I was last in Recife in 10 years ago, so I have no new info for you. However, I disagree with Sperto. There are / were many interesting areas of the city and interesting things to do. Recife is a fairly large city with distinct areas (like boroughs of New York City) such as Boa Viagem, Boa Vista, and Cidade Velha (Old City). Boa Viagem is the toursit area with the beaches. Boa Vista is a commercial area with lots of stores and businesses. The Old City is where more tourist attractions are such as museums, restaurants, and a few (non-sexual) dance / entertainment clubs.

There are many VERY attractive women in Recife. Some work as prostitutes and 'advertise' (or rather display) themselves on the beach in Boa Vista. You can judge for yourself!

I visited Recife last August. Flew London-Lisbon-Recife route. Whilst I was changing flights at Lisbon I got chatting to a beautiful Brazilian woman who 'works' in Lisbon. Thursday January 17.

Arrived at Sampa at about 11:30pm. I would say that there were about 50 people inside, about half of them male and half of them female. I stayed until almost 1:30am, but did not see any GPs that were my type.
