I enjoyed my nature tour. I was the only client for that guide. Although his english language skill was limited, he gave me a good service. I had the opportunity to enjoy a small town in the State of Amazonas. I was told that fishing is excellent in that area. I did not have the time to go for fishing. I am almost sure, I'll go back to Manaus for a fishing trip may be next year or year after.

I was in Manaus two weeks ago. Mongering was not my primary objective. I went there to go to an Amazon jungle trip. I spent two nights in a small town abot 80 miles away from Manaus. Mostly nature tour, no mogering.

I arrived in Manaus on a Sunday late afternoon. I had a reservation in Plaza Hotel. It is located in centro. The resevation was made by the tour company. The hotel was a dump! I did not stay there. I stayed in Holday Inn Taj Mahal executive suite. Quite pricey. R$170 per nite including taxes. Centro was dead on Sunday evening. Since I was going to be spending only one more night (Wednesday ) in Manaus, I thought I'll try to get some action on Sunday Night. I casually asked the bellboy about the girls. He jumped on the opportunity. He said he can bring in a girl for me for R$100 for one hour. I don't have to pay any extra to the hotel. After some bargaining, R$80 for two hours was agreed on. She showed up in my room at about 9:30pm about half an hour later than he said. The girl cannot be any more than 18 years old. Not very good looking. She had a predominantly Indian features. We did our business. After one hour she wanted to go and I let her after the second shot. Paid R$90. I did not enjoy the encounter that much. She was not into it. She just wanted to finish the job and take the money.

On Wednesday night I hired a taxi driver to take me the strip club close to the opera house. I forgot the name of the strip club. It was packed with local guys. Girls are not that high quality. Lap dances are 10 or 15 R$. I did not try it. After about an hour I went to 'Kiss'. There would be 10- 15 girls there. Quality was lot better than the strip club. I wanted to bring a girl for overnight. The bar fine was R$30 for taking out the girls. I picked a girl and agreed on R$120. She will leave my hotel room at 10am next morning. She was a morena. I would not say that she was the best looking girl there. But her attitude was different. BTW, the hotel charged me R$50 for the girl.

I had a wonderful time with that girl. I had a real girl friend sex following morning. That sex was the best one in my entire Brazil trip. I did some mongering in Rio and Sao Paulo too.

I found that, hotels are fairly expansive in Manaus. If you are going there only for mongering, think again. The taxi driver told me that, it is very hard to find a natural blonde in Manaus.

I had spent a few days in Manaus for a mini vacation back in May. The visit was intended to see the nature and any mongering opportunities were gravy.

Your assessment and experience were about same as mine but I did not care much one way or the other because of "the goal of the trip". But I had great time for primary and secondary trip objectives.

As I had posted on this board back in May/June, hiring a local taxi for a few days had help us (me and my buddy - Brazilian) who knows the city and the places to go, considering the city's geography has no logic from the perspectives of a man who grew up in a big city.

If I only wanted to monger, Manaus would not even on my radar screen.

Yes, I went to the Forro Club (Club do Forro) on the its prime night (I can't remember which night that was, but Max Gilerg's report a few pages back lists it).

Got there at about 11 p.m. -- the place is a large, open-air enclosure off of one side of what looks to be a county club. It was volcanically hot that night, and the place was packed. PACKED.

Most party-goers were Brasilian teenagers -- not ostensibly there to hook up with middle-30s gringos. Anyway, no one really paid any attention to me.

Too hot to handle.

first your questions Spidy, Fellice is nothing more than a small bar, that all, a choperia! Do you still have your map of Manaus? Flutante da Tia is northwest of the airport in a nature reserve, look for cachoeiras on your map.

I think a major reason for the poor P4P action in Manaus is due to the Free Trade Zone(FTZ). Big multinationals manufacturer goods there for the rest of Brasil and South America, just look at any CD you bought in Brasil, on the back it will say Fabrico na Zona Franca de Manaus. With full employment, girls don't need to work the scene unlike the unemployed masses of Rio or SP.This also accounts for the high prices, especially taxis which are ridiculous. The hotels in Centro also cater for business visitors to the FTZ, not tourists.

Jwadd, its funny, I was beginning to wonder if my dick stank, but the girls there don't like BBBJ!! I think partly its due to the high turnover of clients in Remulos for instance. You must admit, those locals in there treat the girls really rough at times and I think they become hardened very quickly. I also found the majority didn't want to kiss on the mouth either.

A lot of the guys in Remulos are stapped for cash, I think thats how the so called "Sala VIP" functions. Only 25R$ for two songs(6-7mins), I also haven't tried it!! This place is more Vila Mimosa than Copacabana, but its a sureal sight you'll never forget.

And finally, Spidy, Forro is the dance of choice in Manaus. For those not familar with it, its music that sounds 100 years out of date, a typical Forro club in Rio would be Asa-Blanca in Lapa.

In some ways possibly due to its geographical isolation, Manaus has different cultural values than say RJ,SP or the North East..

I here good things of Natal though, maybe I need to pencil it in for my next trip.

You definitely need to be willing to explore somewhat to find what your looking for. It is not obvious like Rio. Sorry to hear you didn't find a cheaper hotel. Also renting a car might be one way to go.

Doesn't sound like you had a chance to check out the malls, Forro club dance non-pro/semi-pro scene? Or Fellice?

All in all a good update and a few new places for me to check-out next time in town (DEC).

Yah, "Manaus" does seem to have a little attitude. Oh well.

I was in Manus for about a week a few weeks ago and have been putting off writing a report. I had spent the previous 5 weeks in Brasil -- all over -- and found Manus difficult to enjoy.

I arrived about 11 p.m. on a Weds. night and the town (Centro) was a virtual cemetary. Absolutely nothing open. Even the bars were more or less closed. Huh.

Hotels are about double the price as they are in the rest of Brasil -- and about half as good. Really. Taxis are also about half as much more.

Also, no international telephone cabins, either. Had to go to the Telemar office and use phone cards.

Anyway, all this aside, let's get to the sex scene.

I tried about every place mentioned on this site and had average-to-bad results.

There's not much in or around Centro that I could find. I talked to a lot of people, and wound up (when in Centro) spending my time cruising around the Teatro Amazonas (TA) for SWs, going the the strip club directly behind the TA, and Remelo's strip club.

The Teatro Amazonas SW scene is mostly trannys. There were a few lower-end female SWs there, but no one that the discriminating sportsman would deign to poke.

Expect to be offered 50R as an intro-price, and being able to talk them down to 10-20R with persistence.

O.k., so standing with the main entrance to the TA right in front of you, the first strip club is directly behind it on the far street (behind the TA), and Remelos is about 3-4 blocks to your left, more or less on the corner. You'll see it from the main street.

The TA strip club is lame. It was hardly ever open (and erratically at that), and most of the girls who were working there on the one night that I found it open, wound up showing up at Remelo's later that night. I have no idea about beds, bar-fines, here.

Remelo's, on the other hand, is a big, dirty, Tiajuna-style strip-club/pool hall. It's open 7 days a week, with lap-dancing available for 10R, sex for 60R, with on-site beds for 10R. It's a good bargain.

Problem is, not many of the girls are that good looking. The second problem is that almost none of them would give BBBJ. I mean like one girl out of the 20 I talked to would do it. WTF?

Close to Centro is Kiss (like 3-6 min. by cab). It's a strip club (closed Sun.). I went there on a Sat. night and found about 15 average to slightly above average girls. The place is nicer than Remelo's. 80-100R will get you sex. There are beds on-site, or you can exit for a a small bar-fine.

Kild's might be the best bet in town if you can afford the 40R taxi fee both ways. IT'S WAY THE FUCK OUT THERE!!

Kild's is a Japanese-style (kinda) cabana/hot-tub/pool brothel sort of on the way to Ponta Negra. I went there on a Sat. night and found about 15 average to very cute girls. I think it was 40R for the entrance (which includes a 15 min. massage), sex was 150R, plus a little more for the room.

Drinks are expensive, and as your cabby will probably have to wait for you, the night here might turn out to be costly. Still, they had the cutest girls in town that I could find.

Same night I also tried Laranje in Ponta Negra. It's the orange joint on the main strip -- about 25R cab ride from Centro if you haggle.

This is a semi-pro scene, with girls hanging out drinking and listening to music or watching the show if there's one going on.

On a Sat. night, there were about 30 average-to-cute girls there, mixed in with tourists and normal Brasilians. The abnormal Brasilians (the garotas) all seemed to want 100-150R for sex -- again, most having a problem with BBBJ. Again, WTF?

That's about all I found (or bothered to look for). I was surprised at how sub-par this place was for Brasil. I know how land-locked it is, and can imagine that the price-increase in normal services is due to transport-costs, but all of this aside, I was disappointed.

One last thing -- try Praca Militar for a little lowish-end SW action. There seemed to be a few girls there at any given time.

OK, you've been there as well so you know what I'm talking about. This guy describes a bar on a boat near Ponta Negra, then gives very ambiguous directions up past the airport. This isn't near Ponta Negra, its a 42R$+ taxi ride from Ponta Negra! Thats a 84R$ round trip for some tout to pocket.

It turns out that 'Flutuante da Tia' is a fish restaurant in the jungle next to the river! What a disappointment! In their ad they state 'the difficulty of access is compensated for by the view of the river'. You can call them on 9994 6708, notice its a cell line, they are so remote for anything else.

To suggest that you can pick up women in ANY bar,restaurant or street is ludicrous. Any guy going there is in for major disappointment if he believes this!

I actually doubt this guy is American like he states, his basic use of English suggests otherwise.

I also thought spamming/touting for business was not allowed on this board.

Cutting Edge, maybe you are correct in your assumptions about "yet another broke ass gringo looking for a way to pay his way in Brasil...". Unless you know someones character for certain, simply let each man determine and come to their own conclusions.

The beauty of having freedom of throught and having a modicum of intelligence is that you get to formulate your own decisions.

Granted alot of what said on WSG maybe bullshit, however most people with a degree of intelligence can read between the lines and determine for themselves what we believe to be true, or at the very least have some degree of truth.

I for one, take everything "with a grain of salt". I have a curious and adventurous nature, so naturally I have a "see/try for myself" attitude, when it comes to most things.

I value all information here at WSG and have learnt to find the value in many of what guys say at WSG. But realize from different points of view, it doesn't always translate to the same thing for everyone.

Manaus is a real fun city. There is an excellent nightlife, specially on weekends. When looking for working-girls there are plenty of options. Avoid the streetworking girls in the center.

There are several quite fancy stripclubs, Kilds etc. Prices are not low. But in my opinion the absolut best choice and only place you need is Remulus, right in the center of Manaus. It's absolutely wild and crazy! A little bit rough place with mainly brazilians. Cheap beers and loads of women. Lots of really goodlooking girls and a bunch of ugly ones as well. Non-stop striptease. Free to touch but you may get slapped if you stick your finger in. Good fun watching the tabledances, for 10 reais. Just go ahead and try some licking etc.

To go upstairs to a room (clean and nice) for some fun may cost from 40 reais for 40 minutes, including the room, depending on your portuguese and on the girl. Normally they ask for 60 reais.

The alternative (not tried) cost 15 reais. Then you enter a small dirty room for a super-quick-time. You can be with the girl during the time they play 2 songs. then they open up the door.

You can also choose to bring the girl to your hotel.

The place is one of my favorites in Brazil.

As a gringo it could be a good advice to keep a bit low profile in Remulus not showing of a lot of money.

Fellice, Tropical are high class joints disco/bars of upper class Brasilians with imported european sports cars parked outside. Why would a girl want to go with some old fat tourist who speaks no Portuguese when her boyfriend drives a BMW? Its strange that you have only been told that the *****s are cheap! Haven't you actually found any there yourself? If you are so in with the info, how come you can't even spell the name correctly?

FYI, Manaus is more expensive than Rio, ie a Big Mac is 30% more there(The Economist uses it as a yardstick). The trade free zone ensures that there is near full employment, girls just don't need to ***** there. There are no termas, virtually nobody speaks English.

And all that ""you can get any girl on any street"" crap doesn't wash anymore. I rememeber a few years back when some guy reckoned that every girl in Rio Sul Shopping was available for 50USD. More BS from some guy trying to sell something!

What gets me is that creeps like you are prepared to send guys on a 10,000 mile wild goose chase just so you can make a few $$$. I hear the Policia Federal take a very dim view of gringos setting up illegal prostitution rackets!

The flutuante da Tia is located near Ponta Negra. It is along the same road as the churascaria Touro Loco and the motel Aphrodites. You stay along this road, going past the airport runway. Up at the top of a sorta hill, on your left, you will see a hut like restaurant. It is next to one of the u-turn or turning areas. You take this road until the fork, and then bear right. go to the end, and turn right, and at the end of the next road, turn left.

Fellites is located in the Studio 5 festival mall. ANy taxi and almost every person can tell you how to get there.

I should start a tour company since people have been wanting info.

Hey Manaus, I like your insight into mongering in Manaus. Personally, Manaus really grow on me and I soon found this city to be a "rough jewel in the jungle".

Can you tell me where to find Felitice and Flutuante da Tia (the floating bar)? These places sounds wild man!

Also what are the best malls for picking up garotas?
