Hi Guys,
Anyone had any dealings with www.ezrio.com?
I'm looking at 3 bedroom apartment in Rio, and they showed me this http://www.copacabanapenthouse.com/
Quoted at US$330 per night.
Would appreciate any info on this agency. .

Posts: 1I was wondering what the best and most reputable agencies are regarding the renting of an apartment for more than one month(so monthly rates)? Something that includes utilities would be preferable. Is something in a safe area for less than $1000 USA the a month possible? (say a studio with kitchen).
Thanks

Men with one regular girl should be fine.

I know your new to the group, but you'll need to do some HOMEWORK and read past posts, to get some background information and/or tips on some of the questions you're asking.
Here are some tips to help you wade through all the great information found on these boards.
1) Use the SEARCH features
2) Simply search those members who you feel provide decent info
3) Use/READ the Bubba guide. This the Rio Manual/Guide for newbies (ie., THIS FOR YOU...)
4) Use/READ Sperto's Guides on Centro (another GREAT manual)
5) READ Puta Playa's recent (2010) reports on Centro and where he stayed in Centro
6) Use Google Maps to "zero in" and find locations and other pieces of great information, you're not sure of.
7) Use Google Maps to show you how close, far or in proximity things really are to each other.
BTW, Centro is IMHO, not the best place to stay for newbies new to Rio, unless you are a seasoned mongerer and such places do not bother or scare you. I'm not saying Centro is particularly scary, but it is not for the faint of heart. Centro has some night life, but I think Copa maybe better for you, seeing as this is your 1st visit. But READ the past posts and judge FOR YOURSELF.
Well, I guess you have some homework ahead of you....good luck!

Posts: 8Best area to rent an apt in Rio
Hi All,
It is going to be my first visit to Brazil and Rio and don't know much about the city. Want to rent an apartment. Where is the best option?
If you were going to rent an apartment, where would you rent it, I mean which area?
I would prefer it to be near to center, not far from night life and termas.
Can you name the area and inform me about your preferences please.

Me and my friend are visiting rio for the first time in November for 5 nights.
We are considering Atlantico Copacabana or an apartment with two bedrooms. What would be the most suitable option in your opinion? Also we are considering renting only one room in Atlantico Copacabana or other hotel - maybe even cheaper and have fun outside ex. Termas etc.(what do you think about it ? or it is necessary to have a separate room to fully experience rio ?) Any apartment recommendations, or it would be difficult to rent it only for 5 nights ?

That hotel has the most discrete and friendliest staff of any hotel in Rio. I highly recomend a hotel that treats grown ups like grown ups. Go out there and enjoy yourself; they are very good. IMHO, best bang for the buck.

Posts: 117Current state of Atlantico Copacabana?
I am thinking about booking a room at Atlantico Copacabana, but recent (2010) reviews for this hotel at Expedia are, for the most part, not very good. On the other hand, recent posts in the Rio thread say it is OK (without going into a lot of detail). Any info on recent experiences at this hotel would be greatly appreciated.

Right now there are a lot of side walk and street repair projects taking place all over Rio with signs proclaiming the city's commitment to these efforts. Rio is trying to become a real city. It is not just the members of this forum that realize it has a long way to go.
Do not expect the apartment (and hotel) situation to get better in the coming months or even the coming years.
