I find this information to be accurate. Always ask yourself what would you offer if it's not too late if you find yourself in a precarious situation.
Avoid all travel to the following areas due to the risk of kidnapping and violent crime posed by the presence of illegal armed groups and other criminal organizations:
The area within 20 km of the border with Venezuela.
The area within 20 km of the border with Panama.
The area within 20 km of the border with Ecuador.
The ports of Buenaventura and Tumaco.
Avoid non-essential travel to the following departments due to drug-related criminal activity by illegal armed groups and other criminal organizations:
Antioquia (excluding the cities of Carmen de Viboral, Medellin and Rionegro, the Jos Mara Cordova International Airport and the road to this airport).
Arauca.
Caqueta.
Cauca (excluding Popoyan).
Choco (excluding the capital, Quibdo, and the whale-watching towns of Bania Solano, Capurgan and Nuqu).
Cordoba (excluding the capital, Montera).
Guainia.
Guaviare.
Meta (excluding the capital, Villavicencio).
Narino (excluding the capital, Pasto).
Norte de Santander.
Putumayo.
Tolima (excluding the city of Ibague).
Valle del Cauca (excluding the capital, Cali).
Vichada.
If you intend to travel to the any of the above excluded areas, do so by air. Exercise a high degree of caution at all times.

But for 10 years before the peace agreement, parts of the country (the parts you're likely visiting) were mostly safe from violence. Now if you're traveling into the jungle, that's a different story. And I wouldn't visit Buenaventura or north of there in the Choco region. Best way to move around in Bogota. You don't need cash-is all app based and safer. Even though I've never had problems with yellow cabs and speak Spanish there is the rare time when they might overcharge a foreigner. But most of the time is fine so don't be afraid to use them either.

The Colombian Peso is now at 3,400 to the US Dollar. Could make things a little cheaper in Colombia. Like in the bars and casas with the chicas, you can save a few a few bucks.
