Of the two, I've only done Vitoria and that briefly. My impression was that it was poor value (old garotas charging extortionate amounts) and also that a car was very desirable for cruising the long stretch where they hang out on the beach bars.

If you have time, take the train (it's a very memorable and scenic journey, takes best part of a day) to Belo. There you have PDP on tap both high and low end, but especially the low end, where you can do three chicas before breakfast, another after lunch, then find one to spend the night with before having dinner in the lovely adjacent upmarket city centre or shooting off to Svassi for decadent extravagance.

Anybody with knowledge about "cidades gemeas" Vitoria and Vila Velha (ES) ?

Which one of those two adjacent cities could be the most enjoyable for a two/three weeks stay during brasilian vacations period ? (nicest beaches, best regular nightlife and P4P, ect)

PS : Infos about about Guarapari (south of Vila Velha) would be welcome too. Heard it was during Jan/Feb crawling with chicks from Minas on vacations.

Thanks for the info, I over reacted and should have read more before posting. After a couple of years of planing an amazonian adventure, this seemed like the proverbial "chute no saco". Looking forward to a great time there and as an added precaution, I will take the old passport alongside my RNE, just in case of another closure. I might even extend my stay for a couple of weeks, since I must check out the forros as well. Estou calmo de novo.

According to local Gp**** forum, Remulos was closed on Sept. 19th and the doors sealed. I hope they manage to reopen and get back in the game before I get there.

I wouldn't call it adventurous spirit. I'm just curious by nature and likes new experiences.

In Fortaleza I "wasted" a whole day on this girl who turned out to be married. In return I got to see a different bairro, having a good lunch and meet interesting people. If I've spent the day at the beach or in a shopping mall I would propably not have gotten any new experiences and nice memories.

I might be a bit reckless (and propably stupid). I like to go where I'm not supposed to go. Bad things have rarely happened to me in Brazil so I keep on trusting my good luck.

My profession I rather keep to myself.

Nothing much happened with her husband. I chatted with him. The girl presented a story that I had been with her friend and now was trying to figure out where she lived. I have no more contact with the girl.

I did a similar surprise-visit to a girl in Fortaleza last year. I had problems finding her house. She lived in a favela in the outskirt of Fortaleza. I went to the bairro with a bus, a 1,5 hour trip. The map I ripped out of the phonebook didn't show her street. The streets actually had names, but there were no signs with street names.

I asked my way around. Nobody knew the street I was searching for but gave me directions anyway. Finally I found the address. I asked for the girl, Dxxx. Nobody knew her. How did she look like? Morena, 19 years, beautiful, big lips... Soon the whole street were engaged in a discussion who the girl could be.

One hour later I found the street (thanks to the post-guy) where her mother were supposed to live. I started to ask for the girl again, giving a description. Finally one girl resolves everything. "You're asking for Dxxx (which is her name), but here everybody knows her by her nickname Pxxx."

Dxxx and her mother prepared lunch to me and I spent the afternoon at their house. Very nice, a lot of beautiful neighbours passed by to say hello to the gringo. When leaving, the mother and Dxxx insisted to "escort" me to the bus-stop. Otherwise I would get robbed they assured me. Everybody in the favela had noticed the gringo who had been walking up and down the streets during two hours.

I could make a mistake but I think that towns in remote places in the forest should be wonderful. I think it depends on the circumstances.

Let say you go to the local Saturday forró-dancing in a remote village/city in Brazil. As a gringo you'll get a lot of attention and you will have very good chances of getting laid the same evening.

If you meet a girl on a dating-site things might work different. First meeting together with her sister/friend, meeting parents, romancing and after a while a secret meeting at the local motel.

I don't see it as bad for a girls reputation going out with gringo if she lives in a non-traditional mongering area. On the contrary. It would propably be considered not good if it took place in a typical gringo-destination, e g Copacabana.

Of course, smaller city means more gossips and might need more sneaking around. When I went to Barcelos (a village up on Rio Negro in the Amazon) I happened to have a chat and some kissing with a local girl just after I got there. In absolutely no-time the whole village knew that I was "namorando" this girl.

I have also experienced that girls behave different in their home villages, although in a different way than Perkele explained. The women will TALK to you and are VERY interested, but NO SEX. They usually want to have some friend or relative when meeting etc.

I'd just suggest meeting in "neutral zone" where she can relax.

Remember that great majority of these women aren't hookers, thus different approach.
