sperto, i think salvador has priced itself out of the market. there are still some casas where you pay 100 real. regular girls can be easily met if you speek portuguese but i assume that not every monger can do that.
i like salvador but my last mongering destination was pattaya with all the kinky stuff and very much lower prices. nobody can beat the bahianas when it comes to making love but in those days the economy must be also right. that is not anymore the case with salvador.

Posts: 33Ok, so I will try to share my experiences about Salvador.
What I wanted to say in my previous postings was, that Salvador compared to other destinations is losing atractivity for mongerers a bit from year to year.
If you like black women and if you speak at least a bit of portuguese Salvador is still a very good place for you.
Forget about Pelourinho and the Boates but go to the beaches and try your luck. Your chances are very high to meet beautiful women with a real girlfriend-sex-feeling.
Pay them a beer or caipirinha wich is not too expensive on the beaches and see where it goes to. If a girl likes you she will be soon ready to go with you to your apartment.
But beware of those Semi-Professionals who would never call themselves Prostitutes (Garotas-de-Programa). They don't charge per hour or day, but very soon will tell you about their need of money for a sick child or mother, paying their rent for apartments and so on. This type of girls can be much more expensive than the real professionals.
You can also try to contact girls with the Badoo-Website, it's really popular in Brasil. But this will mean spendig a lot of time in searching, writing messages and Chat on MSN later.
I like to do this and have made good experiences but I know that it's not everybodys way.
If you like black women and don't speak portugues I think it's better to go to Kenia, because a lot of people understand English there.
If you don't like black women go to Buenos Aires or Thailand, where is the best value for your money in my opinion.

10 years of mongering in Salvador, that's a lot. Great, then you must have a lot of mongering information to share. Hopefully some new stuff instead of the usual Orla strip-clubs which are worthless IMO.

Maybe you should be a little more tolerant to someone elses opinions. I accept your point of view, but let me answer to some of your thoughts.
I have stayed about 3 years in Salvador from 2000. 2010, so I think I can say that a have some experiences there and of course not only in the Pelourinho.
Prices: Hotel in Barra R$50. Privês in centro R$30/30 minutes. I know that this exists, but you get what you pay for in that is not very much in my opinion. In Thailand or Argentina you get much better quality for the same price. Thats for the girls and for the food, too (have you ever tried a Steak-House in Argentina?)
Rip-Off: Of course you can be lucky, and it depends a lot of if you speak portuguese or not. Seems like you are experienced and don't need such advices. I wrote this for the less experiences guys to take care. And you can believe me that there is an enormous increase of Rip-Off in Salvador in the last few years (Taxis, Restaurants.). That's what I discovered and a lot of guys I know there share this opinion.
I don't want to start a fight about that so let's say that everybody has his own impressions and thoughts on things, ok?
What I wrote is only my opinion after 10 years of mongering in Salvador, no more, no less.

The real is stronger than before. All of Brazil is more expensive. Still I find Salvador quite cheap. Hotel in Barra R$50. Privês in centro R$30/30 minutes.
Restaurants. I've no experience of restaurants trying to rip me off, except sometimes in Pelourinho.
Poor food? The bahian cuisine is among the most famous in Brazil. In Rio Vermelho you have several dozens of restaurants serving delicious and cheap food. In Barra you have Caranguejo de Sergipe, close to the small Christ statue. Their food is excellent and decently priced. Their famous moqueca de peixe e camarão cost about R$ 20 and is heavenly good.
Regular girls. How do you mean that it has become more difficult to pick-up regular girls? I still consider Salvador to be very good for non-pro's.
Salvador might not be everyone's cup of tea. If you go there planning your mongering only to Pelourinho and the orla-stripclubs you propably get disappointed. Widen your horizons.

Posts: 33Salvador compared with other Destinations
First of all I want to say sorry for my bad english.
I have been travelling to Salvador a lot of times in the last 10 years (last time in summer 2011) and unfortunately it's getting worse every year (not only in my opinion).
The prices rise very quickly (Hotels, Apartments, Restaurants, Girls) and at the same time the value what you get for your money is each year less.
Criminality is raising, even in the formerly "save" areas like the Pelourinho.
Restaurants: If you don't speak portuges it's nearly impossible not to be ripped of in the restaurants in the tourist aereas (Barra, Pelourinho, Rio Vermelho). They always try to add some drink or so on your bill. Take care of that. The quality of the food is poor, exept in the really high-priced locations like Boi-Preto for example.
Apartments: Starting with a monthly rent of at least 1. 500 Reais in Barra not really cheap, in most cases you have to pay the energy bill extra, internet is weak and not always working.
As already mentioned by a lot of posters before the professional girls-scene is nearly dead in Salvador (exept some very expensive or very dirty places with a really high risk of all diseases you can imagine).
If you can speak at least a little portuguese you can try to catch a "normal" girl, but evan ths is getting more difficult each year.
Compared with othe mongering destinations I can say that in my opinion Salvador nowadays is really not worth visiting.
In Thailand for example the costs for living are about 50% as in Salvador, but of course it is a different style of girls.
I have been 2 times in Buenos Aires and surely will go again because compared with Salvador it's save, clean, cheap and the girls are beautiful.

Seems that about everytime I meet a new girl that is really cool and sweet and beautiful, she tells me she is from Bahia.
I've also found plenty of dark skin beauties in SP, though I'm sure you're correct that the percentage is much better in Rio.

Rovnak, I have been to Bahia a few times, never found stunning GDP's there. Living in Rio, I know quite a few hot GDP's from Bahia, maybe all the successful ones leave? If you are after Mulattas e Negras, then there are probably more darker working girls in Rio than any other Brazilian city. Most of the cheap places in Rio are predominantly black! I don't go to São Paulo much more because the white skinned blonde look does nothing for me!

Got to A Tarde site, click on "Tudo+" and then click on Encontros Perssoais and you will find approx. 100 adds.
Do not expect any decent strip-club. That is a waste of money.

Regarding the girls working at Morgana I found them just as attractive as I described, no matter of the price I paid.
In Pelô there used to be a mixture of pro's and some "amateurish semi-pro's". The latter have become very rare. This year I mostly saw nasty hardcore pro's circulating in Pelô.
I doubt that you'll find any club in Salvador with "high end club pussy". I've seen plenty of regular girls in Salvador that I would rate 9's and 10's, but I can't recall I've ever seen a pro in Salvador that I would rate more than a 8.

Followup. In your opinion what is the best night time option? I trust you that Morgana's is a good daytime option. You suggest that Eros does not have the best equipe, then what boate / club do you personally recommend instead?
The classifieds of A Tarde, as in www.atarde.com.br (don't see any ads there) , maybe personals are only in printed version? You really think that is a good plan for a 5 day visit? Are there trustworthy pictures?
I see some gorgeous chicks in these sites, but as usual I am skeptical of online ads, though some of these girls have been well reviewed in gpguia. Do you have any experience with these sites? Photos are trustworthy?
