    Yea its tough

When I went through the process to get my visa to come to America my country turned my down twice. Once they found out I had allot of family already in America they were afraid I would leave and never come back (they were right but better opportunities, better life). Third world countries don't like to give out visas when they see residents leaving. I've have a few Colombians that were born in Colombia and immigrated to America, when they returned to visit family, even though they came in with an American Passport, it always says country of birth, once they saw Colombia, they would not let them leave the country until they had all their Colombian documents up to date and a valid Colombian passport. They were stuck there for an additional 3 weeks to get it all in order.

Similar happened to me when I went home to me country for a funeral. Came in on the foreigner line and when the saw my country of birth was there they sent me to the citizen line. Asked me all sorts of questions of why I haven't returned to the country in over 10 years? Where's my original countries passport, then tells me I need to update all my info in order to leave. Within a week I had to go register for a voting party, get a national ID for my country and by the time I left it wasn't even ready. I had to ask a family member to pick it up and give it to someone to give to me when they were coming up on vacation.

Third world countries don't play when it comes with these visa approvals especially when they see the applicant have the means and network to leave and not return. Its tough.

    Why not Canada?

I was under the impression Canada was very easy to get in. I know of a few girls that elected to go to Canada if they couldn't get into the states. Is getting into Canada more difficult now?

The interviewer asked her a few questions in Spanish, she answered, he then asked if he could ask her a few in English, she said sure, answered them and he stamped her papers and approved 10 year visa. He told her she would be notified in a few weeks when to come down and pick up her passport with the visa in it They notified her in less than a week to come get it and that was it. She's been coming to the USA now many times to meet me and never a problem. Not sure why the extreme difficulty now, especially when any knucklehead who can fog up a mirror can walk across the border, get free money, a phone, an apartment and food stamps. How can our country be so messed up and make it so difficult for someone trying to do it the legal way, The only thing that has changed is we had a different President back then when my girl applied. You may have to do your road trips in Canada or Mexico.

Whats the trick? It can't really take 2 years for me to get her a visa so she can travel to the US with me for a couple of weeks, could it?

Who knows the scoop on how to get a girl with a Colombia passport a visa so I can fly her to the USA with me for 2-3 weeks.

I am a US citizen with a US Passport-but I live outside the USA. The plan is for her to come to where I live and then fly with me to the states for 2-3 weeks. We met on Seeking and have been hanging out quite a bit over the last 1. 5 years. We have a cool vibe together and have done small trips already, so I don't need lectures about having a girl for 2-3 weeks or traveling with a chica. I am only seeking information on how I get her a visa to visit the USA with me for a couple of weeks-hopefully not 2 years from now. LOL.

Anyone know anything about getting my girl a visa to visit the USA?

    Thanks!

    Exchange rate looking better

It appears next week, after Monday at 7 pm, will be a good time to use the ATM's. The exchange rate is now 3944/1 (COP/USD). If it continues to rise, hold off; but if it declines, you have the next day to get the higher rate.

WOW are you sure that's correct?

And at the interview, will she be able to show sufficient funds in her name to cover the length of the trip? Does she have an 'en blanco' taxpaying job or property in her name? If not, it's unlikely she will get the visa even if you are able to accelerate the interview. And of course no money back on denial.

    Ain't It the Truth

    Pique and Shakira are splitting.

"During a podcast appearance in February, Shakira said that she and her "poor husband, slash boyfriend, slash baby daddy" sometimes disagree about timeliness because of their different upbringings.

'Cause Colombian time is not the same as Catalonian time, Spanish time'.

And I get frustrated when a hooker who I have never met does not arrive on time. There is no hope. LOL.

Now airfares have gone up, so I am sitting home. Yes.
The airlines are out of control. The problem with sitting out is it may be a while before things level off if ever. Polical pundants insist this is by design by the administration to inflict pain on the energy sector. The problem is how long before we have ELECTRIC planes. Jaja. I saw a news clip of a travel expert say it can be 1 or 2 YEARS before the travel industry returns to normal. One problem is they buy the fuel 3 to 6 months ahead of delivery time. So if your in the same camp as me and believe fuel will be even more when the airlines buy for the next purchase period it just might be even more expesive, sooo looks like flights will continue to get more and more expensive: looks like the future for mongers is going to get worse and worse'er jaj.

I never fly Spirit because they suck but their price for Atlanta to Bogota is almost as much as Delta. I can afford to pay it but I'm not happy. I hate being gouged. Plus the dollar continues to go down, from 4000 a week or so ago to in the 3700 range. So I'm wondering if these events are holding any of you guys back from making a trip.
The amount that my flights have increased would pay for 9 days in my hotel and I usually stay 2 weeks so yes it is keeping me away. I always fly COPA.
