Anyone intrested in comming for carnival should book now, the accomdations in the city gets quite short by November.

There is no ferry to Venezueal, only to Tobago, out sister isle. If you want to go to Tobago, you need to book a flight on Aeopostal to Caracas.

I wanted to get your opinion on things in Trini! It looks like I will be in Trinidad for Carnival from Feb 24th to March 5th for Carnival with 3 of my buddies! For accomodations I usually go the apartment route and was wondering are there any apartments in the main carnival/clubs/bars area in Port of Spain to stay at during my trip or any you could reccomend or any websites or classified ads you could refer me to or people you might know?

We are definately looking to renting a car since I heard that the cabbies gouge prices and we want to be able to get around on our own.

Also is it possible for me to catch a ferry or boat over to Venezuela since it is so close? Let me know...Peace! You can just reply by posting all the information If you no longer have access to the Private Messenging system.

Actually the vast majority of girls in the brothels are either Trinidadian, Guyanese and Colombinian. But very few Venezuelian and not to be found in other "decent" places. The Colombinian are are the best looking girls, ranging from caucasian to african style. The level of services vary from one to another, but is generally rather low, so are the price (300 TTD for one short session - 1300 TTD for a night). Do not expect to have a GFE in Trinidad.

I as there in January and a shipmate went looking. He was young, decent looking and spoke fluent Spanish (English is the language in Trinidad but the girls from South America obviously speak Spanish). Whe he returned he said there were some good looking Venezuelan girls in the local brothels but none of them would budge off the $1,000.00 TT which is about $160 US. This was for one hour so he came back to the ship after visiting about 3 brothels without any action. There are a few local girls in the area around Chaguaramos that you might have a shot at.

Adds in the newspaper are generaly not reliable. Service is poor.

To my point of view, it is better to go in the parlours (Triple X, Carribean Isle, the one in Dundonaldson street, Villa Capri in San Fernando) where you can at least see what you get. Sometimes, the girls are not so beautiful and I just get out and go somewhere else, which you can hardly do if you order a girl with one agency. In Villa Capri, there is always at least one gorgeous woman, and in any of these place, you can take her at home or hotel for the night.

Replying to a thread sent during Carnival, my general impression is that it was "business as usual" in most places, because the girls are coming from Colombia, so they are not involved in Carnival.

It seems, at least in POS, that the period is not very good : very few advertising in the Express, very few nice looking girls in the Carribean Isle, the Marli street parlor has closed, the Triple X is not offering sex anymore and one of their girls, Christelle, has desapeared.

Consensual Sex Parties are not a norm in Trinidad, though I've heard reports about swinger parties being organised but it seems that it's only among the gay crowd. There is a guy who runs a show on wednesdays and the weekend where you pay between $150-200 TT to see a couple of girls (max 5) strip, perform lesbian acts with sex toys, patrons are invited to participate with some guys performing on the girls (oral and full sex) ... this was great when it started the organisers had young pretty much passable girls but in the past year or two their standards have dropped a bit, but it's still better than nothing! However, I have read in the classifieds of the Express that there are a group trying to organize one. Also there is a gay group also doing it.

So check the classifieds of the Express newspapers for likely options.

Read the various reports, they'll give you some ideas. The island is not oriented for tourism and is unsafe (security problems), so take precautions.

There is an exit for San Fernando, and then a junction road in bad shape. Then turn left and go until a large roundabout. Turn right and take Coffee Street. When you reach downtown (usually very busy), ask for Vistabella MAIN Road (because there is also a Vistabella Road I think). The road is quite long and turns a lot. After a while, you'll reach a NP station. Then you must ask again for Elizabeth street (which will be somewhere on the left).

My advice: If you do not have a map of San Fernando (you can buy one at the Hilton in POS), ask a cab first to show you the way and follow him with your car. There are plenty taxis downtown.

I am renting a car on my trip and I am looking for more detail instructions to get to this place once you exit the highway comming from Port of Spain. Any help would be most appreciated.
