    Long term lodging

I will be moving to Santa Cruz for at least a few years, and will need to acquire an apartment or a hotel that offers long term rates. A (semi)furnished apartment is preferred. Do any of you have any recommendations and/or contacts for this area?

Mi espanol no es muy bueno, pero me gusta hablar y practicare con mis novias antes mi viaje.

Muchas gracias por tu ayuda, mis hermanos.

    Hey Samu Ray,

The travel by bus from the border to scz will be a 1000 kms. And you better do a stopover in Cochabamba if you want, very nice place and nice girls to stay for a few days.

Hey you gonna stay for carnival (not to be missed) in scz or your leaving before that, if you stay we can meet. I'm arriving from australia in the end of January in scz so I can show you around.

It appears that the straight line distance is 400-500 statute miles. Of course, given the topography the actual travel distance is bound to be at least 1/3 of that more, depending on mountains, rivers, and indirect routes.

I used Google Maps. You can also download Google Earth to plot out along the major roads.

I normally would have encoded the URL in ******* to save space, but I do not want to annoy Jackson.

    Have a good trip.

...how far away is St Cruz from Peruvian border?

While looking for some information on the subject I came across a report that
said ...¨you need $ 1,500 a moth to have a good time in St Cruz¨...

I have made it on about $ 400 a month in Pattaya for the past four or five
years. The first time I ventured into Pattaya I stumbled into a Hotel that had
three rooms for $ 5, the rest of the rooms were more expensive. The place is
cleaned every day, two bottles of water daily, cable tv, no a/c, fan, five store high, no elevator. On the corner of 2nd road and Central road there is a Super-Market, they have cheap, freshly made food every day. Some days
I would have the luxury of washing my food down with a bottle of beer . I would screw once a week, depending on how often I would find an attractive *****. So, it depends on how deep you want to cut corners!

    Hey guys,

Howyadoing writing for you people. I got some Knowledge of girls from Santa cruz because I lived there for 12 years. I'm 19 now. But I'm living overseas right now but going back there before carnival that is in February next year and god there are plenty of pussies screaming for cock in that time of the year and is no bullshit what I'm writing. Listen first of all girls from santa cruz, beni and pando (bolivia) are heaps better than peruvian girls in any way. Good case is Miss bolivia 2006 in miss universe this year she came in the ten finalist but she deserved to be higher tha that and you know she is from santa cruz so there you go.

You want heaps of girls then go before the start of carnival (it is in February) a week or couple of weeks before until the end of it if you can. Girls will do go to bed cheaper because they need the money to party hard in carnival and guys go around the university gabriel rene moreno around the shops in avenida busch there are plenty there young and cheap.

Do it guys don't forget I'll be writing soon. Have to go now.

    Santa Cruz Budget Debate

I like Member 2055's analytical methods, advice, and would tend to think $1,500/month would do. The only difference of opinion I have is eating from street vedors. Hepititus and other sicknesses are often contracted, even by the locals, from street vendors.

Bolivia is a dirt cheap country, but Santa Cruz is the most expensive place in the country. However, by any standard it is not nearly as expensive as large cities in Brazil, etc.

The truth of the matter is:
    1) how good is your Spanish?,
    2) how young and good looking are you and how good is your game with the "chicas"?, and
    3) how much experience do you have living in Latin America? If you are strong in all three, this trip can possibly be done for $1,000. However, if you are weak in any of these it can get expensive fast. Even very poor countries are effective at separating an inexperienced, English speaking gringo from his money. Happy Mongering. M. L.

Below is another PM I received:

    You Are Still Fucking Nutz...

Hey Diphead Munch Your post almost had Traveller 22 Cancel. where The Fuck do you come across that Santa Cruz is expensive? It is not. Everywhere in Bolivia is cheap. Most people in Bolivia just live on over a 100 bucks a month. It is the poorest country in South america and is like 70% Indian even more then Peru. I think Peru is like 45% Indian And i Still lived cheap there. Dude Do You Take Viagra on these trips? Not Everyone can blow a load everyday And bow there money everday. 1000 Is Plenty for this dude Traveller. Bolivia Is Cheap like I Keep on telling him. He could even do it on 800 a month for sure As long as he just stays in Santa Cruz even if he did travel too on 800 he might get by on that since Bolivia is Damn Cheap... Damn Munch People are Not Rich Like You. Stay away from South America And Do not ruin it for us go to Europe then. Do not screw things up for us mongers that want it low down and dirty or middle class style....

Santa Cruz on $50 per day

$10 per day, decent lodging with aircon and cable TV.
$10 per day for meals, eating well.
$20 per day for a sweet honey from one of the clubs, 2+ hours session.
$10 per day for taxis and incidentals. Buses are easy to figure out, so you could get around cheaper, and take taxis only at night.

The above budget assumes that you want to monger everyday without a break.

I am sure you could find more expensive hotels and more expensive clubs.

If you do the math, a monthly budget of $1500 is needed.

On the other hand, if you are willing to settle for lower quality girls from the whiskerias or the streets, you could shave off $10 from your daily expenses.

Eating at least one meal from street vendors could reduce your food budget by $3 per day or so.

It seems that you could live well and have women every day for about $1100 per month.

Having a girlfriend there might reduce costs further--I don't spoil them for sure.

For $2000 per month you could really have a blast.

    Traveller22

    Dear Traveller22,
I received a PM from a fellow mongerer concerning your budget of $1,000/month. The author obviously disagrees with me. Wanted to make sure you got to read his comments as his perspective is quite different than mine.

My advice is: construct your own budget estimate ahead of time by reading travel books, searching the on-line newspaper classified ad sections in Santa Cruz, other websites and this forum. You should be able to piece together housing expenses, food costs, etc and get a pretty good idea for yourself from that. Each one of us has different needs and levels of comfort that we want. So good luck and happy mongering.

Here is the text of the PM I received:
    ARE YOU FUCKING NUTZ???
Munch Lunch Not To Be a Fucking Prick But Dude Bolivia is a poor [CodeWord140] ass country And Very Cheap. its The Cheapest country in South America with or without Evo Morales. $1,000/Month

    Dear Traveller22,
The short answer is that $1,000 is not enough. It has been a while since I have been in Santa Cruz, but because it is a center of economic activity pricees are steep by Bolivian standards.

However, there are a few workarounds that might help you keep your costs down: 1) get an apt or rent a room at a home where they rent rooms to students, 2) get a girlfriend there, rather than P4P, 3) know enough Spanish to worm your way into the culture and get discounts.

Depending on what style you are used to traveling and mongering in, I think it would be very easy to spend $100/day there if you stay in a decent hotel and get high quality girls. Even if you are fluent in Spanish and a very experienced monger, $1,000 for a month could be very tight.

That said, Santa Cruz is the only sure thing in Bolivia for mongering - it is great.

    Best of luck,
    M.L.

I have heard that it is the most expensive place in Bolivia.

Do you think 1000$ will be enough, all included (correct accomodation and chasing non-pro girls)?

    La Paz vs. Santa Cruz

[QUOTE=Concarne]I am a little curious as to why there is so much more info on Santa Cruz then on La Paz? You would think the capital would have a lot more information than other cities....is there a particular reason why?QUOTE]

It has been a decade since I was in Santa Cruz de la Sierra and La Paz in the same trip. The reasons, are mostly climate and racial groups. La Paz is at such a high elevation it is constantly cold, even in a house, and often rainy or cloudy. Nobody gets in the mood in these conditions. Whereas, Santa Cruz is tropical, people wear less clothing, party more, etc. Secondly, La Paz is full of conservative, rotund, highland Indians who go to bed early. Santa Cruz is full of a mix of tropical Indians who are quite sensual and sexual, plus, imports from all over Brazil, Paraguay, etc. Also, Santa Cruz is a center for transport acrosss the borders and is always way looser than La Paz.

As a general rule, I have found in Latin American: the more tropical, the more sexually uninhibited.

    Have a great trip!

Because the women in Santa Cruz are HOT, as in Brazilian-looking hot.

Various schemes abound however. Sometimes some guy posing as an undercover cop approaches you on the street and wants you to show him your passport. Don't!
It's a scam. You may not see your passport again.

There is not much poverty in Santa Cruz as compared to the rest of Bolivia.
Women don't seem that desperate. Yet, there is great action in some of the clubs.

There are also many private residences on Tercero Anillo that taxistas know about where women and drinks are available.

I found the clubs to be the best bet in this town.

There is a girl, called America who worked in one of the clubs there.
Hot, Brazilian--looking babe, sweet, passionate very GFE-like. A great woman if you are looking for a three-hole allnighter.

    Santa Cruz

Having been here for 3 months I can report that SC is a great place for mongering without cost! The woman here are exceptional ... beautiful, open minded and never create hassle .. if you say you just want fun they huff for a while than agree ... My experineces range form first arriving and calling girls form the local paper .. all very sweet and amazingly good value at $10-30 and hour (plus taxi at another $1 or $2)!! .. to the party zone of Equipetrol .. where fun is had till 6 or 7 in the morning In many visits there I have never not failed in getting at least 2 tel numbers of 7-9* girls. On 3 occiasions my phone has rung later in the evening(morning!) and the girl has agreed/ offered to come to my house .. each time resulting in wonderful sex.. usually bareback which is foolish but great fun! Remember these are all honest girls not pros.. they range from students, to secretaries to lawyers .. if you are a non-Bolivian you are a magnet for some v attractive women here! I can fully recommend Santa Cruz!

    Hotels Price in Santa Cruz

There are some nice 3 stars hotels near the main square (Copacabana is the name of one of them) and the price is around 16 to 18 US dollars per night breakfast included (Cable tv, hot water all day, etc).

Regarding pussy, there a few nice places with nice girls for around 20 US dollars per hour. Of course there are expensive places where the price is around 80 to 100 dollars per hour.
