Posts: 511A Little Info Please
Anyone have any knowledge of the area of Ilha do Governador. Met a girl online from there. Was wondering if it doesn't work out, what are my options in the area. All advice will be welcomed.

Back in RP for a night. Called Mel and she arrived in no time. Usual arrangement of R$100 for two shots on goal or 1 hour. Mel was terrific as usual. Mel and older sister Ellis are not talking to each other an me being me. I asked how Ellis was doing and set Mel off on a tirade that I had not been calling her in favor of Ellis. Managed to settle things down and away we went. Will repeat with both Mel and Ellis and keep my mouth shut about the other.

Sperto:
Which Pousada do you recommend on Ilha Grande? And how much? I wanted to go during my last trip in Feb, but it was constantly raining. Hopefully, the weather will be better my next trip.
thanks in advance

Posts: 4053Ilha Grande
Ilha Grande outside Rio makes a very nice weekend excursion.
Take a bus or a van from the rodoviaria in Rio to Mangaratiba or Angra dos Reis. Continue with boat to Vila do Abrão, the main village on Ilha Grande. Lots of nice pousadas in the village.
Beaches: 92 beautiful beaches to choose from, reachable by boat or by foot.
Trekking: Don't miss trekking to Pico do Papagaio, 990 m altitude. Bring water, a girl and condoms. It's a marvellous experience having sex on the top with the astonishing view.
Night-life: Everything happens in the center. Bars and restaurants (with excellent fish-dishes).
GP action: Very hard to find.
Non-pro action: Normally I always find the local girls to be the easiest, but on Ilha Grande I rather go for the tourist girls. Expect some work to get laid, or just bring a girl from Rio.

Posts: 4053Itacaré
Itacaré, Bahia, has some of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil. The city is growing quickly and unfortunately loosing some of the charm, trying to imitate Buzios. Lots of wannabe-surfers and fake rastafariguys.
You go to Itacaré for the beaches or for the surfing. Don't go there for P4P.
GP action: I couldn't find any GPs at all.
Non-pro action: Local girls or tourist girls. It's OK but not as easy to pick up girls here as in Porto Seguro, because of Itacaré lacks the party atmosphere. Go for the local girls. Some stunning dark girls.
Night-life: Quintal, Coral, Mangue Beach and some bars on the main street.

Posts: 4053Porto Seguro/Arraial d'Ajuda, update.
Reasons for going to Porto Seguro/Arraial d'Ajuda: nice beaches, great party and easy picking up non-pro's. Don't go there for P4P.
* Non-pro's in Porto Seguro:
Day-time: Dozens of beach barracas to choose between. The most popular are Axé Moi and Tôa-Tôa.
Night-time: Main action at the street with the drink stands, Passarela do Álcool. Party at Axé Moi, Tôa-Tôa, Transylvania, Ilha dos Aquarius and some other clubs.
* Non-pro's in Arraial d'Ajuda:
Day-time: The beaches. For local girls head to Praia dos Nativos. For tourist girls head to Parracho, Cabana Grande or Pitinga.
Night-time: Beach parties at Parracho and Cabana Grande. In the center you'll find several bars on the road to the beach and at the square. NOTE: Do not miss out on the forró party at the fruit market (not every weekend). Very easy to pick up the local girls. Beware that some of them might want a small gift in return for sex.
* GPs in Porto Seguro: SW mainly at Passarela do Álcool. Quality better than in Arraial.
* GPs in Arraial d'Ajuda: This year it was very few GPs working the streets in the center of Arraial. Mostly low quality crack-ho's. Only a few doable GPs turning up occasionally. The number of GPs has been reduced for several reasons. The PM delegacia moved right to the center of Arraial. Also many of the SW are now retired because of being worn out by heavy drug-abuse or getting infected by HIV.
If you have trouble finding GPs just head to the first drinkstand (next to the pizzeria) at the square. That's a GP hangout.
* Carnaval: Porto Seguro/Arraial d'Ajuda propably has the longest carnival in Brazil. It ends on friday. Most of the action takes place in Porto Seguro. The carnaval here is great even though it doesn't compare to Salvador. It's always easy to meet non-pro's here, but during the carnaval you don't have to work hard at all to find a non-pro. It's great!

Posts: 2345music festivals and concerts in Para
Does anyone have any links to Brasilian tour dates that covers the big bands and names please? I'm interested mostly in Para up in the north (and which is a bit of a hike and reportedly not worth going to for mongering alone, but I want to go there). But if you know where I can find nationwide tours of main performers that would be helpful too.
(as pussy is all year round I'd rather plan trips around bands I want to see or other notable events). I've tried the website of the band I particularly want to hear but they are not advertising their stuff in advance sufficiently. Maybe there's a national tour dates site?
