what is your opinion on the non-pros in recife? are they easy to pick up? are they jaded like rio because of all the germans and italians??

recife seemed kind of dead when i went...with very few people on the beach. sampa was pretty bad, maybe 1 or 2 girls worth anything.

the street scene was bad, lots of **** girls or drug addict looking girls.

casa da odete was bad to, maybe maximum 5-10 girls there when i went.

but recife looked cheap, and lots of good looking girls at the mall.

I had only one hour off in Recife, so I went to the beach to do some chica watching. Not sure where I was, but there were many girls around. Mostly Mulatas of course. Did not see anything above a 7+ though. So I passed.

One Mulata, perhaps a seven, an eight if I was drunk. offered me a suck and fuck for one hour for 30.00 USD, but I declined.

All in all, from what I saw, was not to impressed with the beach option. IMHO

i'll pass as much info as i can. also, post your email addr if you want to get super-detailed on anything.

i was in recife in aug.

i never hit a terma, and i never heard anyting good of them, infact never heard anything of them.

best bet for daytime action is lining up day action during the nights. girls you meet at the pro-bars will very gladly supply their numbers for dates/action the next or following days. likewise, if you chase higher class girls (non-pros) maybe met in non-pro clubs, one may line up dates (if not action, which i have to say is unlikely in a first date) for daytime.

past posts here are accurate in describing the beach scene, which is your next best bet for day action.

last, although you'll likely not get action out of it, the recife mall is great for flirting, meeting girls to get a number which leads to a date/action, or just a place to go in the day.

note, both non-pro bars/clubs and the mall require some good portuguese skills. the beach scene and the pro-bars do not.

last, the list, and especially my report of aug, are very accurate for identifying the best pro- and non-pro bars/clubs/nightspots.

first, beware, my info is out of date since i haven't been in recife in 10 years. however, from what i hear, things haven't changed much.

don't go to "termas" in recife - they are only for gays/tv's and the like. as i've written elsewhere, different cities have different names for termas (sauna, clinica, etc), but in this case, recife has none, only has gay "bathouses." i hear that, the *****house scene in recife has gone to hell (there used to be some good ones in guararapes), so that's out too for daytime fun. all other boites, clubes, discos, etc are strictly nightime.. and late, like rio. when i was in recife, i used to have dinner! at 1am every day, just to give you an idea of late.

which leaves... the beach. which ain't bad at all, if you think that copacabana beach is hopping, then wait till you see boa viagem. (my girlfriend in recife would send her sisters to the beach with me to "stand guard" while she was working (varig, before you get any funny ideas)). pretty much any girl who catches your eye (i.e. is "making eyes at you", staring at you), is fair game. usually, no portuguese required, just mentioning taxi and hotel should be enough. beware of your hotel's visitor policy though, i hear that things have tightened up over the past 10 years. likewise, non-pro girls are very approachable.. "oi tudo bem..." etc. of course, you need portuguese. (again, a side note, *i* was picked up once by a 30-ish gal who owned a jewelery shop along the beach.. she was sunning herself during her lunch break, then next thing i know, we're going at it in her back-room workshop. )

ok, enough digressions! the only downside to recife is that it is full of german tourists (being 1/2 german, i can criticize freely). of course the good side of the german invasion (every cloud has it's lining), is that where you see a lot of german men, the gp's are right behind, buzzing around them. if you walk along the beachfront sidewalk, you'll see several spots with tons of krauts hanging out and lots of brazilian girls. sit down, elbow helmut out of the way, get a beer or caipirinha, and do what comes naturally. in front of recife othon placa is famous. anywhere from bamboo disco to a little beyond the othon (i.e working your way north, towards penha beach - which is dead - and the port) works as well, including just strolling along the beach and smiling at any pretty girl you see sunbathing or sitting yourself down (with a beer...) and waiting to see what comes along.

HOTEL CANARIUS
Please note that from September 2002, due to a modification in the hotel management policy, to bring ladies in hotel is not more allowed even if lady has valid ID documents .

I suggest to check before booking you my call hotel number 81-34651532 (+55 if you are calling from outside Brazil).

The other hotels in Recife ususaly allow tu introduce girls but some charge an extra and some other one allowes but only night time. I suggest clearify this point at booking or chek-in.

Hotel Gianadeiro accept girl introduction at any time and without extra cost and is a nice bilding located just in front at Boa Viagem beach, double room cost is about 90 Reals per day (Sept. 02).

i love brasil!!

here's some details, us$=r$3.1, ratings are imho of course (i'm quite picky, and i live/party in south beach):

sampa-
visited here at least 3 times. small cover, maybe r$10. girls are 5-8s. all girls we talked to started at r$150 for various times, 2hrs or all night. i suspect all would stay the night, unless you take one out very early and she has a mind to go back for another shot - which i did see happen the one night we stayed for a long time with our girls. i talked one down to r$125. the lesser looking ones might go for less, if you talk them down i suspect. exit fee of r$15 for taking a girl home. a call vodka is about r$15-10, a red bull maybe r$8, a beer about r$8, if i remember correctly. optimal arrival for me is between 11-midnight, say 11:30. get there after say 12:15 and you won't have your choice of location. after 1a some good girls are already taken.

bamboo-
visited here many times. no cover, no exit fee. girls are 4-7s. maybe an 8 there. girls are not quite as clean as sampa, and more likely to not have had dental work. r$100 seems to be asking price, though i suspect the lesser looking ones get less. limited quality liquor choices, but drink prices are very inexpensive. 10 oz draft beer is r$1!! 20 oz german bottle is maybe r$7. get there about midnight. after say 1:30-2a the best ones are taken, but not always, some arrive late.

i found it very fun flirting with these girls. but it's a serious drop in quality, say the best might be a 6. of course, very cheap, r$50-75 at most. but these girls are not too clean, and likely haven't improved their dental status.

beach, in front of recife palace and from there in both directions-
gotta love brasil. all a gringo has to do is sit/stand around and the girls start trying to make eye contact. pick one out, if she smiles back she's yours. worst case scenario is you get a phone number or you have to work through a couple of dates (ie she's not into taking money), otherwise you can likely get her back to your apt, whether she's a girl from the scene or a girl trying to make some money on the spot.

or something close to that. it's well south of boa viagem, on the other end of piadade. i think the girls wanted maybe r$200 for 2 hrs? my friend took one, and she did leave after about 1.5 hrs, he worked her ;-) anyway, a local friend of mine brought her to lunch a couple of days later, and what i thought was just a lunch date (he kept telling me we won't have to pay them) was followed by 2 hrs in the sack. i paid her r$50, though she never asked me for money, she did ask my friend for money from me... i didn't see many good girls in this cuba club, but i only saw like say 6 girls. 4--6 or -7 with a 7-for-sure i guess.

i stopped by one other place, but i don't remember the name. it was towards the airport, but not the place many of the locals all say to go to, which is right by the airport. this was an outdoor place in what looked like a bad neighborhood but was probably just a typical neighborhood. it was surronded by walls, of course. it looked like there were some good girls, 5-7s, i saw an 8, but we got there late. my local friend said it opens at 5p, and we wanted to hit it at like 8p, but never made it. they did want a cover, don't remember how much.

we also spent many times at the bars and clubs, chasing the other crowd. fasion club, teatro, bar do bode, some foho/pagode outdoor dance thing that happens only on sunday (but it's a huge gig) about 20-30 minutes into the city away from boa viagem (i thought this was a good gig - tons of girls of the other type).

food-
the best restaurant is boi preto (black bowl). about r$30 for the best meats and buffet in town! there are many good self-service (buffet) spots in town, for very cheap and excellent food. a great one is only about 3 blks from bamboo, it's called chica pitanga. you'll struggle to spend more than r$15, and for say r$10 you get a great plate full of your choice (choose what you want from say 3 meats, 2 chicken, 3 seafood, 2 fish, many veggies, maybe an ox or goat or rabbit, and killer deserts). for a nice regional food (if you want that) self-service, go to parraxaxa. about same price as chica pitanga, but i liked c.p. better. we had a killer meal at some restaurant right on the beach (over looking a paved bball court that the kids were playing soccer on) in piadade. the parking lot was across the street from the place, and the taxi drivers stayed in the place while you ate and then gave you a ride home. i mean, tell this description to a taxi and it'll be enough to get you there, without the name of the joint. the fish with shrimp sauce (whole fish stuffed with shrimps) was maybe the best thing i ate the whole time, maybe r$12.

hotels-
we stayed in the suite at the recife monte for a week. then i moved to canarious, about 1 blk away, for 3 nights after my friend left. the monte was totally girl-friendly, but made them register (where in recife doesn't require registration?). canarious, hmm, did they require registration? i don't remember. but they were certainly allowed the girls up there. we checked out some other hotels, and they were not girl-friendly. this included the tall hotel acorss the street to the north (not the dive to the south) from the old church (church is at praca do boa viagem, or at rua novegantes & rua barao de sousa leao). i've heard the palace is not girl-friendly.

i went to porto de galinhas also. a good place for a real resort scene. no real girl scene though, so bring one from recife. nice usable beach, sailing, snorkelling, surfing (maracaipe beach about 2 mi south). good inexpensive gifts for the girls can be found where the main street hits the beach, or in the little "mall" of 6 stores about 2 blks from beach on this street on the north side. things like cool stone necklaces r$10 or bracelets $r3 or nice little earring stuff r$1-3 the girls all love.

the ocean at boa viagem is not usable. first, it's always very windy, so don't be thinking carribean-type ocean. also, in 1993 or so they build a new jetty out of the port, which changed the way the run off and polution moved into the sea, which killed many microscopic sea life, which caused small fish to move, which caused the big fish to move. thus, all the tiger sharks now congregate at boa viagem. it is not safe to swim, let alone surf. people die in the sea there every year. it was not like this before they modified the port or what ever they did.

good laundry / dry cleaner across from the old church (to the south). second day return, low prices (half my suitcase for maybe r$30).

internet cafe down the alley across from the old church is cheap - r$3 for 1 hr!

pharmacies don't require perscriptions! (except for narcatics like valium, etc). so plan to load up, if that's your gig. viagra (make sure you get the 50g doses, the 25g doses don't save you 50% money) is like 4 for r$70.

we also met many girls (amateur) at the recife shopping mall.

Please tell me more about your trip - names of the places and type of action there, expected costs for women/beverages/food, etc.

Also, I/we plan to go for a few days to Porto De Galinhas. Anyone been there? How's the action if we don't bring with us women met earlier in Recife? I've read that PdG is a good to catch Recife middle class women on the weekend - true? or better to be in Recife on the weekend?

In addition with Jwadd report i could recommend the food court of the main shopping center of Boa Viagem (close from airport), crowded with many regulars but semi-pros too, it's a good place to hunt on end afternoon/early evenings.
Agree that "Sampa" disco is a good place to party, some girl's level is quite high (even if the sophistication of SP chicks has not yet arrived in Recife !) and many are really friendly, anyway much more than in Help ! Drinks and food are cheap, it doesn't cost too much to be nice with the girls, with maybe a immediat reward (discounted price..).
I saw many of the Sampa chicks going suntaning on the portion of beach front of the hotel 'Luksim Palace' on Boa Viagem...
The Luksim is not guest friendly and i moved from there to the Canarius Hotel (rua dos Navigantes-Boa Viagem-phone (81)34651532) a three star with a little pool where there was no problems to bring girls back at night.

(This post is about 8 months old -- it's fairly complete and should serve as a good guide to this great city for sex.)

RECIFE:

Recife has a layered, compact scene. The main location for sex activites is near the southern terminal of Boa Viagem -- the main beachfront road. Orient yourself, though, about 2 blocks back from Boa Viagem, as the street itself is fairly dead.

Here, at the terminal, are most of the cities famous sex-bars: "Chakatak," "Bamboo," "Eclipse" and "Brazil Eden Club." The intersection for these four clubs -- all basically caddy-corner to each other -- is Souza Leao and Setubal.

At the time of this posting Eclipse and Brazil Eden Club had been closed for 6 months.

Chakatak is the cheapest club in this area. Entrance is free and drinks are cheap. Most of the girls are a little homely -- but the place is friendly and a good place to hang out. Most of the women asked somewhere between 50 and 100 reals. There are no rooms here. Must go to a sex-motel (or take them back to your own).

Bamboo, around the corner, is a little better. On any night there are about 50 girls here -- still mostly homely, but some tending to the higher range of the index. Most of the girls charge closer to the 100 reals end of the spectrum. Like Chakatak, there's no sex on-site.

Incidentally, there's a row of dirty, cheap restaurant-bars between these two venues. Almost all the girls you see hanging out here are available, and will probably show up at one of these two clubs sometime that night.

The most famous place in Recife is "Sampa Disco" -- about 5-7 blocks south on the large street inland from Boa Viagem. Many cute girls. Many hustlers. The two I were with both rushed the sex, and the second rather insolently insisted that it is "normal" to use two condoms. Big time attitude.

There are two termases in town: "Termos Club Mar" and "Termos New Club Scandinavia." I didn't go to either. The first is on Sampa street a few more blocks up.

Maybe the best scene, I hate to say, is the street scene. On any given night that first large inland street is teeming with fine young (all 18+) girls. And I mean fine. I know many of you avoid street walkers. Buuut....

Prices for these girls were all around the 50 reals range. Talk to them, flag a cab, and take them to the numerous sex-motels close by. Try "Del Rey" if for some strange reason neither she nor the taxi driver have any ideas.

There's some dire action in centro, in an area called "Recife Antigua." But it's almost medievally bad and should be avoided. The area is pretty rough, too.

Finally, the beach promenade isn't as safe as it looks. A group of guys tried to mug me there late-night. Take care.

P.S. The street I keep mentioning but never name (two in from beachfront Boa Viagem) is "Conselheiro Aguias" -- or something like that (I can't read my own handwriting!).

The girls at Sampa typically started price quoting around the 200 reals mark -- but were the most flexible I've seen in Brazil in terms of negoitiation. I got them both down to 100. They all ask for cab fare when your done.

Also, some of the Sampa girls seem to like to be paid first -- which could mean bad service. Sampa girls bunch up with friends -- so if you have a bad experience with one girl, chances are that all of her friends will give you similar grief.
