Back in Brasil for a few weeks with my cousin and came back to Floripa for a week. We flyed from SP and this time rented a nice condo in Praia Jurere from an agency. We before have stayed in centro, Mole, Joaquina, Lagoa, Santinho, Pontas das Canas ect ect, and we decided to stay in Jurere area for a change. Jurere is very developed with very nice condos and huge houses for the local rich people. The beach is not too crowded but very nice white sand. The area has many restaurants and several supermarkets, and we see quite many cuties walking around in this area.

First few days, we just drove around the island to all the beaches and also hunted all over Lagoa areas and Beira Mar areas. Got a few girls to dinner and did not succeed to get down to final business, and too lazy for a follow up date. We were also not in the mood of going to spend big money in the boates because we can do that any time in Sao Paulo. So we just hang out relaxing in Floripa basically.

One night we were eating drinking in a chopperia in Beira Mar, 3 gals came in and 2 of them were quite cute. So my shameless cousin who can speak more than basic Portuguese went to their table and asked them to sit with us. These gals came sit together and started to order without discretion. They know the bill is on us. I can sense they are probably part timers on a night out. We started to chat aimlessly with our terrible Portuguese and their terrible English but had a very crazy time laughing about small crap meaningless stuff. Then my cousin invited them to come over to our condo. And then these girls started to play innocent with us saying things like what are we going to do in the condo? or it's dangerous to go to strangers' condo things like that.

Finally my cousin talked straight to them that told them lets have wild sex together tonite. And they started to chat and giggling among themselves and finally one of them asked us if so what will they get? we told them we give them 150 reais for reward. I quess they okayed because seemed happy to hear that. Actually we like to drop one of them. One was not attractive at all. But the girls said if they go to our condo it has to be altogether. So that was the deal.

On the way back to Jurere we stopped at the supermarket. These gals shopped like they are stocking up for the future famine. They really bought at least a weekly supply of foods and deserts. I quess we will have a food orgy later.

We went back and started to flirt with them. And we tried to do it in a fair way so the unattractive one would not feel left out. Especially my cousin even kissed her out of sympathy. All five of us got quite crowded in living room so I pulled one to my room. My cousin was doing to the other 2 including the ugly one in the living room. My girl was quite physical and rode me until I came and actually I felt pain on my dick and stomach. I was so tired from the day and long night I slept and while they continued their act outside.

I woke up early and went out these guys were sleeping everywhere in living room. My cousin was hugging the girl I screwed the night before. The last day in Jurere we met some girls walking near the beach and they invited us to a house party. The house was very big with swimming pool and sauna. The house belong to a girl whose parents live in Centro and she comes here some times just have party with her friends. There were about 20 something girls there and some of them were cutes and we were able to concentrate on 2 of them who had good interest in us and able to pulled them out for a beach walk while others were eating thier churrasco. We flirted on the beach and I was able to fingered her and she started to jack me off. My cousin with his girl went further and further into the darkness and he screwed her on the beach as I know later. it's friday night at the confraria das artes, one of the hippest nightclubs in brazil, and the crowded patio looks like a fashion shoot set in an antique store. reclining on vintage couches and creaking rocking chairs under moroccan chandeliers, dozens of long-limbed, honey-skinned blondes are sipping caipirinhas and flirting with tanned men in muscle shirts.

supermodels gisele bündchen, mariana weickert and alessandra ambrósio are known to frequent the confraria, as is local tennis star gustavo kuerten. keen to discover who's who, i ask our waiter, rogério, a dashing twentysomething surfer dude, to point out the bar's stars. but rogério is of no use. "i don't know any of them," he shouts over the ambient dance track. "i just took this job to earn some money so i could surf all day. a few years ago no one cared anything about floripa. but now it's gone crazy!"

if a local like rogério is disoriented, imagine how i feel. i thought i knew something about hip brazil - the chic resorts of angra dos reis, búzios and parati, where the likes of mick jagger, naomi campbell and ronaldo hang out. but when a brazilian friend in london told me that the hottest place in the country - and the new punta del este of south america - was an island city in the south called florianópolis, i almost laughed. floria what? it sounded like a greek island. or a brand of toothpaste. if it was so popular, why hadn't we heard of it? turns out millions of south americans have - but they've been keeping it to themselves.

an hour's flight from são paulo, not far from the border with uruguay, floripa, as it's known to locals, is the capital of santa catarina state. it lies on a gorgeous 300 square mile island made up of 17th-century fishing villages, jungle-covered hills, emerald lagoons and more than 40 pristine white sand beaches. flying in from são paulo, it looks like tropical paradise. put a volcano on those hills, and it could be hawaii.

linked to the mainland by a single suspension bridge, for many years floripa was - like the rest of santa catarina - a rural idyll. but in the past five years, the island's popularity has exploded. as crime rates in são paulo and rio soared, wealthy urbanites snapped up homes on its beachfronts and opened restaurants, clubs and bars on its lagoon shores. in 2002, when the current affairs magazine veja declared florianópolis the best and safest place to live in brazil, others flooded in. today, more brazilian and south american tourists head to floripa on their december breaks than anywhere else in the country except for rio, and in summer the regular population of 330,000 swells to more than a million.

they come for the beaches, the surfing, the snorkelling, the seafood and, of course, to party like only south americans know how.

if floripa is a potential punta del este, the centre of the "scene" is lagoa da conceição, a village set around the main lagoon in the heart of the island, beneath the wooded hills. kite surfers skim the glassy water, dodging wooden boats ferrying tourists to seafood restaurants on the far shores, and the sidewalks have the air of a hip southern californian beach town: bustling surf shops, trendy coffee bars and an excellent gourmet "kilo restaurant" called um rosa, where regulars pile up huge portions of fresh fish, mussels, salads and organic meats from a buffet bar for 22 reais (£6) a kilo.

it is the beaches beyond lagoa that are the real attraction, though, and it was time to test them out. those in the north, jurerê and ingleses, are the most commercial: a kind of brazilian costa del sol, with high-rise condo developments and tacky restaurants with menus in spanish to help out all the argentines. far better are the beaches to the east and south, facing open ocean: campeche, joaquina, praia mole and barra da lagoa.

on the advice of my brazilian friend in london we had avoided staying in the city itself and instead based ourselves at pousada natur, a privately run guesthouse in the serene suburb of campeche, and a mere block from the beach. an unspoilt boomerang curve of pure white sand, campeche looks out on a small emerald island that has been declared a national marine park. it has a famous right-break wave that only the legendary surf paradise of jeffrey's bay in south africa can rival. not that i know what a right break means, but every morning hundreds of daredevil kite surfers and boarders paid tribute to it, doing heart-stopping leaps and breakneck speed twists over the towering barrels.

surfing is religion in floripa, and there are several beaches on which to convert. i spent my second afternoon on barra da lagoa, under the expert tutelage of evandro dos santos, a former brazilian champion with his own surf school. he had the looks of a film star and the english of a four-year-old. "watch wavey! look beachy! stand uppy!" he advised, before bursting out laughing every time a bathtub-sized tiddler toppled me. that said, my board was as big as a raft and soon enough even i got the hang of things. by the end i was waving like a superstar at the sunbathers on the beach as i rode the ripples in.

real waves are best left to the pros, though, and luckily my visit coincided with a round of the world surfing championship on praia mole and joaquina, two of the best surf beaches in brazil. among the contestant were local stars fábio gouveia and diego rosa, and six-time world champion (and former baywatch actor) kelly slater. they were impressive enough, but it was hard to concentrate: on the beach, in front of the cafes spinning break beats and selling beers, was a constant parade of barefoot, thong-wearing beauties: such facsimiles of gisele bündchen that for a moment i thought i had spotted her.

ms bündchen comes from the neighbouring state of rio grande do sul, but since she was unleashed on the world santa catarina has been gripped by model mania. as with rio grande do sul, and unlike the rest of brazil, the interior was settled by german and polish farmers in the early 19th century, and over the generations their dna has mixed with portuguese and brazilian blood to produce that distinctive dusky, dark blonde look. there are now five international model agencies in floripa alone.

the hippest hangout of all remains the confraria das artes back in lagoa, opened in 2002 by textile designer rico grunfeld, another são paulo transplant. "when i first came here, there was nothing except kitschy discos," he says. "i knew from visiting paris, london and miami that what this town needed was a lounge!" so, with somewhat bemusing logic, he created a sprawling nightclub with its own clothing boutique and four indoor-outdoor spaces decorated with vintage furniture, clocks, antique cameras and oil paintings - all of which are for sale along with the cocktails.

it seems to have worked: the confraria is frequently rated by são paulo style mags as one of the best clubs in the country and by 9pm the queue outside stretched to the end of the block.

the city of florianópolis dates back to 1752, and the arrival of portuguese from the island of madeira. for centuries it was a famous southern port, fortress and whaling post, but after a recent reclamation of the docks to build a highway, it has lost much of its charm. today it's a maze of modern glass high-rises and faded cement tower blocks facing the mainland. indeed, i was relieved to be staying out in campeche: one could get lost in the city, and apart from a gleaming new sofitel that is being built on the waterfront, the hotels looked seedy or soulless.

and yet remnants of the city's past still exist. the 1898-built public market, just back from the docks, is permanently packed, its stalls teeming with fresh shrimp, mussels, oysters and grouper the size of tractor wheels. don't miss box 32 in the heart of the market, a classy cafe with a dozen tables and bar stools where the post-work crowd come for a lager and portuguese pastries.

a short drive south is another gem: armazém viera, built in 1840, the oldest bar on the island, its wooden floor, creaking balcony and ocean-green walls dating back to the glory days of the port. in keeping with floripa's new image, though, it has updated its drinks menu and features more than 70 premium cachaça cocktails, as well as a dozen mixed with that old sailor's favourite, absinthe.

but there are only so many nights you can spend on the tiles and i saved my final two days to explore the lesser-known parts of the island.

you need a car to get around and after several days of taking very pricey taxis, i contacted marta chiesa of brazil ecojourneys, the first (and so far only) english-speaking tour company to open on the island. a brazilian who had spent several years in london, she had an insider's eye for the hidden gems. we headed north first, to the mainland-facing village of santo antônio do lisboa. a mere 10 minutes from floripa and chichi lagoa, here was another world. stone bungalows lined the waterfront, sun-bleached fishing boats bobbed in the bays and women rode donkeys down cobbled streets past 250-year-old churches. it looked exactly like madeira.

we then drove south, through the least developed part of the island, to the even more beautiful town of ribeirão da ilha. old men played chess and draughts on waterfront benches and seafood restaurants lined the water. the best of them was ostradamus, a sailor-themed oyster bar opened by former hot dog seller jaime josé de barcelos in what used to be the garage of his house. by some way the best seafood restaurant on the island, it was so good that we stayed well past dinner and in the end forwent a final fling at the confraria.

at the time i was quite happy about the early night, but now i'm not so sure. when i arrived back in london, my brazilian friend wanted to know whether i had seen gisele. apparently she was all over the brazilian papers, photographed in florianópolis with new boyfriend and new world surfing champion kelly slater. one of the pictures of her is on praia mole; another looks as if it might be on one of the vintage couches at the confraria.

A coworker and I might be hitting SP around the last week of September and were wondering how Floripa/Santa Catarina would be around this time of year, weather and action-wise. I would hate to show up to a dreary, cold beach or a town without any available hot women.

The other option for a side trip is Rio.

Spent two nights in Florianopolis this Brazilian summer. Definitely not enough time to hunt for locals, and per the other posts in this section, that is by no means a sure thing. The island is full of European looking beauties, young and definitely well-off. To top it off, the weather was foggy/rainy the entire time, so not much beach action.

While driving to the north of the island I saw a billboard for a place called Soak - decided to checkit out. It is near the town of Canasvieras. You can park on the street or in a small courtyard at the facility. Knock on the door, you will be checked out and let in by the doorman (it's in a semi-residential neighborhood, they try to be discreet).

I was met by a 30 yr old who I initially thought was a hostess, she was overall a 6.5 (face = 6, body = 7). She gave me the tour of the club - the first room is a bar, with some couches to sit on and a platform for occasional strip shows. Beyond that is a large open roofed courtyard with a pool (probably 15 meters long) and some outdoor tables. I never saw anyone actually get in the pool. At the back end of this area is what looks like a snackbar version of a churrasco, saw a few girls and one or two guys catching a bite to eat here. Finally, we went upstairs and toured some of the in-house rooms that line the courtyard (almost motel-like). They have two types, the larger one has a jacuzzi tub (all have showers).

After my tour, my guide (Regina, I think) got me a beer and sat down with me. It took a few minutes, but I realized she was my date (think Centaurus in Rio, the girl that grabs you claims you). I finally got her into the bar area, at that point it was filling up and there was a mix of garotas there. An older crowd than SP or Rio, but there were some 8's, especially those doing the strip shows.

I decided to give my hostess a try (she spoke some english) and it was a fun hour. She gave 100% for the full hour, in the bed and in the shower. Afterward, we sat on one of the couches and I met several of her friends. I also got a few phone numbers. The bar fine was a little larger than I expected ($R170, including 50 for the room), but I was there until 3am or so.

The next day, I met Regina in the afternoon at my hotel. She stayed for 3 hours and continued to be fun. As she was leaving town for the rest of the weekend, she set me up with her friend (also 30ish, but very tall and with a natural D chest) for the evening, outside the club (which takes a healthy cut of the girls' fees).

I met Christina at my hotel and we went out for a quick bite, then adjourned to a love motel. She was about a 7.5, not a hard body but curvy with a great rack. Three plus hours for $R200, it was a great way to spend an evening. A very down to earth and sweet lady.

These garotas were a bit older and a bit less jaded than you would find in SP, but that fit the pace of the island. More of a laid back GFE experience than some other places.

I'd never even heard of Florianopolis until about two weeks ago.

I met a girl that lives in Dallas that is from Florianopolis...she is 28, 5'0, 105lbs, hot as hell...She has been in the US for 1 1/2 years, speaks perfect english w/ an accent, etc.

Lagoa is much nicer but is kind of far from the city, 20-30 min drive. I imagine ur school is in downtown floripa. Also hobbying is mostly in downtown. Threre are some nice-looking apartment buildings in the north side of the city with gorgeous views of the bay.

Lagoa has a bunch of restaurants, bars and clubs, so I would recommend it for a night out rather than for staying there

This is the best place to hunt amatures. So many places to hunt. But the best time to go is summer when lots of people on the beach and outdoors. November to Carnival is the best. And also necessary to have a car to move around and have to spend some bucks and hopefully rent a nice condo then a perfect hunting site.

Also need some times as well. Not a one or two night place. If you have all the necessary elements and can spend several weeks there I think getting a few nice amatures not a problem.

Best beaches to pick up:

Praia Joaquina, Praia Mole, Barra da Lagoa, Praia Armacao, Praia Ingleses, and Praia Canasvieras. Canasvieras has lots of Argentinos vacationers but lots of Brasilian garotas too. All these beaches are packed with garotas in the summer season. Many girls spend long holiday from inner Santa Catarina and from other states like Parana, Rio Grande do Sul and SP.

My personal favorite beaches are Brava, Santinho, Jurere, Ponta das Canas. These are not as crowded but beatiful beaches with mountains and very nice restaurants and pousadas. Can hunt girls too.

Also Camboriu nearby in the same state is a good hunting place as well in the summer. Lots lots of holiday babes from all over Brazil.

If you go Floripa during the cold season, then have to hunt in the shopping Beira Mar area or Lagoa area or in the night clubs.

I was there also a couple of years back but I was there in May so there wasn't too many tourists there. I was staying at Praia Mole which was not a very got beach for picking up but I went there with a girl from Porto Alegre. There wasn't many tourists but the local girls were very nice looking though mostly white european looking, not the kind of mix that you see in Rio or SP. My impression at the time was that this would be a nice place to retire to. This place, I think is mostly for guys who like to pick up amateurs. There are club with hookers but not much selections and on the one night that I went to a club called Bokarra, there were more guys than girls and most of the girls are just average looking.

I believe there are more than one hundred beaches on that island. Which beaches do you think are the best beach to stay at for picking up holidays chicks?

This is my favorite hunting ground in Brasil. The people here maybe are more better economically than SP or RJ in general. But the very rich people here is still only small percent. I would say most girls will still like to have a few hundred reais more to spend. The girls even many amatures would spend time with you if you know how to approach them and if you are willing to give them some presents including pocket money. I have use the same strategy for Floripa for many years. In the summer it has lots and lots of tourists from other states and a good pick up season. But it may take lots more money to score here especially with amature ladies than SP or RJ. But the quality of the babes and the quality of environment are so good. This city has so many natural elements to help to succeed getting amature babes. In my 10 years of hunting in this city on and off, I have scored so many amatures and only some pros. If you rent a car, rent a nice condo, willing to spend some money, this is place to hunt amatures and innocent school babes. But if your have limited budgets and time better to stay in Rio or Northeast which is much easier to score.
