I think there are two major differences in our holidays.
First: The time, I never stay less than 3-4 months in Brazil.
Second: I guess your playground is mainly Rio/Sao Paulo. My playground covers the whole country. I compare my expenses in Sao Paulo to my expenses in Salvador, Manaus or Macapá.

In terms of quality of the girls and the sex I can't see a reason to spend more than I do.

In terms of having fun I've no doubt that you enjoy yourself in the clubs in Sao Paulo. Just as I enjoy myself in a simple Forró club in Rio Branco.

I always thought you Rio/Sao Paulo mongers would have more fun if you choosed a larger playground like mine. I felt that you are missing the best parts of Brazil. I guess I've been wrong. You are propably just happy as things are now.

I can't afford to run around an unknown area like Brasil and not speak an ounce of anything but minor Spanish, Ebonics and English. That isn't going to work for me.

I'm a "value" monger as well, but it doesn't bother me that others spend alot more than I ever will in one transaction on the hobby.

So my game is monger to take the edge off, search for non-pro action, if that fails, then find a willing provider for some TLN.

Now I'm trying to workout my budget to be able to do this for 5 days straight if nessarary. I say nessarary because I believe I could find a short-term relationship with semi-pro or whatever in that time frame, somebody I would be willing to come see again and commincate with.

Is that horrible?

I will agree there more angles to the hobby than just bangin the most beautiful woman you can afford or reliving your youth by bangin girls half your age, but there's a place in this hobby for all of us. This is a unqiue brotherhood and we shouldn't ***** and moan about how much money is being spent by others, unless it really is driving up the market price.

When I woke up, I showered and shaved quickly. I had agreed with Vatel69 that he would help me exchange some dollars I had brought with me to reais at a very good rate. Around 11 the phone in my room rang and the receptionist told me I had a visitor downstairs.

I went down to the reception but couldn't see Vatel69 anywhere. A man I had never seen before came over to me and said something to me in Portuguese I didn't understand. He understood I didn't understand what he said and made a gesture to me to wait. Then he took his cell phone out and made a call. A few seconds later the receptionist told me she had a call for me.

I took the phone and a female voice in the other end said, "Hello darling, how are you?" I answered "I am fine, but who are you?". She answered, "You are GK right - friend of Vatel69 and you have requested to see the book with my girls?"

This was true. I had made arrangements with Vatel69 that he should try to get hold of this Madame’s book of girls. I just wasn't expecting her book today. She is very famous in Sao Paulo. Her girls are celebrities from TV, models, porn stars and girls from magazines like Playboy, Penthouse, Hustler and Sexy (the Brazilian versions of these magazines). She has got the longest running madame service in town and has been around for years. Her girls are from R$2000 and up for the night. She has apparently had very few or no complaints about her girls over the years. In every club I went to in Sao Paulo on this trip and mentioned her name - they knew her and had only great things to say about her and her service. Her girls are popular among Arab sheiks. They order harems from her to stay with them for weeks at a time.

The guy standing in the reception had brought a CD for me with the pictures from her book. The CD was mine. I didn't have to give it back. The guy in the reception was a taxi driver. Normally she charges for the taxi ride, but I didn't have to pay anything.

She finished the phone call by saying - "Take a look at my girls and give me a call." I couldn't wait, but I hadn't brought my laptop and was either forced to go through the CD in the hotels business center (which didn't appeal to me) or ask Vatel69 if I could look through the CD in his apartment. I was quite sure he was interested in seeing the contents too.

I took the CD and went back upstairs to my room where Vatel69 was waiting outside my room. He had apparently been in the elevator on his way up to my room while I was on my way down to the reception.

This was something about the hotel I liked. They didn't charge visitors to the room and didn't require the guests to sign in. This means that security wasn't the best, but it was no problem bringing in more than one girl to stay the night- which I did and which will be in a later report. The hotels name is Melia Comfort Tryp Higienopolis and it is located in a nice area, safe for walking at night and close to Shopping Higienopolis and several nice restaurants. The service was bad though, but the price for a room was R$154 and my room had a balcony.

Vatel69 arranged the money exchange for me at a very good rate and then I went back where a taxi was waiting for me at the hotel to take me to lunch. I had made a reservation at the Italian restaurant Due Cuochi Cucina. http://www.duecuochi.com.br/

Due to some jetlag I decided to only have water with my meal. The starter was a Raviolone filled with mozzarella cheese and spinach - topped with white truffles. The main course was lamb with foie gras. The ambience was not much to write home about - but the food was very good and the price below $R100.

After the meal the taxi took me back to the hotel where I crashed down on my bed for some much needed sleep.

The dinner today was at the Japanese restaurant Shundi e Tomodachi. If you go there ask if they have anything good not on the menu because the menu doesn't show the best offerings they have like the Embruladino. Other great choices were Abalone and a maki with cream cheese, salmon and strawberries. I started by drinking glasses of sake (3 or 4) and then had a bottle of wine. This meal was quite expensive - but worth it in my opinion. The bill was R$436. http://www.shundietomodachi.com.br/

After finishing my meal I took a taxi to Bahamas. Since WE is closed during weekends and Cafe Photo normally is very slow on Saturdays and closed on Sundays, I usually go to Bahamas on Saturdays and Sundays.

Bahamas was quite slow this night. Not many really great looking girls. I went over to the bar and ordered a Caipirinha. A waiter came over to me and asked if I wanted a table. I answered yes - and he showed me to a table near the stage where they have shows from Monday through Friday (not this night as it was a Saturday).

During the night I had several girls come over to my table. Many of them looked really good as the quality of the selection picked up during the night. I had a hard time finding one that I wanted to take home. Either they didn't want to do BBBJ, they couldn't stay the whole night or their prices were outrageous. One really good-looking girl quoted me a price of R$1000 for the entire night including BBBJ and anal, but I wasn't prepared to pay that kind of price in Bahamas.

The attitude of the girls inside Bahamas are quite aggressive. They try to push you into taking them. This is a big turnoff for me and usually puts me in a frame of mind where I question the girls honesty and if I can trust them to give me good service. This makes it even harder for me to find someone I like.

After a few hours and a few Caipirinhas I had become quite drunk and my usual standard lowered a bit. A girl I hadn't seen before approached me and sat down - her name was Dany. It seemed like she had talked to some of the other girls I had talked to earlier because she said without me even asking "all night including BBBJ for R$400 at your hotel". She had long, blonde curly hair, slim body, wore a skimpy black bikini, had a really nice tan - but her teeth were all over the place. She seemed like a fun girl though with the right attitude - so I forgave her for the teeth and decided to take her home. She had a car, so no need for a taxi. The drinks I had, the girls drinks along with my entrance and her exit fee amounted to around R$450. This was more than I had expected, but I wasn't in a state of mind where making a complaint would have been very productive anyway - so I just paid and we left.

While driving back to the hotel she opened my pants and changed between using the cars stick shift and playing with my "stick shift" - if you know what I mean. By the time we came to the hotel, I was really worked up. In the elevator up to my room she was all over me. I was a bit afraid the she would try to go down on me inside the elevator - because it had a camera, but she didn't.

Inside the hotel room we took a quick shower and she went down on me. Despite her wicked teeth - she gave great head and I liked it so much that we never got around to doing anything else. Every time she tried to stop I just motioned her to continue - and she obeyed. In the end I was too drunk to pop. So after about an hour of this - we went to sleep.

She woke me up at around 7. She had to leave because she had to go to work. So we kissed goodbye and I promised her that I would call her - which it turned out I never got around to.

I just stated my preference. It all depends on what you are looking for. My experiences at Cafe Photo have been a mix between almost good and bad whereas WE gives me a good time in about 90% of my visits.

Bang for the buck is not always whats important - what I want is something which is as close to a real date as possible. The attitude and the looks of the women are important too.

Of the clubs in Sao Paulo I have visited, WE is the only one providing all of these requirements at a level I can accept. In my opinion they also have the best looking women in town.

Cafe Photo used to be good in the past - not anymore.

Oh - and by the way - why the sarcastic tone - did I offend you in any way?

Gk knows me and bottom lines is this. Each one has its own preference. If you get off with a girl for 1000 reais or with 100 reais, its about personal preference. There is no need to attack or been sarcastic with the other person´s preference.
Same way, that the majority of guys that post about Brazil, prefer going out with dark skin girls, and its all good for me. I dont judge or critize it.
And I think GK can vouch for me, I only give you and advice about if the girl has a good or bad atittude otherwise it all about what your little head is saying.

OK, I confess, I have shelled out more than R1000 for a single night at Sao Paulo. But it is all relative. Sometimes I feel like bargain hunting, and sometimes I don't give a shit. If I am having a good time, and if I feel that I am not being ripped off (too much), then I might go for it. It all depends on the situation, the surroundings, and of course the girl. And no, I don't feel like a fool.

Here is how I would definitely feel like a fool: I am really turned on by a girl, and then I let her walk away because I had to price-haggle too much trying to get her down another R100; and then I either go back to my hotel alone or I pick up a cheapo hooker that doesn't turn me on, just to get laid by somebody - saved the money, but pissed away the evening. It all comes down to time versus money, and time to me is worth a hell of a lot more.

In the US, there are places where the market rate is $600 for just one hour!!! And then you often don't get a good selection. When I fly down to Brazil, I have to pay 2-3 grand for the plane ticket. And $200 per night for a good hotel in SP. Those are the big up-front expenses. The rest is play money. And I like spending play money a lot more

Its your right to choose what you perfer and my right to choose what I prefer. Some might agree with my preferences too and those will have benefit from my reports. So I think that you should let me post my opinions without giving me a hard about how I choose to use my money. I am not fooled or cheated into the choice I make and I know the other cheaper alternatives that gives more bang for the buck - still I choose the way I do. Sorry if that pisses you guys off - but thats your problem, not mine.

If you are looking for musical instruments, musicals scores, CDs and portuguese books (new and used) there is a large section of the rua Teodoro Sampaio, in Pinheiros, where you can find these kinds of shops (musical stores and/or book stores).

Interesting post, thanks. Pinheiros is definitively the most pleasant and lively district in town, with a very particular laidback atmosphere, and on a refreshingly human scale compared to most other bairros.

There's also in Pinheiros a lot of good bars/discos with an enjoyable atmosphere, where the crowd is not too young nor too snobish, and often packed with educated and very approachable women (many universitarias). The following places are all great live music spots, and also good to 'paquerar' :

Canto da Ema (forro)
Espaco Urbano (MPB, funk, jazz, ect)
Danado de Bom (forro)
Bar Mangeira (samba)
Nias (rock, funk, DJs), one of my personnal fav hangout with Azucar (salsa) in Itaim.

Anyhow there's dozens and dozens other good bars to discover in Pinheiros.
