    Hotels in Rio

I just recall I stayed there a couple of times, and that it was nice, if not a bit on the expensive side.
Dear Friend, apart the Princess Copacabana do you have other tips on a good hotel in Copa? In the past I stayed at Hotel Olinda (nice, but small rooms) on Avenida Atlantica. I am in search for a nice junior suite or similar with Ocean View. And of course with possibility to bring in girls.

When all this will be over, and it's safe again I'll go to Rio and Sao Paulo for a nice anal "marathon"!

    Thanks.

    It.

    GF hotels

One of the most common questions in the Rio de Janeiro thread is about GF hotels, even though there is a specific thread for this subject.

How hard can it be to send an email/message to the hotel and ask about their guest policy?

No matter where you go in Brazil there will be 3 alternatives:
    1. The hotel doesn't allow guests.
    2. The hotel allows guests for free.
    3. The hotel allows guests but will charge a fee (cama extra).

Wherever I go in Brazil I make sure to inform me about the hotels guest policy. Very rarely there is a problem and very rarely they'll charge any fee. Some hotels allows you to bring a guest for free visiting for a couple of hours but will charge you a fee if she sleeps over and have breakfast. Being nice (not meaning tipping them) to the reception staff also helps them forgetting that they should charge a fee.

Some people on the forum recommends to pay for a double room. IMO a weird idea. You might not bring a girl every night and also it will be cheaper to pay for a cama extra instead of paying for a double room.

    Here's a link just as a suggestion:

    http://www.riobeachrentals.com/property/332

Also these apartments are in apartment buildings with other tenants, residents who live there and need to get up and go to work the next day, they're not on vacation. So sure having a loud party on a Tuesday night or whatever at 3 AM is not going to go over well. Pick your place carefully to avoid any issues or maybe go for a girl / party friendly hotel.

    Sos

I plan on staying in Copacabana for two weeks during my Natal / Ano Novo break. If you have a beachfront apartment on Avenida Atlantica you're willing to rent please inbox me. I'm looking to down 2 weeks minimum, might make it 3. Please inbox me with your requirements / details.

    Obrigado.

    Staying outside Copa & Ipanema

Has anyone tried staying outside of Copacabana and Ipanema?

I am toiling with the idea of buying a semi-retirement pad and prices are much better outside these areas.

I am not a beachgoer, so I am happy to stay away from the beaches.

    Any recommended areas?

I know Hotel Atlantico copacabana is GF but it seems to be run down and noisy for extended stay. How about the following two hotels, are they GF?

    Premier Copacabana Hotel.

    Hotel Atlāntico Travel.

They both seem newer and nicer. I emailed them but have not received any reply.

Also can someone please advise me if it is common for Rio hotels to have safe in room for storing valuables?

    Thank you for your time.

    Copacabana

So I RTFF few pages back since they were dated since 2011. I did look up a site that was mentioned quite a bit https://copaapartments.com/ . It seems legit and did send my questions to them. But the last discussion on this thread was 2017 so has anyone stayed there recently like in the last year. Is there area relatively safe and next to any places going to? Thanks in advance.

    No more VIP's

Love motel VIP's closed Saturday due to the continuing problems with Avenida Niemeyer. It had been in business for 48 yrs!

    No title.

OK exec talent I guess I'm one of those bad boys -- It always seems I'm trying to make something hard that isn't. LOL.

    Girl Friendly Hotels.

This silly question comes up all the time. Why, I have no idea.

I have stayed at most of the moderate to expense hotels throughout Rio and never have had a problem bringing in girls.

Carry yourself like Richard Gere in Pretty Woman, not like some sniveling pervert. It is not about drawing attention to yourself, it is drawing the wrong kind of attention. You will find that being gracious to hotel staff and other guests makes a difference. Don't sneak around like you have something to hide or be ashamed of, but don't act like you own the place either. Be the guest that everyone, including other guests, would want to see again. People always make something hard, that isn't.
