Long time lurker, first time poster... I am getting ready to leave BA with lasting memories and wanted to share them with the esteemed members of this group, since that is where I got the idea to go to BA in the first place.

A few observations from a recent short visit:

1) Prices are creeping upward, caused by natural inflation in pesos as well as the loss of value by the dollar because of the very low U.S. interest rates. For example, the flag drop for a cab is now 1.28 pesos, up from 1.12 on my last visit. Exchange rate: 2.8 to the dollar last weekend. Surely the city is still a massive bargain except for the cheapest of cheapskates who are wanting nothing more than a one-dollar blowjob.

2) Black continues to have, IMHO, the best-looking women in Buenos Aires as well as the highest prices for drinks, etc... However, I negotiated a TLN for 300 pesos. Your mileage may vary. Ask for the blonde waitress "Edit" to wait on you at her station. (Her mother was the coat lady the night I was there, too - a "beso" for each!) Edit is NOT on the program herself, but she is very pleasant and will direct you to simpatica, English-speaking girls. Remember that girls' drinks here are a stiff 80 pesos, while your drinks will run in the 35 range for a call brand, and lots of tapas if you are nice to Edit.

3) Ciceron is the successor to Affaire in Recoleta. Nice place, much less of a haze of smoke than its predecessor. Ample selection.

4) Don't go to Playwoman when it is raining. It was raining as hard inside as it was outside!

5) Madaho's has a good selection, with Thursday being the busiest night of the week, Saturday the slowest. The difference between those two days was remarkable. However, I recommend a visit either day.

6) Periplo on Alvear, in Microcentro just across from the Marriott and San Martin Square, is my favorite place for a drink in BsAs. Sr. Reynoldo the hefty, white-haired bartender is a pleasant fellow and will chat with you in English. Occasionally there is a girl or six there, if that's your reason for going stop by beginning at about 6:00pm. I go for the stiff Tanqueray and Tonic and all the tapas you can eat for 35 pesos.

7) Special notice for Dickhead and his acolytes. I noticed some streetwalkers plying their trade at the corner of Liberator and Puerrydon, as well as on San Martin near Cafe Orleans. I wouldn't fuck them with a dildo on a stick standing away at ten meters' range, but maybe some of you will find them interesting. There's no accounting for taste......

I don't think you should have any problem. I presume you are going to use EURO, which actually has gained substantially during this last six months. Go ahead, splurge. I spent about 25% more compared to last trip and that is primarily due to the devaluation of US dollar.

I felt prices on everyday staffs are somewhat higher, but you won't feel it significantly. I remember paying 120 Peso for Tango cena show last year which is now 135 Peso. The best seat in Boca soccer stadium is 65 Peso which was little cheaper last year. Mainly, you have to watch out when visiting too many clubs in a single night. Prices of admissions and drinks can add up substantially. This is the single most money draining situation I can think about.

I'm going to address your question about paying 50% upfront and the rest afterwards.

IMO, I don't think this is a good idea. It's better to talk about your expectations before getting to your place, thus avoiding any misunderstandings.

Lots of these girls are interested in making enough money to quit and do something else, so pleasing us is not on their minds. I know, I know.. this is a generalization but it's quite true. There are exceptions, I admit. And those have been the best I've had in BA.

This is speculation---

They quote you, let's say, 2 hours for XXX pesos and if they get 50% of money upfront, most likely they will please you for a certain amount of time and after what she'd consider the end of session (no endless participation) she'll demand the rest of the payment.

It's possible they will get aggressive if they've performed for you and you do not pay the rest because she decided to stay 45 mins. instead of 2 hours.

4- Yes, it's possible. If you hit the clubs late and talk to a bunch of girls who are friends and are comfortable with each other, most likely you will get a discount. Last time I got two girls for 400 pesos 3 1/2 hours, and afterwards they later hung out with me at the casino till noon.

Pricing: Folks, I am really concerned about inflation. Dollar has sunk down to ridiculous levels (thanks to lower interest rates in US). BA – Wrap-up

Back home in the USA. The flight was just as long getting back as it was getting there. All the flights were absolutely completely full…. not one empty seat to Miami, Dallas or Louisville. Guess summer time travel is here, and the fear is gone.
My last afternoon in BA was spent with five fellow mongers and Roxana, plus a variety of ladies from La Nacion. Using a four-bedroom apartment we started with a catered lunch spread. Sorry to be late on the posts, but I´ve been busy and this is the first chance I've had to come up for air. Those of you who have been down here before know what I'm talking about. The rest will just have to wonder and wait.

Let's see, where was I ....

Oh yes, I get up this morning about noon. I keep saying "buenos dias" and they keep saying "buenos tardes". Another cloudy, grey day. Down to the Cafe de la Paix for desayuno.
