Yearly update on the Fortaleza scene, January 2016.

GENERAL:
Just as many brazilian tourists as usual. Less gringos than last year. Mostly Italians and some Dutch, Germans and Swiss.

APARTMENT/HOTELS/POUSADAS:
Harder than ever to find good apartments, and more expensive as well. Prices from R$150. I stay in a pousada in a great location. Kingsize-bed, AC, Wifi, cable TV, frigobar, oceanview and no extra charge for GF visiting (without sleeping over). Negotiated it down from R$150 to R$90. There are plenty of hotels and pousadas, just check around and negotiate.

IRACEMA CLUBS:
The options for mongering bars and clubs are now extremely limited.
* Wh*re-crossing: In the wh*re-crossing it's just about Forró Mambo left. It's not even open every night the GPs told me. Café del Mar is closed. Some small bars behind CDM, but nothing interesting. The Reggae Bar is still working and sells cheap beer.
* Armazem: Continues to have Wednesdays as wh*re-night.
* Zipi Bar: Zipi is just about the only mongering bar/club that I find interesting. R$14 minimum consumption. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Lots of girls. The majority are hardly doable, unless you're desperate. About a dozen beautiful girls and maybe 1-2 girls that are 9-10 points. The girls ask for R$150, but the majority are propably negotiable to R$100.

NON-PRO'S:
The best way to meet beautiful girls (tourist girls as well as local girls) in Fortaleza is going for non-pro's. Try Iracema, Beira-Mar and Centro. Beware that Fortaleza have lots of short and fat girls with squared heads and no necks.

Canoa Quebrada is a 3 hour busride south from Fortaleza. Not much has changed since my last update.

General: Canoa Quebrada offers nice beaches, cheap lodgings, relaxed atmosphere and excellent restaurants.

Nightlife: Concentraded to a 100 m strip on Broadway. Bar Todo Mundo, Canoa Central, Bar do Reggare, Meu Xodo, Caverna etc. Good lightlife mainly on Saturdays.

Pro's: There are roughly 15 pro's on a weekend. Some are old and ugly and few are hotties.

Non-pro's: Canoa has been one of the easiest places in Brazil getting laid for free. There used be lots of girls coming from other cities and villages wanting to have sex with gringos for free. Also many girls from the neighbour city Aracati. Things have changed a lot. Canoa is no longer that popular. It's still relatively easy to getting laid with a non-pro, but the hot ones are few.

Note: In some cases in Canoa it can be hard to tell wether a girl is a working girl or not. If you're in doubt, just ask (in a nice way). There are whole bunch of gringos in Canoa also looking for p*ssy. They shouldn't offer much competition as they are mostly old, thin-haired guys with big bellies. Are the big nightclubs like Mambo, Bar 34 (formerly Cafe del Mar) closed for good, or just for the summer (their winter)? Or is it just temporary, until the Olympics are finished?

I was there last December and had a great time at Belissma. All the taxi drivers know where it is. If I remember correctly, it was about 140 R / hour. My first visit was on a weekday in the afternoon and it was really slow. Not that many girls, but they were all "do-able". My second visit was on Sunday afternoon and the place was really hoping. Lot of girls, lots of customers.

Zippy's, I've been, it's still alive and kicking, though the talent is far and few in between, no real hotties as such, some OK to nice girls. Mambo's is still working in full force, though, I've not been inside, but, it's defo the number one place to go, I've passed by there quite a few times, seems busy, I will check it out and report back.
