Could you please also tell this, I tried to look from web put could not find.
And is that safety environment to go around in the night time?

I walked the street both directions, found number 229 and 239 but not 233.
Between these two houses there was only huge empty "parking space" or something similar.
So please someone tell me where the hell is this place.

    I thank you
    It depends on the girl.

If she's a regular girl, dinner and some shopping will do just fine.

If she's a pro, you have to add money. How much is impossible to say. I guess that if you offer her something like R$ 500 for staying with you for one week she'll be happy. Except for being your Gf she can be your personal guide in Manaus.

They are the lovely angels of the Amazon.

It must be against the law to tell other forum members to avoid Remulos when going to Manaus. Like, "If you go Paris avoid going to see the Eiffel Tower.
Those are just the types of ugly women I'm looking for...................LOL

Thanks Sperto. That's what I was looking for. Much appreciated. I'll do a quick report back when I completed the trip next month.

Plaza Hotel might be decent. Hotel 10 de Julho seems to be a backpacker-option. There are several dozens of options. Some very high class and some very bottom-low-aimed-to-backpackers.

Judging by your demands I think Taj Mahal should be your best option. Close by you have Hotel Brasil which is cheaper. It's also on Av Getulio Vargas, in the next block after the restaurant with comida à quilo.

BTW, this restaurant is excellent and cheap. Don't miss trying their desserts. Specially the Torta alemã. Mmmmmm

The place I stay at is actually a motel (for short time sessions). They make a special deal for me and don't really appreciate gringos in general. It suits me perfectly but I will not even mention it here.

If you choose Taj Mahal you'll be in an excellent location.
    - 2 minutes walk to Teatro Amazonas.
    - 5 min walk to downtown.
    - 8 min to the port.
    - Lots of cafés/restaurants within 5 min.
    - 3 internetcafés within 3 min.
    - VERY important, less than 5 min to Remulos.
    - Buses to all parts of Manaus just outside the Hotel.

In Centro closer to the port you'll have many more options. The problem is that Centro at night is extremely deserted and a bit unsafe for first-timers in Manaus.

Hunting for regular girls. Actually there are some clubs in Centro that are quite OK, but all the major forró-clubs are quite far away from Centro. This is the only thing I dislike about Manaus (except for the heavy raining). There are buses that can take you to just about all the clubs, but when returning you can expect a R$ 30 taxi-ride.

As stated, I've RTFF and Googled. Not too much info available under a general Manaus hotel search, even though there may be many options.

Or, can you point me in the direction (maybe a Brasil hotel locator site) of finding those other centro lodging options?

My question relates to lodging. I've only seen the Taj Mahal Continental and Hotel 10 de Julho mentioned. Both seem to fit, I'm not sure which is the better option, still looking for any other options. I'm looking for the following:

    - Guest-friendly (no extra charges if double occpy booked)
    - 24 hour security on site
    - $30-50/nite range
    - Safe/secured area within walking distance to stuff (ATM/grocery store/restaurants)
    - Hot water
    - A/C
    - Decent bed
    - Daily cleaning staff

Shouldn't be much to ask for, but figured I'd put it to the board for help. Google doesn't really help. Thanks in advance.

It's good that we all have different tastes and liking. That's something to be respected.

Manaus is one of my absolute favourite cities in Brazil. Mainly because of the non-pro action. It's VERY easy to score.

Regarding the GP-scene there are lots fo options. My favourite is Remulos. I love Remulos! To me it's the perfect strip club. All of my buddies have felt the same way when they visited Remulos. Because of this I find it interesting to read about other forum members negative experiences of Remulos. They don't like it? That's perfectly fine with me.

Pelicano, you gave a nice report. I just want to make some comments about your Remulos report. Not as criticism. Just to avoid misunderstandings for others who might want to visit Remulos.

    * "400 guys": No way. On a crowded Friday there might be maximum 100-150 guys.
    * "20 or so house garotas": Double that.
    * "They were there mostly to incentivate the customers to drink more beer": I never experienced that.
    * "did not see any of them going upstairs with anyone": The locals go upstairs for a longer session or take a short session (R$ 15/during 2 songs). Short sessions rooms are located close to the entrance. You must have missed that.
    * "The strip show was a little disturbing": I can't see any disturbance with beautiful women dancing naked. They perform very well.
    * "There were from 50 to 80 other garotas, who I presume were there to work": Yes, you assumed right. All women at Remulos are there for working.
    * "very persistent guys, who scored after about 10 frustrated attempts": I think the term is buying sex. It doesn't need any attempts. You agree on a price and that's all.
    * "Most sessions seemed to last from 15-20 minutes as business was probably brisk and the locals could probably not afford to pay for more time": It they go upstairs they have like 40-90 minutes depending on the girl. Short time rooms are during 2 songs, about nine minutes.
    * "good looking GP´s are few in numbers":
    * "is bad for pros": Wrong.
    * "Give me Rio any day": I think Rio suites you better.

Sounds like you discovered the way to go in Manaus. Great report and probably a guide for anyones future trip there. Too bad I couldn´t make it to the forrós, since I knew they would probably be a +10 experience.

    Remulos

My week in Manaus did not go very well, first I picked up a non performer at the street near the docks, where the Nova Holanda bar is located. After the first couple of days there, I managed to contract a bad case of amazonian revenge and was out of action most of the week on antibiotics and re hidrating myself. The hotel room at www.hoteldezdejulho.com.br cost of 60 reais per day, had excellent split unit AC.

I made an extra effort to make it to Remulos on Friday night, the last weekend in the month, probably on a payday and not the best time of the month to go there. I was not prepared for what i was to see there, it reminded me of a honky tonk bar in the US. The layout is sort of like a large indoors garrage with a runway with 3 poles in the center, a small wooden and steel balcony near the entrance, a stairwell with an exit sign, where one goes up to the rooms, a bar off to each side. Tables are strewn about, without any sort of order or chairs to match, so you must arive early in order to find a seat, or just sit on one of the tables as many were doing.

There must have been about 400 guys in there mostly drinking beer and hooting and holering at the strippers, I even saw a few of them giving the stripers money as they did their show, I thought, I must be in the wrong country! There were about 20 or so house garotas, which could be easily identified by the fact theat they were not wearing much clothing and one was actualy stroling around stark naked. They were there mostly to incentivate the customers to drink more beer in between one show and the next and for the short time I was there, did not see any of them going upstairs with anyone, perhaps later in the evening they might have been available.

The strip show was a little disturbing, as they would parade up and down the runway as if they were a model and all of a sudden spread eagle and throw themselves at the stage with a large thud and the crowd loved it. One striped from her waist down yet still had a jacket with a hood covering her top half at the end of her set, probably she was a good girl? Another rather overweight one, tried to do the jaguar crawl, which looked more like the fat capivara waddle, the crowd also loved it. In all a very different experience for a 7 real entrance fee and 3 real skoll cans.

There were from 50 to 80 other garotas, who I presume were there to work and were rather well dressed by local standards. There was an enormous variation in looks, all the way from terribly ugly to many stunners among them, including many loiras. They stroled about saying Hi to friends and former customers, if they were approached, even by a potential customer, they did not flinch to turn them down. Those who were successful in taking one upstairs appeared to be former customers or very persistent guys, who scored after about 10 frustrated attempts. Most sessions seemed to last from 15-20 minutes as business was probably brisk and the locals could probably not afford to pay for more time. I did not enquire prices nor feel up to try and negotiate with any particular GP.

After a couple of hours of this, I decided to cut my losses and head back to the hotel, going straight to Av. Eduardo Ribeiro and turned right after the Theater, avoiding the side streets as much as possible as I had identified a few unsavory characters hanging out in these side streets. I supose this is the way it is in Manaus as the GP´s have a terrible advantage, since good looking GP´s are few in numbers, and paying customers even fewer. Maybe this is just one of those places where it is bad for pros and excellent for non pros. Give me Rio any day, but I will probably give it a go again someday and be much more carefull of what I eat or drink while there and concentrate on non pros instead.
