as i have stated in previous reports, the ibis is gf, about $110 br and $20 br guest charge. they are renovating the hotel now and who knows what this will do to prices. i am in an updated room, face lift only. biggest problem is no in-room safe. i am not happy with this and i will not use a lobby accessible safe. i will figure something out for next time.

i was out one night and it was dead. i was told it is a slow time of year for tourists. i will go again tonight and get a better idea. i am getting 1. 6 per $ exchange at one of the change joints near the macdonalds.

don't get caught up on the rating systems others use about the girls. there are ones here for everyone. just don't pay over $100 br. it makes it tougher for me to negotiate.

btw. any good places to change money near the holiday inn? i have cash to change and not an atm / bank card.

the casa blanca is 120 reales cash price. for superior (you don't want a smaller room) and gf. info accurate as of today. there are better hotels if you don't mind a more or less 50 reales guest surcharge. $ exchange rate, btw, at sedoc on mons. tabosa was 1. 69 yesterday.

at forro mambo and environs (for me) 90% of the girls are non-doable, even for free. anything longer than a week visit here, you end up doing repeats. the few good ones know who they are and don't show up 'til like 1:30. but, if you're someone who's willing to compromise, there are a lot of bodies in play on weekends. thing i like here is that many are in it for the fun and will spend time with you in the city, at the beach, whereever and don't mention cash. possibly because the are getting monthly retainer from their 'boyfriend' in italy or spain primarily. it's easy to make dates here with regular girls to go out: just look like something in her peer group and pick up the tabs (like everywhere). final random note: girls getting free beers at fm seems to be over for the moment.

As always personally I'd recommend the Hotel Americas, a smaller hotel which is a bit old fashioned (colonial style). Just across the street you have the Hotel Casa Blance, more modern, rooms are a bit more expensive.

I payed like R$ 80 or 100 per night, no extra fee for the girls. But this was three yeas ago.

Both are in a walking distance to the Iracema bars.

Maybe I am there too. Again I'd like to ask the experts how is the situation around Easter?

It might be necessary for me to spend a couple of days near Sao Paulo, and then hop on an airplane to the north. The only time possible is around Easter, so my question to the experts: is it "alta temporada", packed with (Brazilian) tourists? Would hotels only offer paquotes as they do for Dec 31st / Jan 1st?

Regarding the Meirelles early evening action in the barracas across from McDonald. I noticed in my Nov 2008 trip there were fewer GDPs there than in my past trips. In my latest trip in Nov 2010, I noticed more GDPs there than the previous time, but the quality (looks) of the girls was much worse than in the past. Just my humble opinion.

Comparing Fortaleza and Rio might be like comparing oranges and apples, as they are two very different cities.

Fortaleza is a pleasant city. Lots of beaches, nice restaurants and quite a compact city. Still it's not comparible with Rio when it comes to beauty, atmosphere, beach-life, shopping etc.

Fortaleza is a good city for meeting non-pro's. It also a safer city than Rio.

MONGERING:

The mongering scene in Fortaleza and the quality of the girls isn't what it used to be. The mongering scene is quite limited to SW in Beira Mar and Zipi, Cafe del Mar and Forró Mambo. Nonetheless I much rather monger in Iracema than hanging out at Balcony or the Prado Junior area in Copacabana.

The quality in Fortaleza is very mixed with cuties, pumpkin-heads and chubbies. You don't have the variety that you'll find in Rio with lots of dark meat. I rather choose a mulatta with a round ass than a shorty without a neck. Still there are enough of cute girls in Fortaleza to keep you busy.

The girls in Fortaleza are less hardcore than the Copacabana girls. They have a sweeter and more amateurish approach. Easier to get GFE with a Iracema girl than with a hardened Balcony-pro.

When it comes to day-time action Rio wins without doubt.

Pricewise Fortaleza wins. If you get a Balcony girl for R$100 you are supposed to be quite happy. In Fortaleza most girls start the bargaining with R$100 and you can get the price down to about R$70. Even less if you pick her daytime at the beach.

I like both Fortaleza and Rio. I would never choose to monger in just one city. Yet Rio suits me better as I prefer daytime mongering.

Tomorrow I'll be off to Bahia. Mulattas and negras with lovely round chocolate-bundas. Yummy!

They get free beers at Forró Mambo until 2 AM, drinks I don't know. As I understood they can get pretty much as many beers they want until 2 AM, without vouchers. I think Café del Mar has the same rule.

It's good policy as it attracts many girls and the girls are not asking so much about you buying drinks for them. The guys have to pay R$8 + 10% for a longneck Antarctica. I thought of offering the girls R$5 for them getting me beers.

In general the girls ask for R$100-150. Most girls asking for R$150 quickly go down to R$100. A bit of negotiating and you might get the price down to R$70.
