2003 Rio de Janeiro Reports

Hi folks!

I am looking for detailled travel reports about 80 year old Vila Mimosa. Of course I already checked the Rio section of the WSG here but couldn't find too much interesting info, except where it is (on Rua Sotero dos Reis, near Praça da Bandeira in Zona Norte of Rio) and that its a 24/7 place (more or less). I know that it's Rio's largest prostitution place with around 70 houses (about 10 rooms each) that are assembled to look like a run down shopping center. Up to 2000 men visit that place every day I know and that several hundred girls are working there I've learned. A room there costs 5 Rs and a girl not (too) much more (20 Rs for 20 min.). Unfortunately, their website isn't working anymore. Soooo.... BEYOND the info above, what are your experiences (girls, safety and so on)?

Ok, what the hell are some of you guys thinking????

I was just told that there is an American man here in Rio, (most of you know him) that is talking some of you into buying apartments here in Rio as rentals. That much I can understand and actually encourage.

This guy is graciously offering to manage the apartments for you and he’s taking 50% of all the rental fees he collects….. I can’t understand why, when others are only asking 25-30%. The contract he is getting some of you to sign ….. (Now this is the part that floored me), after 10 years the ownership of the apartment actually reverts to HIM…

What the hell are some of you thinking!!!!!!!! If you are interested in buying an apartment in Rio and renting it out you CAN MAKE A BETTER DEAL WITH JUST ABOUT ANYONE......

On my last trip to Rio on my last night I went to Help and wanted to find something special. I spotted a nice blond all dressed up with a dress on nice legs and big voluptious lips. She finds me as I am making my way back into Help and she has a fit right in front of Help and now we are both screaming at each other in front of Help I told her to get lost that she has a problem and I don't want any part of her. She says to me that she will stop and lets go to my hotel. I told her forget it but by now she signals for 2 guys behind me to help her out. I turn around to watch them and they tell her that they won't help. Well to make a long story short I give her money to get back into Help but she stays outside.

I go back into Help and run into the girl with the I love NY T shirt on. I tell her I love NY too and she responds in perfect english. Sine this was my 10th night in Help and I had never seen her before I asked her if she came here often. Her answer was no I am a virgin. Well we left again to go to my hotel. She has a car parked in the garage of the disco, we get in the car and I notice a case in the back seat. She tells me this is her dancing costume, that she does Samba shows for tourists and she is a ballerina. I told her to take the case up to my room and give me a show.

RIO – Day 2-5

Rather than post each day and cover the same things lots of other reports have, let me give you some capsules of what is going on:
1. Lots of cloudy weather, but the weekend was sunny with big crowds on the beaches and in Help.
2. Exchange rate is looking better. Use the ATM´s for the best rates.
3. NFL football at the Marriott is on big, wide, HDTV...available to all...but drinks are stateside costs.
4. The number of new ladies in Help lend credence to a great farm system.
5. I am amazed at the number of ladies in 4X4 that not only remember me from two months ago, they even remember my name.
6. Have heard some horror stories of muggings, being robbed at gunpoint by cops, but have seen nothing but homeless folks sleeping on the sidewalk and a few kids begging around Help.
7. The food is still excellent and cheap.
8. The sessions are still wonderful and cheap.
9. Prices at Help remain the same, but the ladies always want to start high. Bargain them down to 150-200 R.
10. Life is good.

Another minor scam is with the guy who sells the lottery tickets. As you walk by him he pretends that he accidently dropped one of his lottey tickets that he sells and he tries to impress upon you that it is good luck for you and you should buy it.

Hey Grshel1 I don't know how much longer you have in Rio but you said you like good restaurants, have you tried Porcao's Rio in Flamengo or Satyricon in Ipanema great Italian seafood restaurant or Mio's in Ipanema on Farme de Moeda.

Luckilly I´ve never run into any o the shit-slingers but I´ve heard abut them. Lucky for you it was on the shoe and not on your shirt or something like that because I´ve heard that happens as well. But then they work in pair and someone else offers to clean it up for you while you get ripped off.

I thought I'd add a report since by now I´ve been arround the block a few times.

First a few regular joints. I know there was a discussion earlier about Cozumel and whether it was good or not and I tried it last Friday and had a blast. Nice service and fun crowd.. Not as nice looking as the crowd you get in e.g. Baronetti but genuine and I cant´t realy judge from on time. I was there on a Friday and the staff was great took care of me, got me free drinks and even let me cut in line when paying. They even got me a good deal with a taxi-guy friend of theirs for the trip back home. Really great service. Low cover charge too.

Baronetti is probably the place I visit the most with a good crowd on Fridays and Saturdays but the cover charge for guys is realy high. I think R65$ and half of that is pure entrance fee. Also they make you wait at the entrance for a long time until they think enough girls have entered hich can be frustrating.

Guapo Loco: It sucks, don´t go there. To small and packed. A hole in the wall with no atmosphere, no place to talk and no place to move. Maybe OK if you go there to eat but wasn´t my cup of tea..

Nuth: Greatly Overrated. Sucky and WAAAAAY to loud music. And the people there are no fun and not approachable like on all the other places I´ve been.

By the way, is it just me or do the DJs here really suck? Most of them play weird ass shit with an added drumbeat and it really sounds awful. Some of them would be better of just putting a CD on and leaving.

Now the last report comes from L´oumo which was a real positive surprise. Nice looking girls, mostly 7s but as low as 5s and as high as 8s were available.
