Does anybody have any relatively recent experience with hotels in these two areas? I've never had a problem finding girl-friendly hotels all over Copa, but I've never stayed in the two aforementioned locations. I heard a long time ago that the best hotels in LeBlon particularly may not be so open to mongers bringing in GDPs, no matter whether you booked for two or not. Would appreciate any knowledge held by the brotherhood regarding the current girl-friendly hotel situation in LeBlon and Ipanema.
Why hotel and not AirBnB? I'm planning to stay in Rio for like six weeks starting beginning January and I find the longtime renting of airbnbs much cheaper than a comparable hotel. In August this year I stayed for six weeks in Transamerica Barra and I ended up ubering every evening to copa -) I agree, copa is touristic and kind of dirty but it always has been a good starting point for me beginning with Mabs, dolce vita, Kalabria and then going to club mosaico if necessary. Interestingly, the more you leave copa going to zone sul like ipa, leblon etc. The cheaper the Airbnb's also get.

    Novotel RJ Leme

Stayed here 4 nights. It's easy to bring girls to your room. The elevators are before the reception and the reception staff is always busy and have no idea who stays in the hotel. Nice rooftop terrace with pool and bar.

Unfortunately, the monger friendly Porto bay hotel in Copacabana is closed for renovation at the moment. I wonder if it will still keep its GF status when it opens up again?

Is this a polite way to say RTFF? I like it, funny and polite. I agree with you though.

Can someone please recommend 2 or 3 Girl Friendly hotels within a block or 2 of Copacabana Beach?
All hotels are "girl-friendly" for the right guest.

This issue is brought up in multiple threads every couple weeks. Maybe hotels do not like people who cannot or will not read.

I stayed at the JW Marriott 3 weeks ago, had no issues bringing a girl for a pernoite. We could've just walked past to the elevator, but she wanted to do the right thing and showed her ID at the front desk, no issues either way. Try to get an ocean front room, and breakfast buffet was pretty good too.

First timers coming to Brazil should do the same. AirBnB hosts will list that they speak English to get rentals when they really don't. If there is a problem, then there goes your dream trip.

On one of my first trips to Brazil I rented an apartment which had issues. Fortunately, one of the rental agency team spoke English (had lived in the US) and they refunded my money and I moved to a hotel. As a result of their fair business practices, we became good friends and I rented from them often.

Do not underestimate the value of English-speaking hotel employees. They can arrange tours, help you communicate with other Brazilians and in many ways make your life easier. Can you do this on your own? Sure, but you don't have time to waste muddling around when you could have gotten a quick answer or resolution. One time I was in Rio staying at a hotel when their internet went out while I was in an important meeting. No problem. I just took my laptop down the street to another hotel walked up to reception and asked is there someplace quiet where I can connect to your internet. The clerk escorted me down the hall to a private office and I was back in my meeting. No charge. Again, do not underestimate the value of these relationships. Often on the forum people ask about exchange rates. Who do you think gets the best exchange rates other than some friends who will remain nameless? Hotels. Wouldn't it be great if you got their same exchange rate? You guys who think you have it all figured out, don't. One of the members you always try to pick fights with, does. Maybe you should listen to him now and again. He has been places, seen and done things you never will.
    Which hotels would you recommend?

Thanks thought it was zapmessenger and it was something different. BTW I will be in Rio last two weeks of July can anyone PM any apartments they're aware of that were girl friendly in copa? Most of the places I've looked for in airbnb has a clause saying no visitors, etc. Etc.
