I am looking to stay either in Praia mole or the resort costao do santinho. I think i am going to stay in praia mole . It is closer to centro & many other nice beaches (Praia da Joaquina, Barra da Lagoa, Lagoa da Conceicao).

The resort santinho is too far north an too much driving for my taste.

Can anyone suggest any must see cafe, lounges in praia mole?

Also are these termas up to date? the ones with "centro" in the address are the closest to praia mole

I am going to Florianoplis for New Years an am thankful for all these reports! I was wondering which beach would be the best beach to stay at if one does not want to drive around to the different beaches! I heard that driving around is a big pain in the ass!

I agree with you. With most of the girls I hook up with in Brazil or other places in the world I'm traveling. I've always had good luck in having them hang out without charging anything. Euromania is right. Many cuties from Floripa are working girls in other estados especially in SP, and whenever they return home they are always the sweet homely local girls. I enjoyed your report but one thing you had wrong. I gave a R50 tip NOT u$s 50 tip. I always believe in tipping when you get good service. I'm not saying it should be automatic but the waiter I had was very friendly and did a good job pointing out the sharks from the nice girls and the R50 was worth it.

The price I paid I don't regret. It was more than worth it as I ended up hanging out with the girl for the next couple of days including on the beach and she didn't charge me for that. One night she spent the night.

I also looked at the guide during my trip that you posted. It was helpful but it looked like several of the locals are paying the same prices that I paid and I doubt they got all the free time.

Floripa is a nice place. I'm still thinking about buying a place there. I have to get a CPF number to do that first. The off season probably is a bit boring but like you mentioned, you can always take a quick plane ride to Rio or Sao Paulo. Definitely I'll be back and will try the other clubs you mentioned.

Hi! I am a gringo living in Floripa (several years by mistake). I'm writing a book about humor in Santa Catarina but it not doing good so far. The humor is hard to find here!

Here are a few facts / hints:

1. If you like traffic jam and like waiting forever to get in to Dancing place or just a restaurant. Then you should come here in January and February. March is the best month. Sun every day and nice temperatures. The new School-year starts. Which means new students with new attitude and eager to meet new people. Later on they get fucked up in there head, like the rest of the girls here. The Brazilian men are quite good at manipulating there heads. They talk a lot of shit about gringos and about sex tourism and the girls seem to believe them. In the north of Brazil the girls just laugh and tell them to get lost.

The middle class here is actually poor, but behind a nice facade. They like to show the same clips from poor and deserted places in the north of Brazil in the television here. It makes them feel better and they feel superior to the rest of Brazilians, but the fact is, that middle class in Fortaleza and other cities have more money. Judge it by all the shit you can buy in the stores and then compare with Sao Paolo or other places and see how they spend a very little money here when they go out.

Don't tell them here, they just get angry. Only tell them want they want to hear. They are arrogant bastards and not very intellectual (vagabundos da praia) You are lucky if you see a person reading a book or a newspaper here, not like in Curitiba, sao Paolo or Porto Alegre where you see it in the buses, cafes and other public places.

According to Brazilian men here and my own experience, then most good looking girls here live a double life. They go to Sao Paolo, Rio, Curitiba and (Buenes Aires in the past) for a week or two every now and then and work in private and public *****houses or saunas and for escort agencies. Also many have a few private "sponsors" here, who are paying well for their service in a motel every now and then, so don't be surprised if your girlfriend disappears at strange hours after a short message in her mobile phone. Prostitution here is in fact more commune than in the north but less transparent. Here its the materialism which is the driving mechanism to sell your body in the north its of need. They would rather make a "programma" than asking there brasilian boyfriend or husband for money. Money is holy and being unfaithful is not considered as being very important.

Bokkara is a rip off. Some good looking women are worth the money the ask for. They girls are beggars. They are asking for overpriced drink all the time and sometimes gets aggressive if you say no. They will also start talking shit about you to the other girls though you have never met them before. Many of the girls are lesbians and are more piranhas than they are *****s. Several of them have many female clients outside the place. Just Ask them and they will tell you that Florianopolis is the lesbian capital in Brazil. Its a 40 minutes session here so try to get the phone number from some of the girls and meet them in another place and you will have more time with them. Tell them you are here for a long time. You can pay to get them out the place, but wait until 2. 3 o clock in the morning and they will stay at your place rather than going back to the *****house for more clients.

Noite has a more pleasant atmosphere and sometimes a few good looking girls, also cheaper. Same owner as Bokkara.

La Maison has many girls but some of them don't have too good manners.

In the newspaper under Classificado, there are many girls advertising and some of them very pretty. Learn some Portuguese Fraze's and you will have no problems. If the sex was no good then you only lost little money and then try just try the next add.

DON'T overpay them. It cannot be told often enough. There is a good reason why Brazilian men don't like gringos and when I read about how much one guy in this forum paid for a girl in Bokkara and a 50 dollar tip to the waiter it makes me angry (It has to be an American fool. They are paying two or tree times as much as everyone else. Maybe to be popular? ) Brazil was good before they came, even Help in Rio it was often for free after the carnival season was over, but those were the days.

A lot of the prostitute girls working I Floripa are from the favelas in Curitiba and Porto Alegre so if you are looking for a catarinese then the perfect place is Sao Paolo. They are usually in places where they have to fuck with all the clients who wants them, not like in the north where you meet them in normal bars and quite often the girls there they choose the guy they like to be with. Also here in the south the watch is very important to the girls. Every minute has its price. There are many ***** houses with 20, 30, 40, 60 minutes sessions. I never saw that in the north of Brazil.

Maybe you might experience some cold hearted, calculating bitches here but how would you be, if you have had a thousand paulistas up in your ass!

They are the cream of southern Brazil. Beautiful inside and outside and excellent manners. They will make a good wife or just good company. Threat them well and they will stay like that Catarinese, Paranese will often give you a lot of headache so fuck them hard in the ass and then give them the boot.

Actually the place I stayed was the highest end place I think on the Island. Most of the places are lower end and cheaper. I'm not sure names of other places but I'm sure you can easily do a Google.com search and find names of other hotels or places to stay. My recommendation would be nice beach areas. I saw TONS of places in Ingleses, Jurere, Brava Beach and other beach areas. I would guess that other places aren't expensive.

The girls there are beautiful and it looked like Crime there is almost non-existent. I was pleasantly surprised. I've been to Rio over 2 dozen times and each time the crime situation seems like it is getting worse. This was a nice surprise.

I met several girl (tourists) on the beach from Europe, Peru, Chile and Argentina. I imagine in the summer it's totally packed. I was surprised how great the beaches were. Definitely it's a great place to unwind and enjoy.

Definitely if you can afford it, book an ocean front suite. It's a bit pricey at around u$s 400 per night with the tax but I find it worth it for the view. The beaches are really great here. They say it's "5 star" but compared to other international hotels it wouldn't be 5 stars. Still, the view is great. The bathroom is big and spacious with a Jacuzzi tub also with a view to the ocean.

That is one nice monger casa! looks like a great beach. Would you know if there are any economical / budget places in that area or is it all upscale.

My girl LOVES the room. I also hooked up with some European girls the first couple of nights. They were renting a villa in the same complex and their unit was not so great. They were wow'ed by my room and the view. I hooked up with one of the girls my 2nd night here (non-pro).

You definitely will need to rent a car here but they are fairly cheap. I rented a small car with AC and it was u$s 45 a day including the full insurance.

Definitely if you get the chance stay here and rent an ocean front room. There are huge balcony doors that completely open and there is a full view from the bed so you can open the doors and see the ocean and hear the waves. Very romantic and both girls I've been with were really into it.

Just to follow-up. The girl I met last night at Bokorro already called my hotel room. I'm meeting her here in 2 hours to go to the beach with her. She doesn't have to work until Monday so she said she will spend the next few days with me. We hit it off last night. I'm staying in Santinho and she lives in Ingleses which is just the next town over so definitely I lucked out. She also has a car here.

I wish the clubs were open tonight, Friday and Saturday but with this Easter holiday the clubs always do this. I totally forgot about this. I'm just glad I hit Bokorro last night!

Also, for those of you driving (which you definitely want to rent a car) it's a bit hard to find. I drove around a while lost trying to find it. As you are going through downtown, pass the huge bus terminal (Rodovario) and go straight on Ave. Paulo Fontes. Pass Ave. Herculo Luz and go straight. At the first light, take a left on Jardim Silva and when you see the gas station on the right hand side, take a right turn on Rua Menino Deus. It's 173. It's up near the hospital. They have valet parking there. Everyone there is super nice including the guys at the front door.

They will hand you a paper and explain that you have a minimum of R70 in drinks. It will be easy to hit this buying drinks for the girls. They make some small commission from the drinks so they will keep asking for drinks. I don't care when I'm in these clubs so I was buying drinks for the 2 girls I was with. I was drinking Red Bulls which were R12 (you$s 6) and the girls drinks were R35 each.

If I wasn't clear the price to rent the rooms is R45. You should go at around 11 AM as it gets packed. When I got done at around 12: 45 AM, the place was totally packed! There were many more girls and some of them were super hot when I was leaving. On the website it says that they have some Penthouse and Playboy girls in there. Some of the girls were smoking. My waiter told me it was the best club in town. Not just because he works here but he said it was. He told me some others but I didn't pay attention as I knew they were closed this week.

It IS expensive when you consider the exchange rate is very weak at about 2: 1 with the dollar but this is a vacation and it was worth it considering I'll spend the next few days/nights with my girl. She asked already if she can spend the night here! What a country!

This is a great city and I'm surprised you don't hear more about this city. The girls are gorgeous here with their blend of German and Polish roots. Now you know why supermodels like Giselle all hail from here. Giselle is from a town not far from Florianopolis. Even the girls in the shopping mall are really hot!

This place has to be one of the best gems in Brazil! I'm going out tomorrow with a realtor to look at houses as I definitely can see myself spending more time here. It's a very easy flight from Buenos Aires which is where I was before this trip. I flew Aerolineas Argentina and it was a bit pricey since it's Easter week. I paid you$s 500 for a round-trip ticket. The flight was VERY easy and less than 2 hours and a direct flight.

Definitely Rio has the edge with the termas and Help but this place if you have some game could do VERY well. I've been to Brazil dozens of times throughout the past several years but this was my first trip to Florianopolis (Floripa as the locals call it). I'm super impressed with the City. The locals have to be the friendliest and happiest out of anywhere in Brazil I've been to. There is literally no crime that I can see and the beaches are pristine. I love Buzious but I much prefer Floripa. There are some 40 beaches around the Island. I've hit about 7 of them and I've been here 4 days now.

I hit Bokarra (http://www.bokarra.com.br) which is supposed to be the highest end club here. I got there early at around 10 PM and there was only 1 guy in there. I didn't know what time it opened and I happened already to be downtown so I went in. It opens at 9 PM and it's open until 4 AM. There are shows at 11 PM.

Anyway, I sit down at the booth near the stage. 2 gorgeous blondes sat down and we started joking and laughing. My Portuguese is totally decent so I didn't have any problems talking with them. They were trying right off the bat to get me to do a 3 way "festa" with them. They kept cutting the price down but I was way "into" one of them and wanted to session alone with her so finally after about 4 drinks the other got the hint i was NOT going to do a double.

I buddied up with my waiter (JB) who is very friendly. He hit it off pretty well and he told me that I could go upstairs to the VIP section if I wanted with my girl so I did. Once we got upstairs we were making out like crazy. This girl was gorgeous! Blondie with green eyes and a tight little body. The other girls in the club were ok. There were a few stunners but some were just average. The funny thing is that there were 2 of them that I sessioned with at Help Disco over the years. One recognized me and kept pointing at me to her friend.

We had an amazing session! I've been with a LOT of Brasileras but she was one of the best! Needless to say I only paid the R300. I was drinking a few Red Bulls and the girls were drinking like fish. The deal here is you get a paper upon entering. You have a minimum drink tab of R70 (u$s 35). Then to get a room you must pay R45 as well on top of the girl's fee. My total bill was R680 (u$s 340). Then I chased my waiter and he was VERY surprised when I gave him a R50 tip. He really appreciated it. I knew that I'd be back so I wanted to build some good will. I do this in most of the clubs I go to around the world.

I like the island here so much that I will shop around to buy a house here. You can buy a nice house with ocean view for under u$s 200,000. I definitely can see myself coming here alot.

My girl gave me her # and we are going to spend the next few days together. As lucks has it...she lives just in the neighboring town over in Ingleses and I'm stayin in Santinho so we are very close.

I've been here 4 days and so far I've found it very easy to meet girls here if you aren't shy, have some game and can speak at least some Portuguese.

I was in bokkara the quality is realy good but a little expensive for my taste, some like 350 reais, you can found some good whit a little research. Buy a diario catarinense and after go to classificados, you can found some gems, are a lote of appartements in centro area, and continente too, but you need a car and speak some portugeis. In Floripa during the summer is realy good go on vacation nice club and beach, no girls.
