but there are several good dives around there. I think it was $50/ day for dive equipment (we brought our own wet suit, mask, fins, snorkel and boots).

Loved Curaao. Would go back anytime.

    LBW,

I stay at the Renaissance when I go and directly across the street from the hotel entrance is parking. The entrance is on a pretty well watched street, surrounded by some high end shopping and places to eat. It is a pretty nice area actually.

Being an avid diver myself, the last time I was there I tried out "Divers of the Caribbean". Staff was pretty cool and they offer a lot of shore dives close by their shop, which is just across the bridge from the Renaissance. Myself and a buddy are heading that way over Labor Day weekend. He doesn't know it yet, but I'm dragging his ass to do some dives. He may even read this and find out haha. Enjoy your trip!

    Hckymn.

Drink driving is pretty common on Curacao. Just be careful rounding the cliffs near the bay bridge. You don't want to drive off the road there. Cops in curaçao aren't going to shake you down. It's still a part of the Dutch kingdom, and the Dutch are very liberal when it comes to personal freedoms. Just don't speed or run over someone's pet or goat, or other property. That will likely cost you some coin. Be sure to keep the doors locked while driving. Once, a drunk walker tried to get in while I was stopped for a red light on my way from Campo.

You can still get in 8 hours of fucking every day if you get to Campo in the evening.

No matter where you stay, you will need a car. Do yourself a favor and explore. As for where to stay, note that the refinery is active and it smells. The wind tends to blow from the east. Blue bay and Piscadera are downwind. That includes the Hilton and Marriott. I suggest you look for a place from Punda south to Mambo beach.

As far I know Campo hire safe, just ask for one at the counter when you arrive.

My suggestion would be NOT to bring a huge amount of cash, just take it out of the ATM as you go along. Machines disburse both ANG and USD. Make sure your bank (s) know you will be out of the country. Bring a few different cards as backup.

Unless you absolutely need it, do not bring a very expensive laptop. Something simple for communication will suffice. After all, you are going to the island to fuck, not look at Excel spreadsheets. .

If you are booking a room inside Campo, they might let you park inside.

Most importantly. Rent a car, do NOT use taxis. Also go get a local SIM. You will need data. Campo wi fi is dreadful. So, bring a working unlocked phone. Note: girls communicate almost exclusively through Whatsapp.
