Overall, I did not find the average woman walking the street very attractive especially when compared with Rio, Campo Grande or virtually any other city. I was there for 6 days. The only place I found interesting and very erotic was Brilhante. Very kinky. I was only in two prives and I was not impressed with the tallent. The best looking women I met were at Brilhante and they were form towns outside Belo. Actually I have had the best sex and usually the cheapest in smaller towns like Campo Grande or Bonito (one ***** house). An exception is in Sao Paulo. If you have a layover for a few hours in Congonhas jump a cab and go to 468 Rua das Posas. Beautiful magras, young R$50/1/2hr or R$70 for 1 hr in a spacious room with great bath and 4 post bed. This is one of a chain of 20 prives in SP.

The Mercado Central is well worth visiting. Everything is for sale. Birds, fish (alive or dead), foods of every kind, etc. A great experience. Also just up the street was a very clean casa with about 5 mocas. One was pregnant (6 months) and in the game. Crazy place. R$60 for one hr. I had great sex for one hr. with a horny garota.

Later I met a taxi driver who offered to take me to Ouro Preito and all other sites for R$100 (entire day). He also took me to Pampulha. This is a very high end area around a lake. Big estates with grans houses. A local entrepraneur rented one and turned it into a first class casa de garotas. Magnificent house, pool and entertainment center equipped with 30 garotas. R$200 for one hr. I met a nice magrinha (manequem 36) who agreed to meet me in my hotel for R$130. She told me there are 12 casas in the area and offered to be my guide. The address of the casa is 3700. It is right in the lake and can´t be missed. The name of the driver is Fernando 8864-1140.

i have been in belo for two days. it is a clean city built on hills and makes an attractive landscape. i´ve not seen any crime and there is no drug war. it feels very safe like curitiba. i went to the rua guaycurus are and it is safe and clean and cheap. it was designed by fellini. the going rate is r$10 for 15 minutes. of all the places i visited (which was all of them) there were only 4 doable garotas. one was very good, one tried hard and the other two were average. everything is covered. this area is a block of 2 to 3 story hotels with fairly large rooms, toilet, sink, shower and double bed. each floor is lined with rooms. if a door is shut either the girl is entertaining or not in. otherwise, the doors are mostly ajar and there are hundreds of men wandering around peeking in the rooms having a look at a girl, or listening at a closed door. some of the garotas put on a show or try to act as seductive as possible. others simply watch tv.

i am staying at the savassi hotel. girls are allowed without charge and the bellman has several books of gps with a going rate of r$120 for 2 hrs including taxi. the newspaper, estado de minas, has a large relax section with a few casas among a lot of freelancers. i may try a few of these tomorrow. there is a large internet agency system in belo as mentionsed before. more later.

Belo Horizonte is an industrial type city, so they have no beach and most people work pretty hard during the day. If you just go for vacation, well I don't know what you would do in Belo Horizonte during the day. It would be like going to Detroit for vacation, kind of strange.

But they do have *****s, like all cities, so at least your nights will be okay. They charge 200-400 reais depending on the place or girl. I went to Sayonara and Skorpius, but they do not have the sheer quantify of women like 4x4 in Rio de Janeiro, maybe 10-15 girls, 3-4 who are cute and fuckable.

This is my first posting and all amounts are in Brazilian Reais. I was in Belo Horizonte (BH) in July 2003 on business and I stayed at the Ibis Hotel in the Savassi area. It is a 2 star hotel, $69.00 a night, but very clean, and I think they have been open for less than a year. CNN is avaiable on the TV. I have stayed at 5 star hotels and this is just as good but without the marbles and flowers. It is very safe at night in the area.

It was my first time in BH and I had a lot of business to deal with in 4 days and it was usually a 12-14 hour work day. Thus, I did not have time and strength to prowl and monger. However, my first night I ended up at Skorpius at Av. Cristovao Colombo, 571 - Savassi. I think the entrance fee was $10.00. There were 2 mulato girls dancing and maybe about 15 girls sitting around, and even more arriving and heading into a back room. They were all beautiful. After they finished dancing, we had the host or waiter invite them to our table. We had a few drinks together and after some serious groping, we retired to our hotel. I can remember if we paid a bar fine. My girl stayed with me every night and she left when I left for work. I was in love and I wanted to spend an extra day with her but I was unable to reschedule my appoint in Florianopolis. I lost her cellphone number but I will surely look her up when I visit BH in November. She would finish her shift and meet me at the hotel. We agreed on $200.00 nightly and she is worth it. She even ironed my clothes.

There was no problem with her staying with me at the hotel, but I think they checked her identification the first night. The rest of the nights, they just gave a key and called my room to tell me she has arrived and was on her way up. She would promptly hand the key they gave her as soon as came into the room.

Sorry but I did not get a chance to see the city. Have fun.

I promise you, no tricks involved. All I did was call them directly, and asked for their daily rates. If needed in the future, the tel # is (31) 3261-5233. They quoted me R$88 for a single, R$112 for a double. I'll report back on how the experience is there.

When I inquired about the same place through one of the phone numbers listed on hotels.com or one of those supposed "discount" lodging sites, they quoted me $55 USD per night.

I've generally gotten better rates by calling hotels/apart-hotels directly and asking, sometimes even negotiating down. This worked for me in Sao Paolo, Salvador, and BH. I've heard this happens in Rio as well. I have not had to call down to Rio for lodging in a while, so no experience there.

Regarding BH accomodations, I am confirmed at Le Flamboyant Home Service in Savassi (Rua Rio Grande do Norte, 1007), for R$88/night. If it turns out to be home for "flamboyants," we'll be switching to your recommendations immediately. Hoping it's just a name. I did find a few other reasonably cheap options in Savassi or near Savassi, as well. One was R$75 (Villa Emma Residence). Another was located 1.5 kms from Savassi at R$75 (Clan Square Apart-hotel).

I got similar prices to yours when I called the Savassi and Savassinho. Funny enough, when my buddy called, who speaks way better Portuguese than me, he got gringo price quotes, in dollars.

I've been in touch with some of the foristas on gpguia.net. They gave me some info on the BH scene as well. Chick prices at R$100/2 hours, etc.

We'll be there on the 4/2-4/4 weekend. There's actually a 2-day concert going on that weekend called Axe Brasil Extra 2004. Many Brasilian favorites will be performing, including Ivete Sangalo, Daniela Mercury, Gil, etc. Should be a great opportunity to see some of BH's finest, esp. from their VIP area. We'll play during the day for cheap (at the recommended brothel Del Rey near the rodoviaria), and probably hang at the concert and in Savassi bars and clubs at night.

I'll be sure to post my adventures there here.

I tried to send several e-mails without success, so I will post the info you requested. I looked up hotels in the Savassi area of Belo and I found two that are reasonable in price and have been used by Brazilian mongers (Foristas). One is the Savassi at 939 Rua Sergipe, 2 star, tel32613266 R$111 (maybe lower) and the Savassinho at Rua Claudio Manuel tel32611701 R$100. Both are mentioned in the Forums discussed before (www.gpguia.net, Hotside, www.gpbr.net, etc.) They both have a "book"at the front desk. You can make your selection and she will appear at your door - no taxi charge. Check charges, but it was something like R$120 for 2 hrs. Also check out these two sites: www.wapmodel.net and www.wapmodel.hpg.ig.com.br. Most of the reports on the Forums are about girls from the various agencies. I will be there in the afternoon of April 28. I could not find a reference on your hotel in my Guia de Rodas.

Rate is around R 150 whihc is $ 50.
It is girls friendly.

Headed to Belo Horizonte in 3 weeks. Can anybody recommended decent, clean, reasonably priced lodging in Savassi? Trying to stay within the $30-50USD/nite range.

Already found one apart-hotel (3 star), seems great, located less than 2 kms from Savassi, but wondering about others. Anyone with experience or recommendations here please pass along.
