Why don't you go shopping at Carefour on the main shopping avanue in the Centro (can't remember the name of the avenue). There you can find anything you need - it is the same as supermarkets here in England. And you don't have to wait that long.

I went to Carefour and the line there was even longer, it must have been because it was the end of the month, but at both places the lines were very long. Interesting that at DB supermarket across the street, when one check out girl would stop checking out customenrs, waiting for a manager or something like that, all the other checkout girls would also fold their arms and quit checking out their customers as well.

My final Manaus report did not show up as the internet cafe i was using was censoring my access to the board and I kept loosing the site just as I was ready to post. On Friday it rained and the internet at another place on Getulio vargas Av. kept going up and down most of the day.

Been to Remulos once. The place is interesting to see, but the girls are not very good looking, so better avoid. And why pay for pussy, when you can get it for free in so many places in Manaus.

Here are two stories from my trip. I went to Ladeira on a Thursday. I arrived there quite late, it was almost 1:00 a.m. and the place was packed. 10 minutes after I got in, two girls approached me asking if I want to pose for a photo with them. They were sisters, one 17 and the other 19 years of age (that's what they said). Both quite good looking, say 7/10. So we took the pics and then went dancing a bit. The place where they live is a bit like a favela, but the house was nice and tidy. They could speak some English and my Portuguese is not too bad so we were able to communicate. I spent about 2-3 hour swith them, managed to get a few kissess from teh girl, but she did not want to go home with me. She said she has to stay with her friends, but gave me her mobile phone number and told me to call her tommorow. Tommorrow I called her and we arranged to meet in my hotel. She picked me up by car in the evening, we went to some club called Legioes 300 (or something like that), spent an hour ther and then back to my room for an all-nighter. She stayed at my place until noon the next day. This Sunday was my last day in Manaus, so I arraanged to meet up with her again that evening. She came to my room again. This time we did not go out until the morning when I had to leave for the airport. She gave me a lift to the airport in the morning. The girl is 22 and a student of social work at the University of teh Amazon.

I had more fune in my two weeks in Manaus and I am going back there for the New Year. I never had to P4P directly. I did pay for some drinks, etc. but in the end I even saved 50 Reais as I got the free ride to the Airport.

In conclusion, Amazonas is Amazing!.

There are many places to go out, but you have to know where to go as most places are open only one night a week.

Sunday: Xote da Manina, Croccodillo

I'm looking forward to your Remulos report. If you're in the mood you should also check out on of the forró clubs. Companhia do Forró on Saturdays is excellent.

The two other strip clubs on the Remulos street is a waste of time IMO.

BTW, if you don't want to waste R$ 50 on a taxi to the airport you can take the bus going to the airport. It pass on Av Getúlio Vargas. The bus stop at the airport is about 100 metres away from the entrance.

Arrived here in Manaus on Sunday at noon and the taxi from the airport in to town cost 50 Reais, took over 1 hour, due to the midday traffic rush hour. I have been sweating away from the heat and humidity and suffering from the effects of the yellow fever vaccine which i took last sunday in Sao Paulo and has put me out of action for a couple of days. The humidity and the heat is intense and after walking a couple of blocks one becomes totaly drenched in sweat. It took me the best part of 2 days to locate the office of ANVISA, where the certificate is now issued and get the international Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate. I also had a bad case of the tropical runs, which made me have to take cipro and rehidrate myself by drinking 6 liters of water per day with BabyHidrax.

The 2 supermakets on Eduardo Ribeiro avenue are very crowded, with huge check out lines, which take over 1 hour to get thru and the selection is very limited. Best to bring with you all your needs. Yesterday found a great little family restaurant on Rua Dez de Julho #495, besides the Amazon Theater, with several kinds of fish prepared in various maners, accompanied with rice and excellent prices from 8-25 Reais. It is called Arte com Peixe and it was the first solid food i had this week. So far so good. Runing sewage in the downtown streets is common and sanitation is precarious in general, so avoid any food item from street vendors and juices not in sealed sterile containers.

Today, friday it is raining in the morning and the heat is much less and I feel better and will go to Remulos for the first time tonight. There are a couple of venues on the same street as Remulos that open earlier, but I haven´t tried any yet. Daytime action is rather sparse, I have a phone number of La Passiom agency to call for the daytime, but they want 150 reais for 1 hour incall, too expensive even if it were in Rio.

On wednesday, after feeling a little better, at 4 PM, I went to a casa frequented by the sailors near the port, On Rua Marques de Tamandare´. The Holanda bar is located on this street, it was full of drunken sailors and about 1 pot bellied pig type(short, fat in the middle and pig ugly face) garota for every 10 of them, so I passed on by up the road a bit and came to a apparently less crowded casa, which has no sign or number up front, it has green painted front and you go up a short stairway to enter the place.

This turned out to be a total rip off, worst session in 45 years of mongering. The room cost 7 reais with a quite decent electric shower, soap and towel, with clean sheet. The garota was a smal 5 footer, slightly indigenous complexion, which looked ok and seemed pleasant enough, I thought it was a great chance to dive in, as she was the only one available i didn´t bargain very hard as i was interessted in trying the local flavor. Big mistake!

She asks for 30 reais, which seemed fair enough, well once in the room and after i had showered and was ready to go she says; payment up front, First red flag and since I did not have change, she kept the 50 reais i gave her and did not return any change, claimed she would work it off. Second red flag went up, then it got worse as she started to lay down the rules, no kissing, bitting or hair pulling or making hickeys on her, I said well; I can live with that. Then the shocker; as she refused to take her bra off, which was also a first for me in 45 years. So in desperation, I tried to make the best of a bad situation and managed to bang her hard for about 20 minutes, before sucumbing to the heat and humidity, despite the ac being on at full blast. I just went to the shower and she left the room. Great learning experience and one best avoided in the future if at all possible. So that is about it for now and I have until Monday to make the best of it. Thankfully I´ll be back in Rio on the 20th!

No worries! Remulos get closed down every now and then for a couple of days. It's all about politics and bribes.

The club was closed on the 17:th. PF and PM closed the club. 200 visitors were searched and the boss was arrested.

Anyway, according to the Remulos website the club reopened at the 19:th of September. The police didn't find any guns, drugs or minors.

BTW, I just noticed that Remulos are announcing a guest stripper called Marianne Aguiar, 7-18 of October. She's just unbelievable gostosa!

* I think very few of the top-girls at VM are interested in a take away. You better try arranging a meeting daytime. If you want to take a girl away from Remulos you better take one of the free-lancers hanging there. You recognize them by they are wearing normal clothes and not "dancing-outfits".
* Sure there must be escort services in Manaus, but nothing that I know about.

Just about the same as reported one year ago. No major changes.

* REGULAR CLUBS
So many options. My two favourites this year:
- Arrastão do Forró: Fridays, forró, very large place. Excellent for picking up regular girls. It's located on Estrada da Ponta Negra. Taxi or bus 120 from Centro.
- Companhia do Forró: Saturdays, forró, even larger place. A heaven for meeting regular girls. It's located in Cidade Nova. Taxi or bus 300/60 from centro.

In Manaus it is easy to date non-pros and pros. For daytime action I recommend to enter one of the chat rooms of Uol Manaus (bate papo cidades Amazonas Manaus). Many girls would like to train their English there and accept also dates (cinema, beach, shopping). To my experience, every second date will result in a lay down.
In the chat rooms are also advertising pros (with nicks such as garotaprograma or gata$$$).

The quality of pros in the city center and port area is low, many drug users. There are some sex houses, for example in Rua Bacuri 275 (every taxi driver can bring you there), 24 hours, action 60R$ per hour, nice and good looking girls. Your daytime action in Manaus will be:
1. Non-pro's.
2. Dating girls you've met in the evening before.
3. Free-lancers in some outside bars in centro.
4. GP's down in the real lowclass bars behind the bus-station in Centro. The majority of the girls are not doable.

Don't expect any overwhelming daytime action.

If you have other interests than p***y there are plenty of things to do daytime in Manaus. If not, pass the day at Shopping Amazonas and head to Remulos around 7 PM.
