    EZrio. Com

    Hi Guys,

Anyone had any dealings with www.ezrio.com?

I'm looking at 3 bedroom apartment in Rio, and they showed me this http://www.copacabanapenthouse.com/

    Quoted at US$330 per night.

Would appreciate any info on this agency. .

Where is a "safe area" in Rio?

I was wondering what the best and most reputable agencies are regarding the renting of an apartment for more than one month(so monthly rates)? Something that includes utilities would be preferable. Is something in a safe area for less than $1000 USA the a month possible? (say a studio with kitchen).

    Thanks

Here it goes: Hotel Paysandu (47.00), Rios Nice, Monte Alegre, Villa Rica, Center Hotel, Augusto Copa Hotel, Rios Presidente, Hotel Angrese, Oceano Copacabana, Royalty Copa, Apa Hotel, Aeroporto Othon (80.00).

I know those are alot of hotels but maybe we can use this post for future mongers on a budget. If we can all give experiences or knowledge of these hotels we can narrow them down to a few.
I took a girl up to Hotel Angrense back in 2002. They are fairly laid back and as long as you are not bringing a different girl back each night you should be fine. They only want it to seem that she is your girl friend.

My girl spoke to the desk and they allowed her up. But for most mongers this hotel would not be a good option as you probably plan to bang many women during your trip.

Men with one regular girl should be fine.

    Samy69,

Dude, I think Perkele maybe "pulling your leg", as a quick search with Google maps, well tell you. Anyways...

I know your new to the group, but you'll need to do some HOMEWORK and read past posts, to get some background information and/or tips on some of the questions you're asking.

Here are some tips to help you wade through all the great information found on these boards.
    1) Use the SEARCH features
    2) Simply search those members who you feel provide decent info
    3) Use/READ the Bubba guide. This the Rio Manual/Guide for newbies (ie., THIS FOR YOU...)
    4) Use/READ Sperto's Guides on Centro (another GREAT manual)
    5) READ Puta Playa's recent (2010) reports on Centro and where he stayed in Centro
    6) Use Google Maps to "zero in" and find locations and other pieces of great information, you're not sure of.
    7) Use Google Maps to show you how close, far or in proximity things really are to each other.

BTW, Centro is IMHO, not the best place to stay for newbies new to Rio, unless you are a seasoned mongerer and such places do not bother or scare you. I'm not saying Centro is particularly scary, but it is not for the faint of heart. Centro has some night life, but I think Copa maybe better for you, seeing as this is your 1st visit. But READ the past posts and judge FOR YOURSELF.

Well, I guess you have some homework ahead of you....good luck!

I would prefer it to be near to center, not far from night life and termas.

Can you name the area and inform me about your preferences please.

    Rio lodging advice needes

Me and my friend are visiting rio for the first time in November for 5 nights.
We are considering Atlantico Copacabana or an apartment with two bedrooms. What would be the most suitable option in your opinion? Also we are considering renting only one room in Atlantico Copacabana or other hotel - maybe even cheaper and have fun outside ex. Termas etc.(what do you think about it ? or it is necessary to have a separate room to fully experience rio ?) Any apartment recommendations, or it would be difficult to rent it only for 5 nights ?

I stayed there recently and also ran into a guy who stays there a couple months every year. We both had the same opinion. Management has decided that demand is so high that guests and employees are expendable. The hotel was recenly remodeled to cram more rooms into the same space and is still full. Demand for lodging in Rio is very high. Current room rates at the Atlantico Copacabana - $123 per day which includes breakfast.

    Just picky folk man!

That hotel has the most discrete and friendliest staff of any hotel in Rio. I highly recomend a hotel that treats grown ups like grown ups. Go out there and enjoy yourself; they are very good. IMHO, best bang for the buck.

    What is going on

    World Cup, Olympics, Oil Discovery.

Apartment owers and rental agencies are opting for long and short-term rentals to corporate clients rather than renting temporarily to sex mongering gringos. They are willing to take less money over the hassles that some gringos bring.

Right now there are a lot of side walk and street repair projects taking place all over Rio with signs proclaiming the city's commitment to these efforts. Rio is trying to become a real city. It is not just the members of this forum that realize it has a long way to go.

Do not expect the apartment (and hotel) situation to get better in the coming months or even the coming years.
