Good report. I don't know if you did it but you might try asking for her phone number and seeing her during the day. I did this several times and the girls saw me for going rates of other upscale Platynum or Area-Vip girls. IMHO, here is your problem in Blacks. A girl is really trying to land a "whale". Many clients are from next door staying at the Alvear Palace. They might be from the USA, Europe, Asia where high class girls go for the equivalent of $300 US an HOUR. So when a girl at Black's asks for $200 or $300 a NIGHT...these guys think it's a good deal. Many of them have no clue of the pricing structure in place. So, in the girls mind even if she clicks with you she is risking leaving for 200 pesos instead of potentially making $200 US. Yeah, I know in your head you're thinking, "but 200 pesos is better than nothing". Many of these girls aren't wired to think like that.

Also, you should know that girls will literally yell at other girls that charge what they deem to be too little. I've left before with girls that told me not to tell anyone what I payed because the other girls get mad and will yell at her. Don't just listen to my...ask other girls that you know that used to work there. I know one that works at Madahos now. She used to work at Blacks and all the girls used to hate her because she would charge so little. They would call her a cheap puta or a street girl. There is a whole mentality there with the girls to not accept less than a certain amount.

If you ask for her # and see her during the day she has no pressures and no girls to deal with. Most of these girls don't do jack during the day anyway. If they don't have kids they are just shopping or goofing off. I've been to a few of their apartments and they really just are resting for the night working.

I go into Black's less and less over the past year and a half but I always try to go in at least once on each trip to see how the turnover is. Good luck with your girl!

To continue with the pursuit of women, I had my first attempt at negotiations in Black last night (Monday). It went more or less the way I expected it might, which is not well. I think it does say something about how you might expect things to go in Black, so here it is. I have been to Black about 5-6 times, but because of the system never bothered to try negotiating. But I separated from my current favorite and am desperate to replace her.

I first went to Black on Saturday, on the theory there would be very few men. On this I was correct, but there were also fewer women, and none of particular interest. I then went to Black on Monday, on the theory that most of the women would be there, but fewer men. On this I was correct. Surprisingly, there was a big influx of women at about 1:00, including a darling I had seen in the past and have been wondering about.

The darling was wearing a simple black sheath that made her even more endearing, so after a few minutes looking/walking around to make sure I wasn't missing anything, I took her hand as she passed by. The reason she passed by is because I had been noticing her, making light eye contact. When I looked at other parts of the bar, I would return a look in her direction. Her radar had this spotted in about 25 seconds. I sat at the bar and bought a drink, still noticing her. After a few minutes, she walked by, making sure to be a second or two near me. I simply reached for her hand, and said hello. She stopped and came closer, and we talked.

After about 2? minutes, she asked if I would buy her a drink. Knowing this is required at Black, I said yes, and she ordered from the bartender. The drink was $50ar, so it is true the price is depending on the woman. She apparently could have ordered a drink for $80ar, as others have reported (and the manager has told me the value of the drink is up to her, from $25-$85ar). I suspect that this may be an indication of their level of interest.

We talked for a while, and I said I would like to go out with her. She asked for $400ar. I said this was too much. She asked what I thought, and I said I normally pay $200ar(which is generous, because it is often $150ar). She came down to $350ar. We talked a while longer, during all of which she bought another $50ar drink. She would not come down from $350ar. We never did talk about time or what we would do, so we were negotiating standard fare. As it became clear that we would not reach a deal, she asked for money for a taxi. At first I didn't understand what she was asking, I was so surprised. To me this showed no class, and I was disappointed in her. After refusing to negotiate under $350ar, don't panhandle me for $10ar for nothing. Of course, I didn't give it to her. I told her I had to think about going with her, because it was too much and wasn't fair.

At this point, I had spent $125ar and had little. When I left the bar, I left her on a good note, saying I still had to think about it. I also told her that the problem with Black is that the bar earns all the money, and explained the situation. By her reaction, I don't think she had thought of this before. The one thing I do have is a point of negotiation. I never have to spend $100 up front again with her, because in the future I can always say something like: "Is it worth talking about this again?" in the 2-3 minutes I can get before the drink police arrive. In theory, I only have to do a preliminary negotiation once with each woman of interest, and from then on it would be the minimum cost of $50ar, including to exit with her(plus my drink of $25ar).

But this is the problem with the Black system. For the bar, it is great. They really don't want the girl to leave. If she has a failed negotiation, she can do that more than once a night. She is not likely to leave more than once. Also, they prefer to have more women available in the bar, because the drinking customers prefer it. So they teach the women to negotiate high. But this is bad for the women, because they don't earn the money. So I really don't like it.

I still really like this woman and will talk again with her. I really don't care that much about the money as a one time shot with her. It really is more an issue of fairness. But if I like her, I will want to see her again, many times. Then the money is more of an issue.

My main point here is that in general, the Black system is hard to deal with, and you should consider how/if you want to deal with it.

The "Drink Police". That's great, I'm going to remember that one for future reference.

I have been to two Milongas, one in Parque Centenario and the other in San Telmo. The median age in both locations was probably 45ish....there were a couple of younger couples, but they were a twosome and had come to dance and practice tango.....An interesting cultural experience, but not a place to pick up chicas.

On the other hand, I went to a place in Palermo Viejo that gave tango lessons and it was FULL of single women.....I was with a group and did not try to pick any one up, but women were lining up to dance with me (and I am nothing to brag about.....I was simply one of the few available guys)....

Things may have changed in the last 3 years, but as far as I remember young crowds are not prone to go to milongas (in fact, most patrons there are 40+y/o). Also I never read in Clarin or La Nacion an article related to "The new trends: single people meeting at milongas". Thus, I would doubt about finding many 20something gals from a milonga place.

I'm not sure about Tango clubs but in general I think Buenos Aires is a lot like many other cosmopolitan cities around the world. Girls/women aren't just going to line up to be with you because you're American. They look at many of the same things women in general look at all over the world. How you present yourself, your personal appearance, your clothes, just the way you carry yourself. However, the girls there seem to be more open minded. There is a gentleness about the people of Argentina. Of course as many locals on the board have pointed out, some of them think they are way hotter than they are but that is part of their culture there. And I think many Americans also fall into this same category of believing that they somehow are better than other people because they are US citizens. I've never held this belief but I see silly tourists all the time that do exhibit this behavior.

I think most of the guys going down for quick vacations would rather take the sure thing. Although, I have met up with guys that took the time to try to meet up with normal girls. You have to keep in mind that some of the hottest normal girls won't let you just get in their pants. You have to nurture the relationship just like anywhere else in the world. Maybe even more so in Buenos Aires.

I've had good luck meeting normal girls there. I've taken out on dates 2 of those girls that hand out flyers of restaurants in Recoleta, one hostess of a restaurant and another girl. I've also corresponded with several on amigos.com. I had extremely good luck with amigos.com in the past but I found that it just got too time consuming. One super hottie from that site wanted me to meet her parents even before I met her! Most of the girls on that site are looking for a serious relationship with guys their own ages (18-35). Good luck.

P.S. Don't be afraid to do things you wouldn't do in the USA. Like one night before going to Black's my amigo and I were in Recoleta at La Biela cafe. At night it's packed with people eating dinner and drinking coffee. I saw two girls. One was hot and her friend was ok but nothing special. Anyway, I told my waiter that I wanted to pay for their drinks. It was right before I was leaving. The girls stood up and waved and said thank you. On a subsequent trip I ran into one of the girls and she remembered it.

re: finding a way to work in argentina: guys, i think the simple answer for anybody that owns their own company in the us is to set up an office to work from in ba. the available technology makes it very easy to have an office in ba, especially if your job is telephone sales intensive. for example, you can have your calls to your us office transferred to your argentinian "office" for zero cents, zero dollars! this is all done through the purchase of two $150.00 items available in best buys. they do require a high speed cable modem or dsl or braodband on both sides, however, but given that you have this, your phone in ba turns into literally an extension of your us phone system so when you pick up the phone in ba to make a call to the us you're making the call through your local us phone service for the same price that you'd make it if you physically made it in your us office. ditto for faxing and obviously the email thing is the same anywhere you are.

i'm toying around with the idea of installing a small office in argentina manned (really womanned) by an argentinian national that speaks impeccably good english who could take orders from me that come into my us office, then place the purchase orders with my vendors here in the us and then electronically transmit an "invoicing order" so that an invoice is generated to my us customer. this same person could track mis-delivered packages and do many of the same, exact functions that an employee in my us office does. this same type of thing is happening rampantly all throughout the us. everytime i call compaq for tech support i'm calling an 800 number but an indian in new deli is taking my call. also, chase bank has telemarketers calling me contantly from india offering me things via my chase credit card.

why shouldn't i play this game too and save myself a ton of money? my good argentinian friend who is a great businessman too has told me that i could pull this off for about $1000.00 us per month including the rental of a small space for this employee and the employee's pay. i guess the trick would be finding someone who speaks impeccably good english but this weekend i realized that these people are available when i met a gorgeous british woman who had lived in ba for the last three years. also, i'm convinced theat there's a sizable pool of people like mayra and roxana who speak impeccably well who could do these jobs.

Well another enjoyable adventure in B.A. I was fortunate to have Roxana set up an appointment with Maria Christina of the Platinym site. She is a true "lady", but man when it is time to play, you had better have a seat belt. This lady is not for the timid. If your pleasures run to the more dominant type of lady with a lot of style and class.....she is your lady.

It was still "early" by B.A. standards, so I decided to do a little more "sightseeing". I was able to contact the "Pardrino of Recolletta", and we went to Play Woman. This was my first trip in this bar and as soon as I walked in I wanted to take the bartendress home with me.......try as I might.......was not to happen. There were about 20 ladies and two or three that really stood out. One blond that looked like she walked out a surfing magazine.........my goodness, tight tummy, great ass, and a nice pair of "bolt ons", and one other little gal in a "shredded dress" that looked worthy of a trial, but we decided to move up the street to Madahos. As soon as we walked in I saw Tatiana talking to a couple of English speaking gents, as it turns out it might have been Andres and his friend. She saw me, but I didn't say anything to her or the guys, after my experience last week.

It didn't take long before my ATF saw me and after a big kiss and a hug, I knew I was done with my search for the evening ( not a bad thing). I did get to meet the couple that owns the Platinym and other sights and enoyed a short chat. After a beer it was adios to Madahos and off to a few hours of blissful adult interaction.
I hope to try Exedra and a couple of other places next week and see what else is out there.
I would really like a couple of recommendations for a "massage" lady that might be willing to visit the hotel or if the office is a nice place, I could visit....
