With your interrest for blond's/blue eyes I would recommend Grutta Azul if you go for POA. In SAO I would recommend either Bahamas or Cafe Photo. They are all three high end places, better than the Sao's Rua Augusta area (for blond's).

The reason I was interested in POA in the first place is because of the "best looking girls" reputation. I am not looking for a big scene, just quality girls. And I hear that most POA girls are blue eyed blondes, the type I prefer. Also, I am hoping to find girls that are not jaded by the tourist scene. Based on this, do you still recommend that I pass up POA and head for Sampa? (Rio I will be visiting regardless).

Porto Alegre is my hometown, although I live overseas now. POA (as it's known) has a small scene, not really worth a trip all the way from Rio. On the one hand, the city has a reputation as having some of Brazil's most beautiful girls, because of all the European influences along with the usual Brazilian mix. On the other hand, most of the best girls head straight for Sampa or Rio. If you are lucky, you can find an up-and-comer (so to speak) before she heads north and doubnles her price. But you may as well just stay in Rio and pay the difference out of the plane ticket money that you are saving...

A quick survey of the scene.... Some saunas, but Sampa's are better. A huge SW scene right behind the rodovaria (on Voluntarios da Patria - "Volunta"), but pretty grim 3-4's who take you up to flea-bag fuck-houses. A pretty active outcall/garota de programma scene, but again..Sampa. Also a few nice strip clubs were you can basically fuck whatever you see on stage (Gruta Azul, Vermelho e Preto, 21),but again, Sampa has better on Rua Agusta. If I can be nostalgic for a second, POA back in the day had an internationally famous *****house - Monica's. Unfortunately, the day was 20 years ago!

I hate to knock my hometown, but for *****mongering, you are better off staying in Rio or going to Sao Paulo.
