Now 70 casa, club and street options.

Prices range from 20 Bolivianos (or 250 pennies) in the low end casas to 50 to 200 Bolivianos (625 pennies to $25US) in the midrange places to $40 to $100US in the couple high end places.

First mentioned are the casas and clubs with definite addresses, most of them I have verified with a visit. Places I have only partial information on or cannot find at present are listed at the end. Perhaps other members can fill in the blanks over time.

The following info is compiled from the ISG Bolivia board, El Diaro and La Razon newspapers (Fridays), plus two booklet publications I stumbled on at newstands called "Tu y Yo" and "Dseos". The sixteen booklets I managed to collect for one Boliviano each were goldmines for names and addresses.

To narrow down the choices for members I have put the approximate number of chicas in each club and casa.

Lastly, if you can't find a chica to suit your tastes then head over to Ken-Chan Japanese restaurant for some sushi. Its proper address is Bat. Colorado #98 esq. Federico Suazo, Edificio Sociedad Japonesa, Piso 2. Tel (2) 244-2292. Where is this? Go to Plaza del Estudiante, find Cinema 16 de Julio, head down that sidestreet one block, look for the large "Ken-Chan" sign. A mixed plate of sushi costs 45 BS ($6US).

1. Variette (old name being Kassandras), 100 Honduras y Avenida German Busch. Huge neon sign "Variette," can't miss it. Next to a gas station, half a block off Busch. Open nights. Thurs-Fri-Sat has 25 to 30 chicas, less on other days. Show and dance starts around midnight. 25 BS for a glass of beer. JWadd quotes $40-$100US for a chica (post21).

2. Bella y Discretta, 990 Avenida Busch esq Honduras. Ring buzzer for access. 3 chicas when I visited. 2244698.

3. Nameless Bar, next door to 1010 Avenida Busch, just a few meters from Bella y Discretta, by a place called Good Buby Karaoke. 30 BS for a large beer (same for chicas). 5 chicas when I visited.

4. Barra Americana, next door to 1172 Calle Ponsnasky y Av Cap Hugo Estrada. 30 BS beers. Open nights. 5 to 7 chicas when I visited.

5. Pub Stand Bar (Lindas Conejitas), 1192 Calle Ponsnasky y Av Cap Hugu Estrada. 20 BS for a glass of beer. 100 BS chicas (says the newspaper). Open nights. 10-15 chicas when I visited.

8. Casa Blanca, 685 Pje Alipaz, a block up from Calle Puerto Rico. Mon-Sun. Decent house setup, quoted 200 BS for one hour. 3-4 chicas when I visited. 2225098.

9. Xtremo Sensual, 1277 Pasaje/Calle Panama. Closed on Sunday. Quoted 80 BS for a half hour, 1 chica was present. 73050965. 72599303.

10. Xcape VIP, on the corner of Busch y Puerto Rico. Don't know if it belongs on the list as I came across it in the daytime, but it appears to have all the markings of a fuckclub open at night. As of December 15-2006 it was closed by the municipality for some reason or other.

Low-end places numbered 34 to 45 on this list have between 2 to 5 chicas apiece. The only place I find myself stopping in on occasion to have a beer and kick back on the couches is Café Arte Fantasy.

Find Plaza Vicenta Juariste Eguino (2-3 blocks from Plaza San Francisco) then head up a block or two along Avenida America. Club Zeus has a sign whereas the others don't; merely neoned doorways leading up and down stairs. Look for clubs 50-51-52 along a small sidestreet.

El Alto Area

Though locals warn me of this area I have had no trouble here. The only thing that concerns me are the packs of dogs along the sidestreets; some of them are really mean fuckers. Take care after 6-7pm when they start to wake up and move around.

They will kick you off the La Paz to El Alto microbuses on main street Avenida 6 de Agosto (in Zona 12 de Octubre). Running perpendicular to the cliff descending into La Paz are the Avenidas: 6 de Agosto, Jorge Carrasco, Franco Valle, Raul Salmon. Running parallel to the cliff are the numbered calles. 9 clubs on this list are on the Jorge-Franco-Raul avenues, the best of these being Acapulco.

Finally I found a chica for the price. She's not a Playboy model but at 19 she will do. Little Linda of the Dolls casa, 50 Bolivianos, or 625 pennies. I knew this place was going to pay off. Dammit, I wish I would have kept hitting it more often. I will be returning tomorrow to further test drive this newest model.

Earlier in the day I tried a second girl from El Alto's Acapulco. Carolina, 22 years, from Corico (in the jungle). 625 pennies (50 Bolivianos).

Both girls I probably would have passed on in Quito, but hey, this is La Paz. And 625 pennies of expense is hardly worth a second thought.

The last couple nights I have been hitting the four clubs on Laoyza. More in particular, Malibu. I convinced bartender Fernando he was ripping me off with 30 BS small beers and argued he should be selling me large bottles for 30 BS. It worked. The girls don't get any money from the sale but I get my large beers for just under $4.

A couple of the girls stand out. One was a cutie 18 year old named Angela. Another is Carla, 18, and bubbly to chat with. Another chica showed up last night that caught my eye but I have yet to talk with her. Large eyes, beautifully soft face, dressed nicely, she makes the other girls look unsophisticated.

Further Market Thoughts: Argentina

Way back in Quito I skimmed the articles and viewed every photo on the ISG South American boards. In doing so it was Paraguay and Argentina that initially appealed to me.

I am now looking at Argentina more. Ouch! Entry fees for clubs, higher drink prices, and the most important part the chica prices seem to regularly start at 100 pesos, or $33US. The regular guys here quote 150-200-250-300 pesos as normal. Some guys are even paying 450 to 600 pesos ($150 to $200 US)! Geezus, I don't care how beautiful a chica is my dick and money stay in my pants for that price.

In contrast to the clubs the 40 peso -- or $13 US -- apartments seem few and far between, the exception and not the rule. The low-cost apartments more often run 70 to 100 pesos ($23-33 US). Ugh. No wonder other ISGers were impressed by the prices I quoted for chicas in Quito.

It appears with Argentina's economic stabilization comes consistently higher chica prices. More legit jobs dries up what once was a flooded market of cheap chica supply.

I am wondering if my South American chica-paradise has already been finalized. Ezinho thanks for inputting your knowledge of S.A. prices when I had none. In retrospect I am becoming increasingly glad I maxed out my time in Quito -- and documented it so well. For never again will I be able to see through the eyes of a newbie with such enthusiasm.

By being able to compare markets I am better understanding why I went nuts in Quito -- as a convergence of many factors that greatly appealed. Chica quality and variety (Manabi girls, negritas, Columbians), prices ($6.50 to $20), security in the clubs (a third party present, guards, etc.), ease of use (all prices being fixed and advertised, who needs to negotiate?), number of clubs, relative city safety, porn on the tvs, and finally but importantly -- cheap drinks.

It looks like Asuncion of Paraguay may be my only Quito-alternative going foward. C'mon subaculture, don't let me down with those reports!

I am still hitting the circuit regularly, drinking my face off in doing so. A couple 6.5s pop up here and there in the 200 Bolivianos casas, but paying $25 US for a 6.5, for me, isn’t a good trade. I could be fucking Dominique for less.

Last Tuesday I stuck to the Miraflores clubs. Visited Mongos for the first time. Lame. Stuffed like pickles in a jar it is your typical club where it is impossible to move around, shuffle-dancing on a six inch piece of floor. Ended up at Dulce Miel. I’ve seen a couple potentials there now. Only prob is breaking myself and them from current company to hook up together at some point in the night. The girls, once they have you, stick to you like glue in the hope of getting more silver bracelets to wear (purchased drinks).

Wednesday was a day off. Thursday arranged a visa extension. The extension is supposed to be free (the first cop confirms this). Upon my return at 4pm a second cop says there is a ‘problem.’ Yeah, the only problem I can see is that he has surfed the many pages of country stamps in my passport, sees where I am from, and knows he can extract some cash. Paid him $20 to get another 30 days (just as I had to for my first extension in Rurrenabaque).

During the 11am to 4pm wait for my passport extension I bussed to El Alto to go and scope out club Acapulco again. My first visit here was about 8:30pm to 9pm, as the place was closing, so no chicas were present. Based upon subaculture’s success there I decided for a return. Two girls stood out, both tall, slender with flat tummies. I selected one, Camilla of Santa Cruz, age 20. Paid her 50 BS. Room was a good size, clean. She even looked decent naked. Although the indigenous-mestizo and Spanish-creole populations lived in close proximity, in practice they were divided by all kinds of physical and symbolic barriers.

On the heights, slopes and edges of the Altiplano (EL ALTO) live Aymara Indians who have migrated from the countryside. The middle classes live in the heart of the city, at around 3,600 metres , near the administrative and commercial centre. Below 3,500 metres are residential districts where an affluent and largely white population lives in expensive houses surrounded by gardens whose upkeep is favored by a more temperate climate.

Of La Paz inhabitants, 79% of its inhabitants are Aymara, 6% are Quechua and 19% are European descent. What I really wanted from this trip was to find some European descended girls in the brothels. My hotel was 40B and included cable TV, but shared bath. I changed Message me for address.

I headed back and hailed down a radio taxi. These guys wear shirt and ties and are generally safe bets. I paid 15B for my trip to El Alto. From then on, I took micro buses from Prado.. they shout out “Autopista” and it costs 2b to El Alto and 1b back.
