I have been in MACAPA during 2008's carnaval.

If you speak Portugues, this place is really a hidden pearl, girls are everywhere and always ready to speak with you, exchange phone numbers and go to a bar at night.

The city is really safe (at the opposite of the feeling you can have in Belem), locals daid i could have wolk alone in the streets at night, i haven't tried but i think it's quite true.

If you rent a car, you will be the king of town, going with the non pros to some parties, or little amazonian beaches.

2 cheap hotels recommended, both girl friendly:

- On the central place Veiga Cabral, hotel FERRADOR is great, the boss is a french guy, he will helps you about girls stuff and all other things (part of this how to rent a car and where to go out each night of the week) . 55 Reais for a 2 persons room with air cond and breakfast

- AV. Coaracy Nunes, hotel AMERICA/NOVO MUNDO, despite all the bible's references painted on the walls it is girl friendly. 50 Reais the 2 persons room with air cond and breakfast (not so good the breakfast). Not so helpfull for girls hunting.

I have visited 3 brothels :

- JAMBERINHO, opened in day time, a low end place.

- BAR DA LOURA, opened from none till last client, take care, i didn't felt really safe. A lot of moto taxis in front of the bar, it's 5 Reais from here to the city center. 15/20 girls inside. 30 reais for sex + 7 for the room (1 Hour).
You will feel better if you speak protugues, if you don't go there alone (invite a brazilian friend for example), if you go early like 8 pm.

- BOULEVARD, it's more a club, opened at night with a show. All secured. Free entrance. It's quite far from the center, if you go with a cab it may cost you like 40 reais just to go, don't hesitate take a moto-taxi at 5 reais. The club is a house with a little swimmingpool outside and a VIP salon upstair. It's like 80 reais to go with a girl in a room (10 reais for the room) with bathroom, really clean, porno chanel, air cond.

Have a good time in MACAPA, but don't forget if you are fluent in portugues you will have a great time with non pro or semi pro.

I had a very good time in Maceio.

There are lots of “fuck-clubs” in Centro (see the fuckmap).

The fuck-clubs are bars with chicas . You can drink and watch porno-movie and fuck ! what more do you need ?.

Sabo da fruta had the best collection of chicas , 20-30 years old , the price was very cheap

45 Reais for the chica and 10 Reais for the room, total 55 Reais-not bad.

The fuck-clubs are open from none, perfect for daytime-action.

I fucked a lot of “hotties” there. One day a hade a threesome with another man and chica.

I was in PS for 7 days at the beginning of February. It was my first time in Brazil, but first and foremost it was Carnaval, which I guess influences things in many different ways. Therefore my report will be about Carnaval time in PS, while during the rest of the year things are surely a bit different.

So, let’s begin by saying that there was very little P4P to be found, but this was not a problem since I fucked for free. This little town was overrun with twentysomethings Brazilian tourists looking to have fun, so it wasn’t difficoult to find girls open to have either a one nighter or a 2/3 days affair with a foreigner. Same goes for the locals as well, of course.

Back to P4P: I found only one night/strip club, “Queen”, which left me very unimpressed. Few girls of medium to low quality, none of which pole dancing, and even less customers. Admission charge with a drink was about 50 BLR, but I didn’t ask about the price for a girl since I wasn’t interested at all. The final knock on this place was that one of the garotas working there met my friend outside working hours, and after getting to know him a bit she let herself be had for free.

On the beach I was never openly offered the company of a girl, like it happens in Salvador.

In town I was indicated who some of the GdP were, but my friend had sex with 2 of them for free.

BEACHES NORTH of PS

The daily search for fun and pussy starts here. Along the first 7 km of coast there are three main “cabanas” (Toa Toa, Axe Moi, Barramares): these are well organized beach establisments where beside umbrellas they have a stage for dance shows, a dance floor, bars, restaurant, lockers, toilets and so on. While Toa Toa and Barramares cater to a mixed clientele of families and singles, Axe Moi is the best of the lot, the one where all the young people go to meet and have fun. During Sunday of Carnaval this place was wild, rocking with some 5000 people dancing all day long. As previously said, I didn’t notice any obvious GdP in these places, but if you speak basic portuguese is relatively easy to strike conversation, exchange a few kisses, and arrange to meet later in the evening (Being Carnaval, it was totally normal to stop, passionately french kiss a total stranger, and then go separate ways without an extra word being said). On one occasion I met, took home and shagged a bahiana (girl from Bahia) in less than 4 hours.

Otherwise you can walk along the beaches, where you’ll most likely be stopped by some girl calling you over: some of them are non-PRO, some are piriguetes, all are great fun. This works best in the morning, before lunch time, and the best stretch of beach is the one to the left of Axe Moi, up until half way to Barramares.

Finally, north of Barramares, there are even nicer beaches like Coroa Vermelha and Cabralia, but they are a lot less developed and therefore frequented, so the pick up is not as easy.

BEACHES SOUTH of PS

Once you’ve crossed the river and reached Arraial d’Ajuda (a very nice little town, definitely upmarket compared to PS, but with less action at least during Carnaval), you’ll find beaches all the way down the coast. Among the nicest ones there’s Pitinga, while Parracho is the one you want to go around 4pm: here there’s another organized cabana where a lot of young tourists meet to drink and dance.

THE TOWN

Everything happens along Passarela do Alcool, a pedestrian street lined up with stalls, stores and restaurants. You should arrive around 10,30 or 11pm and have a drink at one of the drink stands; try to make friends with the young guys trying to attract the crowd to their stand, since they can be a good source of info. This stop also serves to make the few PRO girls available notice you: it’s where they hang around. Then move only a few steps and go get a table at one of the restaurants opposite the stands, another good spot to see and be seen. Finally it’s dancing time: the Carnaval in Porto Seguro is of the street kind, and people will be coming and going all night long. Dance, smile (always smile, very important), stop and be stopped: remember that Brazilians are very friendly by nature. Asking a girl you just met to teach you to dance usually works quite well. If they don’t do it first, make sure you kiss them passionately within 10 to 30 minutes of striking conversation: let more time pass and thet’ll think you don’t fancy them, or worse.

OTHER PLACES TO HAVE FUN AND SCORE

There are a few other places (Bombordo, Transilvania, Ilha do Aquarios) which normally organize parties once or twice a week, but during Carnaval they were either close or half empty. For the final three days of festivities (Carnaval in PS is the longest in the whole of Brazil) Axe Moi organizes a major party on its premises by the beach, which I couldn’t attend since I already left, but I’ve been told they are good and crowded.

ACCOMODATION

I stayed in a small apartment complex called Vila Toscana (www.vilatoscana.com.br) located just 2 minutes walk from Pasarela do Alcool and the bus stop to the beaches. They have 1 and 2 bedroom apartments, quite spacious, clean (daily cleaning service) and with air con. There’s a doorman 24/7 which makes it very safe, and the owner, an Italian named Rino, has been living in PS for the last 20 years, so he has a wealth of info about the place, women included (don’t be afraid to ask). During Carnaval you have to book for a minimum of 7 days and the rate is 90 Euros; transfer from and to the airport is included in the price. Rates in other periods are much cheaper.

TRANSPORT

I see no reason to go through the hassle of renting a car when all transports are cheap and plentyful. Busses run every 5 minutes, taxis are everywhere, and there are also mototaxis, which make for a scary ride, but are also very useful to avoid traffic queues at certain times and on Sundays. To Barramares, the last of the three cabanas I mentioned earlier, a bus ride costs 2,50 BLR, taxis and mototaxis ask from 15 to 20 BLR. To go to Arraial d’Ajuda there are “balsas” (ferries) every 30 minutes during daytime, and every hour at night. Ticket is 5 BLR, and strangely they don’t charge on the way back.

SAFETY

I found PS to be very safe: I never felt threatened or being targeted, even at the highest of Carnaval Madness. A local explained me that since PS lives almost exclusively off of tourism, violence by locals towards tourists is not punished with jail, but with death. I guess he was exagerating, but it gives the idea of how much they care about keeping the town a safe place. This said, the usual rules about not flashing valuables applies.

FINAL CONSIDERATIONS

It was a great holiday for me, in fact one of the best experiences of my life. I fully agree with previous reports: this is not the place to go if you are strictly looking for P4P, but rather to have one or more short flings with a good looking, fun loving Brazilian. Just make sure you speak at least some portuguese, don’t be shy, and keep up your stamina, because they party almost endlessly!

Was in PS again in november 2007. It was more low season that´s why I get bored pretty soon. There was very low action at all. This place get´s more and more touristic. Every week busloads of brazilian teens arrives.

Mongering: There is is strip club in el centro. I have not been there but all I was observate is that is has to be poor. Also there is some street action but I was not interesting in that. Spoke with some locals, going rate is 20 RS for BJ and 40 RS full service. The non-pro scene is good but do not expect model types. I have fucked a 20 years old semi-pro tourist girl who was with her friend a few times. She was not a ten but comparing to others she was one of the most attractive girls I have seen there. Paid only for food and drinks. A few local girls spoke to me but even for a free pop to ugly.

Summary: This place is going down. I have determined this trip after a week. The crowd turns younger. The trip was completely different as that one 2 years ago in february. My recommendation:

- go there in peak season;
- go there only when you are not picky;
- go there for short time;
- go there with a buddy
- go there with basic portugues.

Two neighbouring bordercities. Juazeiro lies in Bahia and Petrolina in Pernambuco.A river and a bridge separates the two cities. Both lies in the interior, sertão.

Buses going south to Rio/Sao Paulo often pass through these cities. The area before Petrolina is very unfamous for assaltos on buses.

I never stayed there more than 30 minutes at a time. Somehow I always felt that it should be nice to stay there for a couple of days. It seems to be a lot of nice local women there.

I have no idea if there are casas de massagem etc, but I would be very surprised if there wheren´t.

Hidden gem was Reggae Night and some other clubs in that area...another gem was Facudalde de Forro on Thursday night, and Aquarella on Sunday night....not far and tons of semi-pro options...

For afternoon play, the biotes around palacio governo are great for beer and quick, cheap, p*ssy too...there are 3 within a 4 block radius...also great to set up a night cap...

I did not find any pros, semi-pros in a dance club. There are no streetwalkers in Pajucara. The place in centro around Palacio da Gaverno is dead at 9 pm. Of couse the fact that I don't speak Portuguese, and noone around speaks English here, does not help. Can anyone give me any advice. I am going to be here another 3 days.
