Manaus is much safer than Rio.
If you're planning to go Manaus-Belém by boat, bring a lot of books. It will definitely not be an exciting wild-life adventure.
In Manaus there are plenty of guys selling boat-tickets.

i have twice taken the transtur (http://transturperu.vilabol.uol.com.br/reservas2.htm) speedboat from iquitos (peru) to tabatinga / leticia (brasil/colombia) which took about 12 very boring hours. the normal boats with hammocks are a lot slower. there is nothing to see except the same trees over and over again and a lot of water.

It depends very much on yourself. At the forró-clubs the competition for the beautiful girls are hard.

It can be an advantage being a gringo I Manaus, but 50-plus propably means that you have to go for pro's or piranhas who occasionally f*cks gringos for money.

However there is still hope, I know at least two gringos (who are 50-plus) and they go regulary to Manaus and gets some non-pro's for free.

If you go to the forró clubs in Manaus you'll see a very annoying behaviour that is very typical for Manaus. When you visit the men's room you'll notice that 80% of the guys don't use the lavatorypan or the urinal. They do enter the men's room but [CodeWord140] on the walls, floor and in the sink even though there is plenty of space at the urinal. This behaviour really pisses me off.

- Most people in Manaus don't care about keeping themselfes in shape. It's very sad to see. They are lazy and likes to stuff their heads with faroffa and getting even fatter. Most girls over 25 years are built like elephants.

PRO SCENE *****************************************************

* REMULOS:
Lets start with the Remulos Strip Club. As I mentioned before Remulos have lost a lot in quality over the last years and keeps loosing even more, but it's still a very fun and relaxed strip club. I´ve been very busy in Manaus with the non-pro scene so I only visited Remulos on the slower days (Sunday-Wednesday). Twice I sessioned and twice I went there without finding anything interesting at all.

Rua Lobo D'Almada, 363. Two blocks from Teatro Amazonas.
Opens 18-19. Closes late.
The Remulos lanchonette on the outside have quite good food.
Entrance=R$10.
Girl=R$ 50/30 min
Note 1: The girls ask for R$50-70, but all of them accepts R$ 50/30 minutes. Just negotiate. Don't pay in advance.
Note 2: There are two kinds of girls at Remulos. The "house-girls"/dancers and the freelancers. In general the house-girls gives a better service.
Note 3: The service has become different. It used to always be BBBJ and often 2 pops in the limit of almost one hour. Now most girls only do CBJ and are stricter about the 30 minutes. If the chemistry is right the 30 minutes can turn into one hour.
Note 4: Remulos is loosing in quality of the girls. The quality of the girls is still decent, but much less stunners. It's tough for firm-tits-lovers as most of the girls have kids.
Note 5: During my four visits I only saw a handful of girls that I considered to session with. The quality could be better on a weekend.

Room=R$ 15 (big clean rooms with AC and jacuzzi). The rooms next to the reception are the nicest and biggest.

About 30 girls working, including freelancers.
Quality=about 15% doable, a few stunners.

* AQUARIUS/MISTURA: Next to Remulos. Reopened. I didn't go inside this year.

* DAMA DA NOITE: A Strip Club opposite Remulos. It opens around 3 PM and closes before midnight. The owner is the same as of Remulos. They have better rooms than Remulos.

* BLUE STAR: A Strip Club one block down from Remulos, on the other side of the street. It opens around 3 PM. A rough and ugly place. Not impressive, but it can be fun to check out in the afternoon.

* VIP ROOM: A club four doors below Remulos. I didn't enter.

* CENTRO CLUBS, VERY LOW END:
- Close to the port, next to the Banco do Brasil there are two side-treets with lots of bars and strip-clubs. Located behind the bus stop (look for the sign "Hotel Central"). Some of these places are for afternoon/evening action.
- On the first street you´ll find 4 strip clubs:
# Natureza: Small place.
# Mistura Fina: Big place. Tabledances.
# Big House: Big place.
# Aquarella´s Bar: Big place. Tabledances.
None of them charges a entrance fee.
- On the second street you´ll find ho-bars.
# Bar Anaconda
# Bar Holanda
# Bar do Junior
# Diplomata Drinks Bar
# Novo Mania
Note: All of these places are very sleazy and very lowend. The girls looks just awful. Propably many drugaddicted GP's.
It's fun to check out and have a beer but don't expect to find any doable girls.

* STREETWALKERS:
In Centro you'll find streetwalkers on the two streets mentioned above and a couple close to the Cathedral. All ugly.
If there is a cruiser in Manaus there are usually some free-lancers in the port building. Can be worth checking out.
There are lots of avenidas spread out all over Manaus that have streetwalkers. Not recommended. It requires a car and be extremely careful of what you pick up.

NONPRO SCENE *****************************************************

* Manaus is still one of the best cities in Brazil for non-pro action. Excellent nightlife, and very easy to meet non-pro's.

Note 1: The club list is far from complete. Several new places have opened which I didn´t bother to visit and they are not on the list. It´s always good to get a current update from a taxidriver on the forró-situation.
Note 2: Not all the places mentioned are clubs.
Note 3: Some of the clubs are good and some are bad. Most are forró-clubs. Some are a bit classy and others are vagabundo-style. Find out for yourself.

* Notes on the clubs above:
- Entrances about R$10-20. Beer >R$3.
- Many of them are either located in Tarumã or Cidade Nova.
- If you want to save some money you can take a bus going to the club.
Cidade Nova: bus 300 or 640, Ponta Negra: bus 120
- Taxi: depends on the location. Don't go by the taxi-meter, or it will be very expensive. Negotiate hard.
E.g Cidade Nova to Centro should cost R$20-25. Tarumã is more expensive.

NOTES ON THE MANAUS GIRLS *****************************************************

- There are very many ugly girls in Manaus. Chubby, fat and ugly girls of a strange mixture. Go for the small percentage (about 10%) of beautiful girls. You can find some 10-points stunners in Manaus.
- Most people in Manaus don't care about keeping themselfes in shape. It's very sad to see. They are lazy and likes to stuff their heads with faroffa and getting even fatter. Most girls over 25 years are built like elephants.
- If you bring a girl back home from a club, be very sure to check her ID before.
- The best girls in Manaus, the beautiful ones with class don't hang out in the forró clubs. Search for them elsewhere.
- Be prepared that the Manaus girls are the worst in Brazil when it comes to arriving in time for dates.
- Also be prepared to meet many really dumb people in Manaus. You'll understand what I mean when you get here.

Spent a few days in Manaus back in September, did 24 year old at Remulos but I did not like the scene at the club not my style. The club is a bit trashy for my taste but the rooms upstairs were clean and big. Went to club Kiss this is more my taste an upscale place with a higher end product. The club has pool table, strip shows, and room upstairs though I went to a nearby hotel I could have took her back to my hotel but I had a roommate. The club has alot of beautiful women from all over Brazil. Cost for 3 hours 200 brazil dollars. The apartment scene in Manus is a hard nut to crack I was planning to spend alot more time in Manaus before coming to Fortaleza but could not find decent accomadations for a month or so without paying ridiculous hotel prices.

obviously, nightime is a different story there, but my girl wants me with her at night. i have met regular girls at dances and met sweethearts (albeit true pros) in remulus and near the teatro in the street. and regular girls are easy to score with when your regular squeeze isn't peeking over your shoulder.

i have looked at the classifieds, but there are no photos and this is always hit or miss. any and all suggestions are welcome.

by the way, i was in remulus a few months ago, and the quality of the women that were there was fine. the real problem is that there are so many men, most of whom are not interested in actually paying to have sex with the girls. the ratio can literally be 20:1 at times. so many of the guys are into lap dances and this tabe thing they do where the guys give the girls money to dance while they rub their bundas and occasionally kiss their cus. these guys have no money to pay for sex, and they just make the dynamic less than satisfactory for me.

A good apartment at a reasonable price in Manaus might be hard to find. That's one of the few informations I won't share on the forum. Specially not if it's a member since 2004, who has shared no information at all, who are asking.

Back in Manaus last week, Sperto is right, Remulus has really, really changed, and not for the better. Came in on a Sunday night, around 9 PM. I know, I know, day and time wasnt perfect, but have done it in the past with good success. About a 20 to 1 guy-girl ratio, and really only a couple of doables ones there at that time. The quality of girls has sunked. I was very disaapointed and left after 45 minutes. Had a smoke outside while weighing my options and several girls started arriving. But not the same quality as it used to be, except for one very nice round little ass in a pair of tight jeans.

In the Aquarium next door, some of the girls were standing outside, one looked very nice from a distance so I walked up there. A beautiful girl, a true stunner somewhere in the 17-19 range, so a no-go for me, not taking any chances on kiddie stuff.

It did inspire me, though, and I went back into Remulus and found the nice ass in jeans. Bia was her name. 28 yrs old, morena. Face looks 28, but she has a killer body and knows how to use it. 50R for BBBJ and covered FS, excellent fun. Very athletic.
