It being a slow Sunday I will take the time to compare the La Paz market to what I know best, Quito.

From the 50 or so casa and club options investigated here in La Paz I have sampled three chicas.

Last Tuesday. Already during the day I had hit many of the low-end options and been sorely disappointed in the offerings. The cheapest it gets is 30 Bolivianos for a half hour of servicing. This is the currency equivalent of $3.75 US. In classic Quito math that works out to 187.5 pennies for 15 minutes. Doesn’t get much cheaper than this. So we have a desire to fuck, the price is oh-so right, but the quality of the market is lacking. A real conundrum.

Many of the girls are overweight, small breasts, big ass, overflowing gut, and f-ugly face. I wouldn’t look twice at something like this in Quito, even if it is a quarter of the price here in La Paz.

By 11pm I hit Dulce Miel on 20 de Octubre. One of the things that cheeze me off in many of the bars and clubs of La Paz is their beer. Many charge 30 Bolivianos ($3.75US) for a beer -- but they don’t bring you a cold bottle, they bring you a small glass of warm beer. Call me weird but this really bugs me. Dulce Miel is an exception. The only fuckclub in all of La Paz I have found to date that brings a LARGE bottle of COLD beer to your table for 30 BS.

The second thing I immediately liked about Dulce Miel is they do NOT have a two-tier pricing system. As many of you know the clubs here charge one price for your drinks and an inflated price for chica drinks. As example I ordered a beer for a girl in Katanas, 30 BS -- what she received was a beer glass even smaller than mine. Not the case in Dulce Miel (at least for the beers).

I order a beer and ask to see what they have for chicas. The first one to round the corner is a 5.5/6, semicute face, b-cup breasts, a little bottom heavy. The others are similar or less quality. The first girl, from first sight, is enthusiastic to spend some time with me. Bored, I shrug my shoulders and invite her to sit with me. Moved into a private booth with curtain shortly after for no extra. She is nice and outgoing enough, so our chatting and laughing evolved into snuggling, snuggling to caressing, into kissing, fondling, and groping. We were averaging one or two make-out sessions per beer by 3am. I could tell when my tongue flicked her ears and neck she really liked it, so by the time my fingers hit her panties and pussy she was good and wet.

For the next three hours we alternated between talking and playing. She was in my pants, stroking me, and I was up her skirt, fingering her, all the while swapping spit and pouring beers down our throats. By about 5:30am she stood up, leaned back onto my lap, while I sat. For Thursday night I ended up in Variete. A couple girls here are eye-catching. A show and dance started at 2am. About 3:30am one chica throws ice cubes at me to get my attention. Diana of Paraguay. A decent looker, kinda darker heavy-metal looking, which I like.

A second girl, Barbara of Brazil, later approaches me to satisfy her curiousity. She is super-slender, small breasts, long hair to her ass, pretty face. A solid 8. As I deny both Barbara and Diana drinks they move on to other tables shortly after.

During the song and dance routine I notice a new girl. Wow. A figure with all the curves, full breasts, long hair to her ass, beautiful face. A very nice 9, maybe even 9.5. She is not for sale, however (declining a drink from a table of guys), and talks to another dancer on the side.

I noticed not one of the 25 chicas here fucked a male during the night. They simply played hostess and made money on the drinks purchased for them. You can tell how popular a girl is by the number of silver bracelets she wears on her arm (one bracelet per drink).

Two other note-worthies are found in Katanas. One nicely figured Paraguayan, blonde, who rates a 8.5 (her blonde friends are bottom-heavy). A second slender brunette rating an 8. I suspect the latter is non-Bolivian as well, though I never talked to her.

Of all the places in La Paz I agree with Jwadd (post21) that Katanas and Variete have the best quality girls -- though it seems he hit a real dry period (“inventory fluctuation”). But (A) paying $40 to $100 an hour for chicas in La Paz strikes me as ridiculous, and (B) the best looking girls are not even Bolivian -- they are from Paraguay, Brazil, Argentina.

Don’t get me wrong. There are many pretty, young (ages 18-19), slender Bolivianas in the streets. Just not in the fuckclubs. I ask myself how hard is it to find a chica with a sweet face and a tiny ass? Obviously it is hard.

I have been thinking for some time that upon their 20th birthday Latinas undergo some sort of catacalysmic Nutty Professor transformation where their figures are instantly warped and an extra 100 pounds is added.

Comparing the Quito to La Paz markets, I think Quito has three distinct advantages. (1) it has the province of Manabi to provide the most beautiful girls in all the country, (2) it has the northern/coastal negritas to spice things up, and (3) the overflow of gorgeous Columbians seeking to escape the madness up north.

La Paz, by comparison, has none of these bonuses, except a trickle of foreign chicas that set up camp here to be ‘exotic’ to the local males and milk drinks from them. The local native chica population is similar to scoping out an Indian reserve back home.

I love Quito for being able to buy 15 minute increments. Need more time? Buy another ficha for 700 pennies. It’s flexible, efficient, cost-effective. I loved being able to fuck two or three hot chicas in a single night. That is the ultimate in indulgence.

By contrast, in La Paz, for the foreign chicas that are fuckable the price is too high for my budget. I don’t want to tag one at $40-$50 minimum, never mind three for $120 to $300.

Finally on Friday I settled on a 6 at 1448 Juan de la Riva, office 3. Indira, 20 years old, from La Paz. 50 BS, half hour. Ugh. Why do I do these things to myself? After the session I went for some sushi. Exited the restaurant in a good mood. Doubled back to 1448 Juan de la Riva, int 120, office 5, for Paola, a super-slender La Paz chica with some teeth missing. Figured her tiny ass might be enough. It wasn’t. 50 BS. Try using baby oil as lubrication. Fuck me. Her tiny pussy looks like raw hamburger as a result. I spent more time stroking myself to stay hard to penetrate her than fucking her. Then the condom broke. Great. I dressed and exited.

Convinced there must be ONE feel-good Boliviana out there for me, on Saturday I hit El Alto’s clubs. One club, named Penelope, finally came up with a decent looker, Julie, age 19, a 7 on the richter scale. Only one problem: she wouldn’t look at me. Not for a second. When I pulled 50 BS out of my pocket for her she asked me which (other) girl I wanted. “It’s for you” I stated. Again, which (other) girl did I want. I took the hint, shaking my head and exited, bussing back to central La Paz. I am so unenthusiastic at La Paz offerings by this time I opt to return to my hotel at 9pm on a Saturday night to watch movies, particularly The Empire Strikes Back. I found this movie, my 53rd time viewing it, to be of more value to me than what La Paz pussies have to offer.

Today, a Sunday, yet again determined to punish myself, I hit three casas in Miraflores: Scorpion, Casa Blanca, X-tremo Sensual. One chica in Scorpion stood out, a semi-petite-cute 19 year old, quoted 130 BS, half-hour. But again, would I have looked at her in Quito? No.

So here I am in an Internet shop wrapping up my thoughts on La Paz, satisfied I am not missing anything great. There are probably double the number of small casas/clubs out there to add to the Fuckclub list (with explicit details/addresses), but with the most popular clubs visited I have a pretty good sampling of what the city has to offer.

A message to the diehard: keep searching for you are bound to find a super-sweet peach amidst all the aged ones.

After a good rest from the jungle I am ready to move south to Potosi, into Chile for its volcanos, then Argentina, the latter being Jackson’s homeland.

Kimbrough, I hate to disappoint but I don’t have any photos to post! Sure wish I did for if this city had a good selection of fuckclub-chicas at 30 BS it would be another awesome buyer’s market rivaling Quito/Ecuador. Not the case, unfortunately. Alphabet-spasmolytic Nibu Raphael loves this place, particularly El Alto, but wow, how much does a man have to drink and snort to see what he did?!

Lastly, as a form of consolation we all seem to add to our ISG-La Paz posts, as a city in itself La Paz is pretty cool. Lots of winding streets up and down hills making for curious exploration. Safety is a non-issue. I walk everywhere and feel safe. As I am in excellent physical shape the altitude does not affect me.

Half of the country is jungle so doing a trek there is worth it. And, of course, the Andes make for good hiking. So lots to do here otherwise. And cheaply. My two weeks taking it easy in La Paz have cost me about $300US.

First mentioned are the casas and clubs with definite addresses, most of them I have verified with a visit. Places I have only partial information on or cannot find at present are listed at the end. Perhaps others members can fill in the blanks over time. My commentary on the La Paz scene will be the next post I do.

The following info is compiled from the ISG Bolivia board, El Diaro and La Razon newspapers (Fridays), plus two booklet publications I stumbled on at newstands called "Tu y Yo" and "Dseos". The booklets were goldmines for names and addresses.

El Alto Area

Though locals warn me of this area I have had no trouble here. The only thing that concerns me are the packs of street dogs along the sidestreets; some of them are really mean fuckers. Take care after 6-7pm when they start to wake up and move around.

They will kick you off the La Paz to El Alto microbuses on main street Avenida 6 de Agosto (in Zona 12 de Octubre). Running perpendicular to the cliff descending into La Paz are the Avenidas: 6 de Agosto, Jorge Carrasco, Franco Valle, Raul Salmon. Running parallel to the cliff are the numbered calles. 9 clubs on this list are on the Jorge-Franco-Raul avenues, the best of these being Acapulco.

This is the Egyptian-themed joint at the bottom of the Puente de los Americas. I first tried to go to Anaconda's across the street, but the doorman told me that as of 11:00 pm on a Thursday night there were no chicas there, I should go across the street to Catano's.

The club appears to be a US-style strip club, with a stage with poles and women stripping (on occasion). There were plenty of women, but the average had to be about 6, seemingly well below the average boliviana one sees on the street. Many were chubby, and not too attractive. There were a handful of attractive blondes that apparently were Paraguayas. The waitstaff was very attentive, and it was a comfortable place. There were plenty of women to go around (say, 30). Very few seemed pushy or predatory. I met up with a chica who was about a 6. She and I had at least 7 whiskies apiece, and the tab was Bs/ 660; supposedly hers were Bs/60 apiece.

There are private rooms (sofas enclosed in glass), and there are very private rooms (in the back). The very private rooms cost Bs/ 100 for supposedly 20 min. I'm sure I was there longer, without any hassle from the staff. The rate for the chicas is $US 50 for that same 20 min. The rooms are quite crummy, furnished with old furniture ripping at the seams, no beds. The walls have red carpeting and mirrors. The florescent light is tinted red. A midget monitors the rooms. Not sure why I mention that, except that it added to the surreal character of the experience.

My amiga seemed quite shy, and claimed it was her first trip to the back rooms. My impression was that this was closer to a US-style strip joint, with some fraction of the women there only to earn cash by touting drinks. The dudes there seemed to be more there for ogling a few hot paraguayas than doing the deed. I saw many a mesa full of guys just drinking. Overall, it was far from the best experience I've ever had, but neither the worst.

His dad was a mish there and cousin said he would not go back there to visit. Here's his comments about the country:

It was at Colba, just a flat place on a hill, that has
now been shut down. It was about 90 miles from LaPaz, but he did not
know which direction. He said that due to the high altitude and hard
travel there, he would not consider going back.

There had been a farm and an orphanage there at that time. He had seen a picture of the place, taken from the air lately and the buildings are not in use and going bad. It had been shut down, because of lack of need for an orphanage.

At that time there had been about 8 to 10 missionaries, and they had
worked largely on the farm work, food for the orphanage etc.

Cousin said that the state department when sending ambassadors, rated Bolivia a lot harder and more difficult area than Bulgaria or many other
places.. He said that it is a very poor country with no resources to
improve the country. He also said that there is a lot of greed, with
those in charge, like stealing. He said when missionaries send barrels,
ahead, even though they are sealed shut, when they get them, the barrels
have been opened and items stolen. Much money passed under the table for
privileges etc. in Bolivia.

Thought I'd add a post, since nobody has posted here in ages.

La Paz does have a scene, it is just that it is pretty small, without the great quality that one can find in Argentina or Peru. A lot of other reasons to come to Bolivia, but at any rate, if you are acclimatised and want some action, it is there. The previous post mentioned 333 Belisarios Salinas. That is incorrect. I believe 444 is the correct address, at least now..it is listed in La Razon, which has a lot of chica ads. I avoided Katana's, thinking it a bit of a touristy type ripoff. Instead went up to the top of Loaiza, just above C. Sucre, where there are 4-5 nightclubs. Went into the highest one named Maipu. There are similar clubs to this on a small strip of 12th de Octubre. Anyways, drinks are 30 bolivianos ($4), same for chica drinks, no entry. I came in about 10, the place was deserted. They evidently all stay open until 6 am, and the action doesn't really get going until 1!! There were 4 chicas when I arrived, most of them overweight and not my cup of tea, nursed a beer for an hour, and several more chicas arrived. Finally, one who looked promising came in, but the papasan said she was unavailable, for whatever reason. I was just about to leave when a chica from Beni arrived, decent enough (6-7max) and more importantly, quite friendly. We chatted a bit, then headed upstairs. All these clubs have private rooms for 50 bolivianos, they are basically a few couches and tables, and rather dark and filthy. Chica gets 200 bolivianos, and there doesn't seem to be any time limit or restrictions, an interesting evening out, not too damaging on the pocket, and the club was friendly enough to a lone gringo, but it certainly isn't Argentina!

I really ranged, roved, scoured and trolled this place. I figured an internationally prominent city like La Paz HAS to have a good scene somewhere in its boundaries. Well, I never found it.

But, lest I seem like a Bolivia-hater, stolen camera in Cochabamba and food poisoning in La Paz did nothing to dim my enthusiasm for this place. Bolivia is awesome: beautiful scenary, awesome people, great culture, cheap, etc. It's just that the sex scene sucks here, that's all.

I guess the best club in town is Katana's. It's located at the intersection of Capt. Ravelo and Pnt. America (bridge). Drinks vary from 30-60B (same for girls, but they get a cut -- so watch out for drink sharks). Rooms with sofas are 100B; girls want anything from 40-100USD (always open to negotiation). About 50 girls on any given night; not many of them over 5-6. Sigh.

Across the street from Katana's is Anacondas. Big and dead. Like under 10 girls, none of them cute. Dunno how they stay in business.

As an aside, there's also another club up on the opposite end of Capt. Ravelo. It looked low-ish end; didn't go in; probably not worth it.

The next "best" place in town is Variete. It's up on Ave. Busch (Miraflores). Same lay-out and more-or-less same pricing as Katana's. Fewer girls who are (somehow) less attractive. Many have no business working in the sex industry.

Continuing down the curve, there are many many lowish-end clubs along Ave. S. Bolivar after it hits Ave. Camacho. Didn't go into any of them. I figured if the marquee clubs are so bad, what's the point of going into the lower end ones? Expect prices to be cheaper (duh); no security issues.

SWs: No street walkers that I could find in/around Plaza del Estudiantes. There were, however, some on Ave. 20 de Octubre (oriented/in line above Plz. Estudiantes).

Checked out a few private houses, too. They all sucked. One is up from Mongo's (famous restaurant/hang-out). Address is 333 of that street; look for "Tweety birds" on the front gate. 3 girls, 200B all inclusive. This place might be called Bellisaria Salinas. Dunno. Cabbies didn't know either.

Another house was near Variete (Ave. Busch area). No name that I can remember. Same pricing as above. Sorry for the vagueness. More girls though; some 6.5-7s.

There are tons of clubs in and around La Paz (Atlantis, etc., etc.). Outside of the ones I mentioned, though, they're all going to be low-scale, ugly-contest joints. Why am I so harsh? Well, go to Bolivia and wonder at how low the average can get. It's even worse, in a way, because "regular" Bolivianas (in my opinion) are classically beautiful. I guess they stay home at night.

El Alto: Well, I certainly went in and out of this place enough to have an opinion (it's a suburb up the valley from La Paz proper). This place redefines low-end. Many clubs up here. All locals, all bad (IMO). There's probably not a single girl working in them that's above a 4. Really. Better to take a cold shower and/or cuff your carrot.

Few words of parting: Don't hate me for this post. Some of you guys really like this place. I know you guys are cool; but is it possible that the altitude has made you a little giddy?

Also, one gent. said that Katanas used to keep less girls who were (on average) much more pretty. So maybe regular inventory fluctuation was on a down-trend when I was there. I was with a bunch of guys, and they all agreed with my estimation of the scene (if that helps my case any).

Maybe the best thing to do is go to Mongo's (or some other popular, non-working girl hangout) and mix with the locals. They're a horny bunch and it shouldn't be too tough to get laid in this city.

But go to Bolivia and have a great time. Fun-fun.
